greenmommy708 says "A pretty good bottle" about Playtex Drop Ins Baby Bottle

The Playtex DropIn bottles are pretty good. You can get either a slow flow or fast flow nipple to accommodate your baby's growing needs, so that's helpful when the babies are old enough to gulp down eight ounces in seven minutes. The thing that bothers me about this bottle is that its an eight ouncer, but when you add eight ounces of water to the formula powder, it overflows. If you're going to make eight ounces of formula in here, you have to use the ten ounce bottle liners, and I haven't found a generic for these. So you end up having to buy Playtex brand, which is more expensive of course. But even the ten ounce liners aren't big enough to really hold the water plus the powder. Does this make any sense? Then when I go to shake it up, the formula leaks out the threads of the coupler and now that these bottles are a little older (have been used a total of about ten months between two kids) they're also leaking in between the nipple and the coupler. Its not a big enough problem to...
...

greenmommy708 says "I guess its okay - it wouldn't have been my choice." about hp Color Laser Jet 2600n

I really don't like this printer. It does its job, it prints, so I guess that's why I gave it three stars. But there are quite a few things I would change. First of all, its ginormous. We have to keep it on the floor next to the desk because its so heavy and would take up so much space. It takes four separate ink cartridges, which is supposed to save you lots of money since you don't have to replace all the ink when, say, just the blue runs out. But I feel like we're buying cartridges more than before and they seem to run out so quickly. Also, this thing tells you there's a paper jam when it runs low on paper. I know that's minor, but its so annoying. Every once in awhile the display says that its "initializing", whatever that means. Its very loud while doing this and sounds like its about to print something, but it doesn't, it just runs and runs. It seems to be at random times when it does this. And then to top it all off, occasionally it just doesn't print. We don't know why and this...
...

greenmommy708 says "I try to cook in this pot as much as I can." about Le Creuset Round Dutch Oven, 5.5 Quart

I love Le Creuset. Its just the best cookware in the world. This 5.5 quart dutch oven is perfect for anything that needs to be started on the stove, like browning meat and vegetables for a stew or soup, and then finished in the oven. The pot stays really hot and heats food evenly because of the cast iron interior. And cleanup is amazing. The enameled surface on the inside creates a nice brown crust on food, but then it wipes out with one easy swipe. Anything really baked on (or burned on, as sometimes happens in my kitchen!) is easy to remove, too - just soak the pot in soapy water for several hours or overnight and then even burnt on stuff comes off. Its a very, very heavy pot, though. And when its filled with stew ingredients or liquid for making stock, its even heavier. So be careful if you have a bad back or think you'd have trouble getting this thing in and out of the oven. The colors are so pretty, these pieces can be used for serving as well.
...

greenmommy708 says "This gate was awful - we took it down and returned it." about Playfence Retractable Gate

This gate was awful! I guess it might have been my fault that my expectations were too high. I don't know if I misread the Target website when I ordered it, but when I see the word retractable, I guess I just think that its an automatic retraction. Well, it wasn't. Installation wasn't too bad, it was a pain like any other gate that you have to attach to studs so your kids won't fall down the stairs. But once it was installed it took too much work to make the "retractable" part function! It wasn't on a spring or anything automatic. You actually had to crank the thing manually to get it to tighten once you had the gate closed. And after you opened the gate, you had to manually crank the slack back into its little holder on the side. Um, no thank you! I've got a baby in my arms and I want to be standing there cranking a gate? It was a hundred dollar gate, but worth nothing. Target took it back no problem.
...

greenmommy708 says "This is the best face cream I've ever used!" about Avon AM Solutions & PM Solutions Ageless Results Cream

I had always used Oil of Olay face cream. But then a friend of mine started selling Avon so I decided to try one of her products. This cream com separately, but its currently a better deal to get the day cream and night cream together in one divided pot. With an approximate three month supply of each cream, plus an eye cream, the cost was $20. More than I'd pay for Olay, but definitely worth it. The creams have a great fresh scent, and my face has never felt softer or smoother. I don't know if I look any different, but I feel different and that's important! Plus the day cream has a slight shimmer to it. Nothing crazy, just enough so that when I put my foundation on over it, my face has a slight glow. The only downside is that for some reason the cream makes the skin right in the crease where my nose meets my face all dry and peely. Just in that tiny area. Its weird, so I just don't put the cream there anymore. Its a great product!
...

greenmommy708 says "These jeans are constantly falling off of me!" about Motherhood Maternity Secret Fit Belly Maternity Jeans

I was highly disappointed with Motherhood's secret fit belly maternity jeans. The "secret fit" panel is very thin and light as a feather, which makes them extremely comfortable. The panel is meant to be an over-the-belly panel. But the fact that the the panel is light as a feather means that they can't keep the jeans up around my belly at all! In the fitting room they seemed great, but as soon as I got them home and wore them around for about 3 minutes, they started to slip down and I found myself constantly hiking them up.

I had a pair of jeans from my first pregnancy, about 3 years ago, that had a thicker over-the-belly panel with a drawstring going through the top which I thought at the time was overly bulky. But now I see that it was necessary in order to keep the pants up.

Incidently, I also have a pair of secret fit yoga pants which are great. Since the yoga pants are light and don't need much support to hold them up, the secret fit panel doesn't slip at all - so for lighter...
...

greenmommy708 says "This is a fantastic gender neutral kitchen set." about Step 2 50s Diner

I wanted to buy my 2-year-old son a kitchen of some kind for his birthday because I knew he would enjoy it, but I didn't want anything that looked too girlie. I found this Step 2 50s Diner by accident (just walked by it at Toys R Us) and thought it looked perfect. This toy is two-sided - one side is the kitchen and one side is the diner. There's a working jukebox, a bell to ring when your order's up, and one of the burners makes a water boiling noise or a frying noise depending on what pan you put on it. If I could make one adjustment, it would be that the toy make more noise, like water running at the sink.

The toy also came with a great supply of toy food, which my son loves to play with whether he's using the diner or not. Most of it is gray, with electric blue booth seats and a red kitchen. It's not an eyesore like so many big plastic toys can be. I think this toy has really promoted the development of pretend play for my son.
...

greenmommy708 says "This is probably the best piece of baby equipment I have!" about Fisher Price Healthy Care Booster Seat

I love this booster seat so much that I bought 2 of them. One to keep at the kitchen table and bring with us when we go out and one to keep up by my bathroom for my son to play in while I shower. This seat is very durable and easy to transport, with it's collapsing backrest and carrying strap. It's height is adjustable so my son can sit at any table with it.

My son is 2y3m and we've been using this since he graduated from his Bumbo seat. It's more compact and easy to clean than his high chair and I find that the high chair has collected dust as we've used this booster more and more. I also love bringing it to restaurants b/c we all know how disgusting those high chairs are. The only thing is you have to attach this booster to a chair with a back, so it shouldn't be used on benches or stools that have no seat backs. All of my friends have this seat and they all agree that it's a must have for moms!
...
