goodchristkathy says "I like it!" about GE Dryer model djxr433eg6ww

My new house came with all new General Electric appliances. We were told we could go down to the warehouse and pick out our items. Of course they wanted us there so we could 'upgrade' and spend more money. Unfortunately, all we could afford was the basic package. Much to my surprise, the dryer wa an energy efficent one even though it was electric. I really wanted a gas dryer, but that would of been an 'upgrade'.....meaning a higher mortgage payment. I am totally surprised at how good the dryer works. It has four settings, regular (high for cotton), medium (permanent press), delicate (low), and fluff (no heat). You may also set it on 3 different cycles. Regular, where, they time it themselves, more dry, optimum dry, and low dry. easty care, which is for delicates, then there is timed dry, which you put in how many minutes you want to dry. I really do like this dryer, i've added those balls that you can buy at walgreens to minimize the dry time, and those really help also.
...

goodchristkathy says "You get what you pay for......" about GE Top Loading Model wcsr2090g3ww Washing Machine

Our 2008 D H Horton home came with all appliances. We were instructed to go down to the warehouse and pick them out. This is just a ploy to get you to upgrade to higher your mortgage payment. We could barely afford the house, let alone "upgrading" appliances. I knew GE was a good name and a good brand, so we stuck with the 'basic' package. So basically, this washer has two cycles, nomal and delicate, or 'pulsed'. It is just a basic washer with 3 water settings, and don't get me wrong, i works, even cleaning my hubbies work clothes, and i do not use expensive detergent, the basic walmart no name. The washing machine is not too noisy, but i also does not alarm you when i is done, also the water will sometime go into the machine VERY slowly when you have hot water wash, not sure if this is because of the person who hooked it up. overall, if you want a basic, cheap washer, this one is it. It also fits a queen size bed spread!!!
...

goodchristkathy says "What a waste of water!!" about GE Built In Model GTS18ICSWRWW Dishwasher

When we bought our house, it came with all appliciances, including a dishwasher. We had the option to upgrade everything, but we could not afford anything but the basic. Our General Electric Dishwasher, white, built-in, model Gts18icswrww is a poor excuse for a dishwasher. I have never seen a dishwasher that worked so bad, and i have lived in over 30 apartments throughout my life. This thing does not know how to wash dishes. My last apartment had a General Electric dish washer, and i could put pots with dried up mashed potatos or a pot with dried spagetti sauce and not have to pre wash pots or any pans. This thing cannot even wash tupperware. This dishwasher has trouble cleaning knives, forks, spoons. It does matter if its plastic, metal, glass or any other kind of material....it just wont clean anything properly. The things that do get cleaned are usually stained with the crap flying around the dishwasher.
...

goodchristkathy says "I didn't realize what i was getting!!!" about Kirby Vacuum - G4

My mother-in-law told me she was fed-exing her old Kirby vacuum to us. Why would i want an old vacuum cleaner??? All I can say now is that its the best gift i have ever received!!! I have never used a vacuum with the power of a kirby. we have had it for over two years now, and never have to buy bags. You just empty it from the bottom and there is a 'scraper' to scrape the bag clean. I finally learned how to use the attachments, and it really makes couches and chairs look new and fresh. We had to buy a new belt, and i was cringing at thinking how much it would cost, but it was only $3.25!!! There are a lot of other features i have yet to utilize. The attachments pick up dirt better than any broom for my tile floors. The long cord allows me to get into all crevices. The attachments are long enough for me to pull up dirt in any location. I also am able to bring the vacuum to the garage and vacuum both cars, which also does a good job. I hope to keep this vacuum for a LONG TIME. I love it!
...

goodchristkathy says "I was tired of it being a clothes hanger..." about Proform Treadmills

A ad in the newspaper brought my attention to a moving sale in town. i called immediately and asked if they had a treadmill. Yes they did, and they wanted $200.00 for it. i immediately made arrangements to see the machine. it was a sears proform 775, sitting alone in the basement. she bought it for her hubby for christmas, he used it for 2 weeks, and it hadn't run since (it was september). i immediately bought it, her hubby was so glad not to have to lug it around he even delivered it to my house at no charge! The machine is very easy to operate, it has a heart monitor and keeps records on speed, calories burned, fat calories burned, incline, speed. It even has a few programs that you can follow if you dont want to use the manual setting. The machine is VERY cumbersome and not easy for one person to move around. But it has followed us along 3 moves, my hubby wants it gone, but i will keep it til it doesn't work anymore!!! i love i and it keeps me motivated to move a little.
...

For lent, i decided to stay on the atkins for 40 days, tomorrow is easter, so i've got a lot of carbs to eat tomorrow. The atkins works, but you cant overeat on it or you wont lose. while excercising, i lost up to 5 pounds a week, but once i stopped excercising, all i did was maintain my weight. 40 days of nothing but meat can get to you!!!
...

goodchristkathy says "It Sucks!!!!" about GE Basic Package Dishwasher

My new house (08) came with 'basic' appliances. of course they want you to upgrade, and we didn't. This dishwasher cant even wash a dish, let alone pots and pans, even though i run the whole cycle (which lasts about an HOUR). My apartment dishwasher was better!!! I was very disappointed since it was a GE, still wondering if i got a 'lemon'...........
