MRSverret says "If you like the smell of suntan lotion you will like this" about Lavanila Vanilla Coconut Body Butter

On my recent order to Sephora I used my points to get a free deluxe sample of my choosing. I decided to get Lavanila Vanilla Coconut Body Butter. I love coconut and lotions and I also really like the idea of this lotion being all-natural.

I received a 1 oz. trial size but an 8.5 oz. size will cost you $25. It's available for purchase at Sephora, Lavanila.com and a few other sites. This lotion is made of all-natural ingredients. There are no petrochemicals, phthalates, propylene glycol, mineral oils, silicone, synthetic dyes, sulfates or parabens. A few of the ingredients this lotion does contain is cocoa seed butter, olive oil, beeswax, goji powder and Shea butter.

When I picked this sample I was expecting a creamy vanilla coconut scent. But when I opened the tube, it smells more like suntan lotion. The website describes the body butter as, " an island breeze of exotic coconut, Tahitian Tiare flower and warm Madagascar vanilla that softly scent skin." I smell lots of coconut but...
...

RudiXeno says "Bosch Nexxt 500 Plus: The Right Front Loader" about Bosch Nexxt 500 Plus WFMC5301UC Front Load Washer

A couple of years ago, when our house saw its 20th birthday, several of our major appliances were growing long in the tooth. For the past few years we have noticed that they needed more frequent repair. But now they were beginning to fail. First to go was our GE Dishwasher. After careful research we settled on a Bosch Evolution 500 Series as its replacement.

Next came our washing machine. Our Kenmore Top Loader had served us well. It's no longer common to find washing machines that will last for 2 decades. But now it was beginning to rust out and the time had come to replace it.

Perhaps 10 years ago we might have marched into Sears and purchased an updated version of the top loader we owned. But we were looking for something that was more efficient both in terms of water usage and energy consumed.

The Search

Over the last several years I've read and rated over a thousand reviews of washing machines. With all that experience I found that information has a way of sticking....
...

RudiXeno says "Mitchum Clear Gel Antiperspirant & Deodorant: A Family Choice" about Mitchum Clear Gel Antiperspirant & Deodorant - Rain Storm

Recently, when I was at the market I found our Mitchum Clear Gel Antiperspirant & Deodorant nowhere to be found and so we "settled" on Degree Invisible Stick - Cool Rush. We liked it, but still our Antiperspirant & Deodorant of choice remains Mitchum Clear Gel in the Rain Storm Scent.

Living in South Florida, we find that a deodorant itself isn't enough. We prefer a combination deodorant/antiperspirant. Ideally, it should be a product that the whole family both can and want to use. For us that product is Mitchum Clear Gel Antiperspirant & Deodorant.

Mitchum Clear Gel Antiperspirant & Deodorant in the Rain Storm scent goes on as a light gel that is quickly absorbed into the skin. The active antiperspirant ingredient, Aluminum Sesquichlorohydrate, is mild and temporarily fills the pores through which you would ordinarily perspire.

What We Like

The alcohol-free, quick drying formula is mild enough for the Xeno women to use the product soon after shaving underarms. Unlike many...
...

RudiXeno says "ForceFlex Quick-Tie: Not quite ready for prime-time" about Glad Forceflex Quick Tie Kitchen Trash Bags

Not too long ago I tried Glad's ForceFlex Tall Kitchen Trash Bags. This was the variety that came with the familiar drawstring. Having previously pretty much stuck with the Publix store brand, I had to say I was impressed. In fact I tested them for their strength and found that they could easily hold four 1 gallon bottles of water weighing just over 32 lb. My Publix bags couldn't.

So it wasn't long before I found Glad ForceFlex bags on deep sale in the local BJ's Wholesale Club. A box of a million or so bags (actually "only" 140) for a very reasonable price.

All Glad ForceFlex Bags are not created equal

Had I looked carefully I would have noticed that these bags had no familiar red draw-string. Sure they had the signature criss-cross pattern from which they derive their incredible strength, but no draw-string. In its place were four elongated flaps that could be tied together in order to seal the bag closed. As far as I was concerned, I didn't think it was going to be much...
...

The Xenos just love to entertain. Give me an audience to demonstrate my cooking chops and I'm all set.

And after the meal is done what's better than to savor a good cup of coffee.

"Who wants decaf?' queries Veronica. "G_o_o_o_d G_a_a_d!" I scream in my head, apparently channeling Norman Thayer from On Golden Pond. Great! Now I have to put up two pots. We have plenty of coffee makers around so that's not the problem.

Alfi Juwels
Alfi has been producing elegant carafes since 1918. They were first used almost exclusively on the Pullman cars of American railroads. They are constructed in Germany and feature double walled glass liners that are guaranteed to keep liquids either hot or cold for up to 12 hours. Each carafe has...
...

RudiXeno says "Magic Jack: It worked for me" about Magic Jack

About a year ago a friend and business associate was over with his wife for a Sunday evening dinner.

After dinner we were talking about his business when he asked if I might be able to help him out by making some Public Relations telephone calls for him. So we discussed what the message would be and got that all squared away. He went out to his car and when he returned he tossed a little silver gizmo to me and said, "use this to make the calls."

It was a Magic Jack. His business is in Ft. Lauderdale and of course I live in Boca Raton (another County). It'll look better on the caller ID he claimed. He plugged it into my laptop, we spent just a few minutes setting it up and we plugged a corded phone into it. To test it I called my daughter in New York. She heard me loud and clear and her caller ID identified the call as originating in Ft. Lauderdale.

VOIP on the cheap

MRSverret says "I am very impressed with this concealer" about Mark. Good Riddance Hook Up Concealer

I recently ordered some things from Avon and one of the things I purchased was a mark Good Riddance Hook Up Concealer. I've had a hard time finding a good concealer to cover up my under-eye circles and this one claimed to do a good job at that so I decided to try it.

The mark Good Riddance is an oil-free concealer that comes in a short wide stick. It's about 2 inches tall and 1/2 inch wide. The net wet is .087 oz. I really like the size. It's easy to just throw in your purse or make up bag and it doesn't take up much space. The cost is $6 and it's available from Avon or mark.

There are four shades available fair/light, light/medium, medium/deep and deep. The stick glides on really smooth and leaves behind a natural looking color that covers but isn't too think or greasy.

I use it primarily for under my eyes and it works really good. I just blend it in with a brush and it lasts all day. I think the mark Good Riddance Hook Up Concealer is great. I will be buying more of this and definitely...
...

About a month ago I purchased Yes to Carrots Conditioner from drugstore.com. I was looking for a good natural conditioner that didn't break the bank. I stumbled upon Yes to Carrots and decided to try it.

The website says, "We are dedicated to providing you with the highest quality, natural ingredients. All fruits and vegetables used in the Yes To ranges are sourced from certified organic farmers to ensure we extract pure and pesticide-free goodness for you." Their products are also paraben free and not tested on animals.

The Yes to Carrots hair care is for all hair types. If you are looking for strengthening and volumizing try the Yes to Tomatoes and for color treated hair there is Yes to Cucumbers.

The products aren't expensive. For a 16.9 oz. bottle I paid $8. I've seen prices anywhere from $8-$10. Yes to Carrots Pampering Hair Mud Conditioner is made with things like Dead Sea Mud, Veggies, Honey, Olive Oil, Jojoba Oil, Orange and Almond Oil. I'll be honest with ingredients like those...
...

As I was saying just the other day, I've always loved watches, always!

Over the years I've collected quite a few. Some, like the Timex I wore while I served in the Army were quite inexpensive. On the other hand, some like my Rolex Submariner and Omega Speedmaster were very expensive. And finally, my Concord Delirium was in a price-class of its own. Truly, its purchase was an extreme act of ego and folly back during the days when I might have been given to that behavior.

But ordinarily I've always liked watches that were moderately priced and classically timeless. That's just what you get when you slip a Swiss Army Officer's Watch on your wrist.

For years our entire family has used Mitchum Clear Gel Anti Perspirant Deodorant in the Rain Forest scent. It worked for me as it did my wife and daughter.

But recently when at the store it was missing. I hate that! And so of course rather than going to another store I looked over the alternatives. While I wanted something that all of us could use, I'll confess. I was mostly thinking about myself. Typical guy huh?

Degree Invisible Stick Anti-perspirant & Deodorant

Although I had never tried Degree, something about the packaging appealed to me. Living here in steamy South Florida I liked that it was both a anti-perspirant & deodorant. When the temperatures climb into the 90s and the humitity hovers around 100 I like staying as dry as I can while smelling fresh.

Degree Invisible Stick is of course a solid that is advanced by twisting the bottom of the dispenser.

MRSverret says "The Perfect Scent for Relaxing" about Yankee Candle Lavender Vanilla

I usually am the type of person who enjoys fruity and sweet smelling candles. But while out shopping recently, my husband told me he wanted something different for the bedroom. So we looked around trying to find a scent we both enjoyed. Finally we came upon Lavender Vanilla. I'm not a floral person but him and I both agreed that we liked the scent.

We purchased the 3.7 oz jar candle for $10. That size will last for 25-40 hours. This scent is available in the jar candles, tumblers, reed diffusers, concentrated room sprays, tarts, tea lights, air fresheners and hand sanitizers.

The website has this to say about the Lavender Vanilla, "An oasis of tranquility ... the perfect mix of fresh lavender and warm vanilla with musk and bergamot." This scent is very relaxing. I'm not sure if I smell the musk and bergamot but I definitely smell the sweet vanilla and relaxing lavender. I think it's the perfect scent to have in a bedroom or bathroom.

As long as I can remember I've loved watches and timepieces in general. It probably started when I'd watch my grandfather fiddle with his gold pocketwatch.

I used to love those John Cameron Swayze Timex commercials on early TV. "Takes a licking but keeps on ticking!" OK, so maybe only a few of you will remember them.

Over the years I developed a collection of watches. Yes, I started out with very inexpensive watches, but as the years went by I started picking up more expensive watches as well. Rolex, Omega, Concord were my favorites and predictably I started spending more money on my watches.

A not so unique problem

One of my problems with regard to watches is that I'm left handed and have never learned to wear a watch on my right hand. And, being the physical guy I am, I'm hard on my watches. I've come to realise that a good, rugged, handsome everyday watch is a must for me. During these trying financial times an attractive price is a good thing too.

MRSverret says "A refreshing natural apple scent" about Glade The Fragrance Collection by Glade - Mcintosh Apple Soy Candle

I love candles that have a sweet smell to them. The Fragrance Collection by Glade has a McIntosh Apple scent so I took one whiff of the scent and was in love.

This candle is a soy candle and it's 92.4% natural. I picked up a 4.9 oz jar and the cost was around $6. This size will burn up to 26 hours. The candle comes in a small, somewhat thick, glass jar and it comes with a plastic lid.

The scent is spot on. There's no artificial smell. It smells just like fresh, crisp, tart apples. When the candle is lit the fragrance fills my home. With the small size of this candle it's perfect for small areas of the house but works in larger areas too.

I really liked this candle. It's has a great smell and it's 92.4% natural which means you're doing something good for you and the environment. I definitely recommend trying out The Fragrance Collection by Glade McIntosh Apple, especially if you like Yankee Candle MacIntosh Apple.
...

MRSverret says "The perfect scent for Christmas time" about Febreze Apple Spice & Delight Candle

Since it's Christmas time, I wanted to get a scent for the holidays. I like to decorate for the Holidays and I like to finish it off with my house smelling the part too.

I seen the Febreze Apple Cinnamon & Delight candle on sale for $5 so I decided to pick it up. The red candle comes in a thick glass. It doesn't have any logos or stickers on it.

Febreze candles have an odor eliminating core so when you burn them you don't just cover up odors you neutralize them and freshen your house. The 5.5 oz jar that I bought will last up to 30 hours.

The box describes the scent as, "Red apples bobbing in a rain-filled barrel Apple Spice & Delight entices like crisp fruit fresh from the orchard." I don't get a fresh apple scent but I like it. It's a very warm and inviting scent.

The Febreze Apple Spice & Delight Candle is the perfect candle for the holidays. Febreze candles are good candles and they are cheap. I definitely recommend trying this one.
...

MRSverret says "Try it, you will not be disappointed!" about Bolthouse Farm Vanilla Chai Tea, With Soy Protein, 33.80 fl oz

The other day while shopping I noticed Bolthouse Farms Vanilla Chai Tea. I briefly skimmed the label and thought I would like it. I was right, this stuff is awesome!

For around $4 I bought a 32 oz. bottle. The bottle says it's a blend of green tea, soy protein and chai spices that is naturally sweetened with vanilla. The drink is all natural. There are no preservatives, artificial ingredients and it's dairy free.

The chai tea has lots of vitamins and it's low fat. In 8 oz. you get 160 calories, 28 fat calories, 3 grams of fat and 1 gram of saturated fat. There's 60 grams of sodium, 21 grams sugar, 530 grams of potassium, and 10 grams of protein. In addition it has 30% Calcium, 200% Vitamin B6, 20% Magnesium, 150% Vitamin C, 15% Iron, 180% Vitamin B12 and 20% Zinc.

The drink is a little thick. It looks and sort of tastes like a thin egg nog. I love it and will be buying more. I definitely recommend this tasty drink.
...

Jolie says "buyuggsboot.net is a scam! Ugg Boots from China that are fake." about www.buyuggsboot.net

Background on Buyuggsboot.net

A friend of mine at Viewpoints recently passed along a site called www.buyuggsboot.net. She found it online. www.buyuggsboot.net is a web site that sells all styles of Ugg Boots at discounted prices.

We werent certain if www.buyuggsboot.net were the real or not. But after a thorough review of the site, we thought it was legit. Buyuggsboot.net looks like a reasonable reseller of Ugg Boots. The page is designed well, the pictures look authentic and they make claim to having the real deal. They also consistently site throughout the web site having customer satisfaction commitments.

To add to the thought it was authentic, the pricing seemed good but not amazing. As you probably know a typical pair of Ugg Boots cost about $110. On Buyuggsboot.net the cost was $89.00- approximately a $20 savings. Seemed like a good deal, but they werent so cheap that I thought it could be scam. As an aside, last year Nordstrom had a similiar sale on Ugg boots so the pricing seemed...
...
