gooru says "Convenient and Compact" about Joby - Gorillapod Outdoor Camera Tripod

When I travel, I almost always have the gorillapod in my bag rather than a full-size tripod, because I simply can't stand to carry a huge, heavy tripod. However, I still want to be able to take self-portraits, nighttime shots, long exposures, etc. As a result, I need something to hold my camera steady, and the gorillapod is perfect for this. It's compact, light, and can fit just about anywhere due to its flexibility. Plus, it really can hang anywhere. I've trusted it to hold onto my ridiculously expensive camera on bridges, rooftops, and tree branches the world over. The only downside is it lacks any sort of fine adjustments. Framing a picture when using it is really just pointing the camera in a general direction, but I can overlook this in exchange for its compactness and flexibility....

gooru says "Best Value for a Full Frame Camera" about Canon - EOS-5D Body Only Digital Camera

I am a complete photo nut and always have to have the absolute best camera. When it comes to dSLRs, it absolutely has to be the Canon 5D. Why? It has a full frame sensor, and this sensor performs incredibly in low-light (and really all lighting conditions). The camera has a great shutter, too, and is very easy to use. Plus, the price has really come down recently, making this camera a steal. Then, there's the fact that it works with Canon's full line of lenses, which are some of the best glass in the world. The next time you're at a sporting event or somewhere where there are lots of professional photographers, just check out all the Canon glass. Canon's quality is top-notch, and this camera will last you a long time....

gooru says "Best Bang for the Buck--Seriously!" about Apple MacBook Notebook

<br/>I have never used a better computer before. In my life, I've owned dozens and dozens of computers--Windows laptops and desktops, SGI workstations, Linux desktops and servers, Mac desktops and laptops--and I have never more happily used a computer before than the MacBook. The computer is absolutely everything that I'm looking for: it's fast, powerful, portable, light, runs *nix, durable, and inexpensive. While I'm a total Mac geek, the fact that this is a Mac doesn't even factor into the love I have for this machine. It's simply that the MacBook is the best bang for the book I've ever received in any machine, and I've ended up using it longer than any other computer I've owned thus far....

gooru says "Holy Crap Is This Good!" about The Time Traveler's Wife

I don't have much time to sit down with a book and read, so it took me about a year to get around to reading this book. A friend originally recommended it, I forgot about it, and then she gave me a copy of the book to read while I was on vacation. And boy, am I glad that she forced it upon me! This has become one of my favorite books of all time, and I am absolutely certain that it will be regarded as a classic of early 21st century American literature. Some people will look at this and immediately say, "I don't read sci-fi," or, "I hate love stories." Well, to them, I say, "You should give it a shot anyway. You will almost certainly love this book, because it's simply so well-written and creative that it's impossible not to love it."...

gooru says "Pricey but Worth It" about Yale University

If you can get in, then you should go. Why? You'll never get a better experience anywhere else! These will be the four most important and best years of your life, and Yale provides a myriad of opportunities that you simply cannot get anywhere else. Not only will you get the standard excellent Ivy League education from world-class professors who actually care about you, but you will also get to meet and get to know people from every walk of life. Student life is excellent here: it’s balanced, fulfilling, enjoyable, and enriching. I’ll never regret having gone here, and neither will you!...
