Wow, that's quite a title. It might lead one to believe that I'm some sort of ghoul who is preserving my husband's severed arm in a Debbie Meyer Green Bag. Well, kind of, but not really.

I don't buy tons of produce but when I do, I want it to last. I especially dislike when I buy strawberries and they start to mold the next day. I love strawberries I so I want to be able to enjoy a few a day for maybe a week. Or at least 3 - 4 days instead of having to wolf them all down overnight. So one day I was shopping and found a box of Debbie Meyer Green Bags. They were expensive but when I consider how much food I throw away because it doesn't last as long as i need, I figured they were worth a try.

So I bought the box of 20 Green Bags and gave them several tries with strawberries, lettuce, tomatoes, and broccoli. I unfortunately noticed not a bit of extended life to any of my fruits or veggies and all the bags did was produce additional, unwanted condensation on my produce. I gave them...

Avatar is the biggest, most expensive movie ever made. It costs over 300 million, perhaps 350 million to make and they are spending over 50 million to market it. It's a staggering sum of money which created new devices and upgraded available technologies with which to make movies.

Avatar is of course a breathtaking visual feast particularly seen in IMAX 3d. It looks much better than it did in the previews. There are many well staged action sequences and lots of things blow up.

Director James (Aliens, Terminator 2, True Lies, Abyss, Titanic) Cameron has been talking about this movie since he made Titanic. He said it would be several years before he could make this movie because technology had to catch up so he could do it the way he wanted to. Cameron pushed movie technology when he made Terminator 2, Abyss and Titanic. With Avatar he again borrows ideas from writers like Phillip K Dick, A.E. Van Vogt, Isaac Asimov and others and expanded on how worlds were created...

To the Point

Although the Quick Top Can Cap is an "as seen on TV" product, I picked it up in Wal-Mart. I was looking for inexpensive soda can tops but found the Quick Top Can Cap instead. I hesitated because it was over $2.00. I thought that a lot for what seemed to be a plastic top but it is so much more and really worth the money.

A Closer View

The Quick Top Can Cap was really a necessity for me. We are on the road traveling so I can put the cap on my soda and not be afraid of taking a drink and having it all over me. We also pull a travel trailer. I made the mistake of putting an open soda in the refrigerator.

I love using the Quick Top Can Cap on the beach or outside. I put the can in the arm of my chair and feel as if a bug or bee won't fly in my can.

The Quick Top Can Cap is amazingly versatile. The cover acts as both a cover and a coaster. The can seals into the cover so it stays put. The cap can also be used as a cup.

We finished our basement and build a bar down there about a year ago. We have a hard-partying group of friends, so we knew that just one compact refrigerator was not going to be enough to hold the beer supply. We wound up buying two of these Magic Chef 4.4 Cubic Foot Refrigerators from Home Depot and have been very happy with them.

This compact refrigerator is designed for use in offices, dorm rooms, and places like basement bars and tiki bars. There isn't enough room to store a week's worth of groceries and frozen items, but you can easily store sandwiches, yogurt, some fresh fruit, and some cans of soda and bottled water in it. We use them down in the bar, so they are usually stocked with about 3 cases of bottled beer, a couple of 1 L bottles of club soda, ginger ale, Diet Coke, and a GladWare container of sliced limes. I think the closest we have ever gotten to having real food in our Magic Chef Refrigerators was a bottle of olives once. There also is a small freezer compartment...

I'm always looking for an interesting book, so I was excited when my father passed along his copy of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo to me a few days ago. He said that he totally loved the book, had already bought and read the follow-up novel, and was looking to buy the third one in the series. After reading it, I understand his enthusiasm and will definitely recommend the book to other people.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo follows two people: Lisbeth Salander, a young woman who is an exceptionally skilled investigator who also happens to be deemed mentally incapable of caring for herself and Mikael Blomkvist, a middle-aged journalist who was recently convicted of libel and who had to give up his position at the magazine that he published/ran. Blomkvist is hired by Henrik Vanger to write an autobiography and to also investigate the 30+ year old disappearance of his young niece, Harriet. Blomkvist has nothing better to do and enjoys the work, but he soon finds that he has discovered...

Yankee Candle Company Reed Diffuser was my first diffuser. I was always afraid to buy one because of the warnings of not putting them on fabric, etc. I have the Sparkling Snow scent which was a gift.

It wasn't until I started this review that I realized why I like the scent - it has patchouli in it - one of my favorite smells- along with pine and fruits.

The Pros

Unlike some fragrance dispensers the Yankee Candle Company Reed Diffuser gives off the same smell for a long time.
The reeds are put into a beautiful decorated glass piece. The Sparkling Snow has a hand-decorated (really?) white snowflake on it.
The aroma is subtle unless you are sitting right next to it.
There is no flame.

The Cons

It takes 24 hours after putting in the reeds for the fragrance to come about. It can be quicker and these can be refressed by inverting them and then re-inserting the reeds.
The Yankee Candle Company Reed Diffuser is made in China.
You have to be careful with the oil.
The price is $12.00.

When my husband bought me the Keurig B70 Platinum Coffee Brewer for Christmas, he also included several boxes of K-Cups, including Newman's Own Organics Extra Bold K Cups. I've been using them for a week now and I simply don't like the coffee that they make!

A K-Cup is a pre-measured little coffee-making cup that you use in your Keurig Brewer. You simply pop it into the machine, hit the "brew" button, and you have a large mug of steaming hot coffee literally within 30 seconds. This particular K-Cup contains Newman's Own Organic Extra Bold Coffee which is also fairly-traded in addition to being organic. My husband knows that I buy organic and fair-trade coffee whenever I can which is how I wound up with a big box of these K-Cups. My husband bought a box of 25 for about $15 at the local Kohl's. That's about 60 cents each, but it is still much less expensive than a cup of coffee purchased at the local convenience store or Dunkin Donuts.

I'm a huge fan of Pride and Prejudice and I've read many different sequels over the years. They almost always disappoint me, yet I keep buying them. I've learned my lesson, however, after reading Sharon Lathan's Mr. and Mrs. Fitzwilliam Darcy. It is THE WORST PRIDE AND PREJUDICE SEQUEL I've ever read.

Mr. and Mrs. Fitzwilliam Darcy picks up the Pride and Prejudice story immediately after the marriage of Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy. He brings her home to Pemberley and, well, all they seem to do is have sex and state that they love each other, can't live without the other, can't breathe without the other, own each other's souls, etc. Seriously. That's it. There are no conversations other than pledging their love to one another and no action aside from, well, the action in the bedroom. It was extremely tedious to read and I found myself getting angrier and angrier with each page because the author completely failed to include any of Lizzy or Mr. Darcy's personalities into...

I received the Delta Touch and 2O Kitchen Faucet as part of my Christmas present from my husband. I enjoy cooking and spend a lot of time in the kitchen preparing meals for the two of us and for our friends and family, so replacing our $35 two-knob faucet with something nicer was a logical solution. He really spoiled me with this Touch 2 O Faucet.

The main selling point of this Touch2O Faucet is the fact that you can turn it on and off with a simple tap of your hand, wrist, arm, elbow, etc. If your hands are covered in egg, breadcrumbs, meatloaf mix, etc. you can simply tap the faucet or handle to turn on the water and rinse off your hands. Many people may not feel the need to purchase such a kitchen faucet, especially at the outrageous $368 price, but it is the perfect improvement for me considering the antiquated setup we had and the amount of cooking that I do each day.

I discovered that I had asthma several years ago. I had no idea that I had it but started having allergic reactions to certain things quite often and was sent over the edge with chemical pneumonia when someone decided to do some painting indoors at work without ventilation the building. After that episode it was all downhill. I developed a bad case of allergy induced asthma and was prescribed an inhaler, Albuterol. This past fall when I got my new prescriptions I found a new drug, ProAir HFA, which is the good source of Albuterol sulfate so I was told.

The ProAir HFA Inhaler is smaller than the inhaler I was accustomed to but other than that, it was made the same way. There is a small canister and a mouthpiece with a cover. When you are allergic to cats and dogs and live with 7 cats and a varying number of dogs and puppies, it is inevitable that you are going to wake up with red and itchy eyes. Such is my life and I would probably head out into the world each morning looking stoned or worse due to my glassy, bloodshot, and red eyes. I don't have to, however, because I keep bottles of Visine A.C. Redness Reliever Eye Drops in my bathroom cabinet and purse at all times.

The bottle describes this stuff as "astringent" eye drops. I always considered astringents as super-drying agents, but Visine A.C. is a comforting, soothing, and hydrating product that feels good on tired and dry eyes. After adding 2 drops per eye, redness is reduced, itchiness is reduced, and the whites of your eyes are, well.. white again! This product doesn't have an antihistamine component like Visine A, so while it doesn't completely eliminate itchiness, it also doesn't burn like heck when you apply it to your eyes which is a good...

I love foot pampering products and spend some time almost every evening soaking, filing, and moisturizing my feet. My husband gave me a giant bag of pedicure items as part of my Christmas present this year and it included this Dr.Scholl's For Her Foot Softening Balm.

This foot moisturizer is definitely hydrating as it has petrolatum, mineral oil, olive oil, shea butter, glycerin, and avocado oil. It has a strong herbal scent which isn't horrible, but isn't as pleasant as the usual peppermint fragrances that foot creams usually have. It is thick and creamy, but spreads easily across skin and starts to absorb easily... but after a minute or two this stuff starts to get a bit chunky and doesn't seem to melt into skin any further. Perhaps that is because my feet are already mostly smooth and hydrated, but I've seen body butters by other manufacturers do the same thing.

Yes, Dr. Scholl's For Her Foot Softening Balm is an inexpensive and moisturizing product, but it simply doesn't impress...

One of the many perks of not having children is that I have time to sit down, relax, and pamper myself. The Dr. Scholl's Beauty Stone is an oval-shaped pumice stone that is used to exfoliate feet. You simply wet it and rub it across feet to remove rough and dry skin from the balls, arches, and heels of your feet. I typically soak my feet for 10-20 minutes in very warm water with either epsom salts, Johnson's Foot Soap, or tea tree oil added. After letting my feet soak and soften up, I then use this exfoliating Beauty Stone to scrape away the thick and dry areas of skin.

Even with all of the advances in hair care technology, sometimes the old-school ways work the best. I'm not suggesting that you roll your hair with frozen orange juice cans, but I am going back to the basics; namely, the much maligned pink foam roller.

Goody Satin-Covered Foam Rollers are available in Jumbo and Large sizes and is a definite nod to the past, while adding a new twist in this update. The classic foam rollers are updated in black satin, which means the end of tangled tresses, damaged strands and frizzy ends. The satin wrap helps to provide a smooth curl and the rollers are comfortable enough to sleep in. I don't need to fuss with a blow dryer or sit under a hood dryer to style my hair with soft, bouncy curls. The large size is perfect for my length of hair, but it would be nice if Goody offered these in small and medium sizes for women who have shorter 'dos.

These satin-wrapped foam rollers work best for me with hair that is slightly damp after shampooing and conditioning. ...

I was super-unimpressed with this year's LUSH holiday lineup and refrained from buying more than a small handful of the products to try. I recently picked up 3 of their So White Bath Bombs in a "buy one, get two free" sale. There wasn't much that I was interested in trying, but I liked the scent of this reasonably-priced product.

According to the company's description, LUSH So White Bath Bomb "is made with an uplifting fragrance of refreshing oranges, apples and romantic rose and is meant to awake you if you've been under a spell." I liked the fact that it had a pleasant green apple-type fragrance which is why I decided to bring a few of them home.

Unfortunately, the performance of the So White Bath Bomb left a lot to be desired. It did impart a bit of fresh apple fragrance to the immediate bath area, but the water softening and overall relaxation experience was lacking. Each one of these LUSH Bath Bombs cost $3.95, but I have to say that I don't think that they are even worth...

I'm not ashamed to admit that I spent a great deal of my high school years trying to avoid the dreaded "high-waters" pants (also known as "floods"). At nearly 5 ft 10 inches tall, most women's pants were about 4 to 5 inches too short for me. Back in the day, it was common practice for me to iron out the hem of all of my pants, wear only flats, and pray that any shrinkage was minimal. Even now that jeans in tall sizes are more easily attainable, casual lounging pants are still scarce. That is, until I found Old Navy Women's Micro Performance Fleece Pants online at oldnavy.com. I was so happy I thought for a moment that I heard angels singing.

Okay, so the fleece pants are not really anything to sing about. Quality-wise, the fabric is soft but thin, there are no pockets, and currently there are only three colors available. Still, they come with a 35-inch inseam! That's even a bit long for me--they'd probably even work for a woman in the 6-ft tall range.

I bought two of these drapery rods at JC Penney to cover a large picture window and a patio door. Both times, the drapery rods were difficult to install. Although the Kirsch rods come with instructions, they are so unclear as to be nearly useless. However, now that the rods are installed I must admit that they do function quite well and my drapes open and close smoothly. The picture window draperies open from the center, and the patio door curtains open from the right. The combination of traverse and valance makes the Kirsch rods a good choice for both my window and door. Some highlights:
