goldsheet says "Great, IF you spend under $100 per month on gas !" about Discover - Open Road Gas Card

The card has a 5% rebate, BUT it is only up to $100 in purchases per month = $5 monthly maximum. — If you realize that from the start, you have to remember to pull out the card just after your statement closes, use it for $100 in gas, then put it away until the next statement. If you do not drive much, you will be fine, otherwise it can be a hassle for just a few...

goldsheet says "Used to be a Great Card until they cut rewards" about Citi - Diamond Preferred Rewards Card

I used to like this card when you could get 5% rewards in ThankYou points and could redeem 5000 points for a $50 gas card, but those days are gone. Reward percent has dropped and it now takes 6000 points for a $50 gift card, so it is no longer my primary rewards card. — — Customer service is good. Getting higher credit lines online is pretty easy. Consolidating credit lines from other cards can be dome if you get right CSR. Balance transfer offers can be excellent, if the fee is capped (3% BT fee with $75 max) — — I really want to like this card, but other reward card options are now...

goldsheet says "Chase Freedom Card Rewards are Excellent" about Chase - Credit Card

Lots of cards that had great rebates have cut them, but Chase Freedom card still give you 3% on the top three categories of purchases, and !% on the rest. When you accumulate $200 in rewards, it can be redeemd for a $250 check, a 25% bonus and in real cash. The monthly rewards for bonus cash is limited to $12 (2% bonus on $600 in purchases), so you need to be aware that it is capped. — — I also like the autopay feature: I have the account linked to my bank account, so the full balance is paid every month by ACH on the due date, so I avoid late fess and interest. — — Never had a problem, never had to call, so I can not comment on cutomer...

goldsheet says "Just an Average Card, Except for Monthly Transunion FICO score." about Washington Mutual - Platinum Mastercard

The WAMU card is a pretty standard card with the opportunity to earn !% rewards. — One can get higher rewards with other cards for specific categories of purchases, but one can not get the monhtly free Transunion FICO score anywhere else. I have to be honest, it was the only reason I got the card, and seldom charge anything ot it. —...
