Jolie says "Meet my Granddaughter Lexi, an American Girl Bitty Baby " about American Girl Bitty Baby

My daughter asked Santa for a baby doll for Xmas. That was all that she wanted and nothing more. When she got her American Girl bitty baby she was an instant mommy and I was an instant Grandma to baby LEXI (yes, that is what my daugher named her American Girl bitty baby.)

The bitty baby is blond and blue eyed, just like my daughter, and made of sturdy construction. She is also small enough to carry around easily.

Since bitty baby came into our family, bitty baby has been to the movie theater, out to dinner, Xmas dinner, her Great-grandma's house and more. She is a full member of the family now and is with my daughter 24 x 7.

I, (I mean Santa), had originally picked out a baby from Target for $30. But, I have to admit, for $10 more, the American Girl bitty baby was so much nicer. She is actually normal looking with a cute little face and a button nose. Some of the babies look a little demented. But, the American Girl biddy baby is actually pretty cute!!!

Now, if I can just avoid buying the......

Jolie says "I am not a huge Brad Pitt fan, but he was good and "hot"" about The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

Yah, what Mike said! That was a thorough review!!

I liked Benjamin Button and I even cried during the movie a few times. The acting was good, the story line well developed, and it was such a touching love story.

I did think that the movie was a little slow going for the first hour, but when Brad Pitt turned into a man and he was courting his "love", it captured more of my attention. Hehehehhe. Again, I am not a huge Brad fan, but his acting was good, he looked good, and the storyline was touching.

I would consider seeing Benjamin Button in the theater but dont read too much-- it is a little over-hyped in my opinion.

For whatever it's worth, I thought Angelina did just as good of a job in Changeling. They are quite the duo.

My rating: a solid B
...

AmyA says "Four out of four cats and a few humans hated these" about Kookamunga Chicken Flavored Catnip Treats

Santa brought the girls Kookamunga catnip treats (chicken flavor) and they thought they would share with their cousin cats at Christmas.

Two nibbled, crunched and did a spit out and the other two just looked at them and gave dirty looks at me.

We the humans had a few cocktails in us and thought we would see why they were so bad. Oh my, very dry, no flavor (These say chicken flavor, but I don't think there is any flavor to them) and just like compressed sand.

The can says "Shake it and they will come" Well yes they come, but when they see the can they just walk away.

This product will stay on the shelf. All of the family cats have spoken and give Kookamunga Catnip Treats paws down.

...

AmyA says "Stop the cold drafts with 3M tape" about 3M 2145C Indoor Insulator Film Mounting Tape

Oh yeah here in Wisconsin winter is upon us and let me tell you the patio door does have it's drafts, but I nipped in the butt with 3M Indoor Insulator film mounting tape.

I was told about this from someone at work and surprised I never heard of this. I used to use the 3M patio door plastic that shrinks to fit and it does work wonders, but it has always made me a tad nervous having the whole door covered up all winter...I guess claustrophobic?

Well I found the tape and it's about an inch and a half wide, looks like regular tape, but thicker. Just rubbed the area down with rubbing alcohol, let it dry and just put the tape over the seam of the door and by gosh it grabbed to the frame and no more drafts. Simple and I was done in less then five min.

I wouldn't use this on wood framed windows because come spring it can take some of the finish off. I did test this on my bedroom windows and did take a bit of finish off and I didn't even press it down.

If you have a patio door that lets...
...

Jolie says "Redmoon Theater offers a magical theatrical experience!" about Redmoon Theater- Winter Pageant Redux

I took my kids this past weekend to the Redmoon Theater to see their Winter Pageant. Honestly, I dont even know how to describe this 50 minute show other than magical- simply magical.

The Winter Pageant at the Redmoon is a visual wonder- celebrating the 4 seasons of Chicago with limited language and extravagant sets and visuals. There is use of lights, bubbles, darkness, movement, and more. Think a hybrid of blue man group and circ de solei and a broadway set.

I didnt know how my kids would react to the play but they were soooo taken by the show. The actors and actresses start 15 minutes early and engage the kids from moment one. The 50 minute show continues to engage them every step of the way. And, at the end, they even bring out cookies and parts of the set to look at closely.

If you can fit in a visit to the Redmoon Theater before the 21st of December, I would strongly encourage you to go. The Winter Pagent is amazing for both kids and adults and for only $10-$15 per ticket- it is a must......

AmyA says "Having a party? Put out Pillsbury Savorings Flaky pastry bites " about Pillsbury - Savorings flaky pastry bites -Cheese Spinach

I had a coupon for Pillsbury Savorings Flaky Pastry Bites -Cheese and Spinach flavorand thought they looked good because of the puffed pastry surrounding the cheese and spinach and I was right. That picture didn't lie.

Easy to prepare. Just open box, place on cookie sheet and bake and the outcome is a snack or appetizer that will even impress the mother-in-law (shhhhhh our secret). These have a wonderful flavor and a melt in your mouth treat. The cheese blended with the spinach is a happy blend and complement each other. You will have the room ooohing and awwwing.

I zip it up even a little more by sprinkling a little garlic powder (not garlic salt!!) over each before they bake. Nummy!! Light, crispy, flaky with a Oooo La La flavor.

I will be purchasing these for the Holidays to serve for my friends and family.

Now you can eat your spinach with out the face because these are that good and you too shall be hooked! Forgot to mention these are so pretty too!
...

AmyA says "Stimulate your lips and plump them up" about Sally Hansen Lip Inflation

WOWSY is one word I can say about Sally Hansen Lip Inflation. Not only will you get a great shine without stickiness, but you also plump up those lip-a-roos with it containing Ginger, Peppermint and Cinnamon with other items...You will feel it the second you put it on! Your lips might even feel a bit numb for a bit, but that goes away. It's the ginger, cinnamon and peppermint working.

It does plump up the lips and it even conditions them. I couldn't believe how my lips felt at night so nice and conditioned.

Lip Inflation comes in clear (my choice), Sheer blush, Sheer pink and Sheer mocha.

I gave my hubby a smooch and he asked why his lips felt so minty? tingly? so beware when smooching you will not only make them warm and fuzzy, but tingly too. Also noticing while I was out and it's below zero your lips will feel like they are freezing, so you may not want to wear it in very cold weather if you are going to be outside for awhile.

I love this product, it works and costs around...
...

AmyA says "Garnier Anti Puff Eye Roller didn't excite me to much " about Garnier Nutritioniste Skin Renew Anti puff Eye Roller Size 0.5 oz /15 ml

When the alarm clock goes off I get to see nice puffy eyes and always looking for something new to try to see if it will do better then my St. Ives Cucumber gel, but so far nothing thrills me.

I seen and found Garnier Nutritioniste Skin Renew Anti puff Eye Roller and thought I would give it a try. I washed my face and rolled it on. It is cool and refreshing, did see some of the puffiness go down, but for the money I would get better results from tea bags cooled in the freezer for a few min or slap some cucumber slices on my eyes. I did feel a little tackiness after it dried.

I gave it a try and it may be OK, but not for me and I don't feel it's worth the money. I will stick with my St. Ives.
...

AmyA says "Friendly service and the food keeps you coming back" about Galvan's Family Restaurant - Appleton, WI

Since I am at a new location with my job I thought it only fitting to check out a few of the local "eats places" in the area. I will treat myself once a week to go out, but I don't wish to spend a lot so Gavan's covers me well. You won't leave hungry that is for sure!

Galvan'soffers super Greek food along with a wide selection of American dishes that keep you coming back and there is something for everyone not matter if your hungry for breakfast, lunch or dinner. If your a vegetarian, no worries, there is a selection of goodies on the menu too.

The last item I had off their menu was that tuna salad stuffed tomato. Yes, simple, but when the plate comes to the table you feel like royalty. A huge tomato stuffed with a great tuna salad recipe (they won't give it to me HEHEHE) and that isn't all...a wonderful selection of seasonal fruit (and not one slice...I am talking selection baby) and a choice of bread item. I received a huge, buttery, flaky croissant that melts in your mouth. ...
...

Prices are sky high and during the week we are back to simple foods such as soup and a sandwiches, casseroles, big batch of spaghetti and on Sunday it's a nice sit down dinner.

I have been finding some great buys on roasts and while at Wal-mart I stumbled upon a new product by Tyson. Pork Roast with vegetables KIT. I thought hmmmm, I likey this idea. The price was $10 for everything. 2lbs boneless pork roast, red potatoes, carrots, white onions, celery and a seasoning packet. They were all in the same container, but the roast, veggies and seasoning were all vacuumed sealed in their own bags.

They have directions for a slow cooker or oven and they are simple. I used my slow cooker and the out come was a very tender pork roast with veggies on the side all cooked to perfection. Prep time is 5 min and if using a slow cooker they recommend 10 to 12 hours on low or 4-6 on high. The aroma is wonderful and I had to keep telling my husband to back away from the slow cooker and...
...

Fava Tea Company is a nice place to visit and not only will you get great service, friendly help, but award winning teas that are hand mixed for quality and a great taste.

I have to say I had fun shopping at Fava Tea Company, because I went in clueless about loose teas and what each one was all about and came out educated and pleased with my purchase (not to mention I had fun testing many different blends they had to try). A huge selection of loose and bagged teas (over 300) that include White, Green, Black, Herbal, Rooibos, Oolong teas, Pu Erh (going to try this one next since it assists in weight loss), Chai and Yerba.

They have teas that have caffeine (tea has less caffeine then coffee) and they also have teas that are caffeine free. The loose teas even have beauty to them along with wonderful fragarence with dried cranberries in one, dried oranges in another, dried blue berries in another, mixed in with their high quality teas... so far more fantastic then the teas that are bought...
...
