In August of this year I lost a really special friend to a tragic accident. Brannigan and I were on the same dance team for the last four years and this year we began dating prior to him returning to Australia for a visit with his family. He was involved in an ATV accident that claimed his life and I was left with only the memories of having danced with him and loved him for a short time.

After staying with friends and family for a week I returned to work and went to the post office to check my mail. I had a package to pick up and it was from Brannigan. It seems that while he was in Australia he sent me the "I Wish You" porcelain angel by Bradford Exchange. Along with the angel was a card that said, "Sending you this angel to watch over you until I can hold you in my arms again." He didn't know that I was going to meet him at the Atlanta airport so he mailed me this package as a way of letting me know he was thinking about me and would be seeing me again. Being single, I don't have to do laundry that often and it's probably one of the household chores that I don't care for that much. I love the smell of fresh laundry but I hate the folding and putting away. About a year ago I reviewed the Ultra Downy Tahitian Waterfall fabric softener. I loved that stuff but as is the case with me; I think they discontinued it so I went back to the original April Fresh for months. I stayed clear of the Simple Pleasures for some time because they were always too intense for me. But then the other day I saw this beautiful burgundy bottle. It was Ultra Downy Simple Pleasures: Spice Blossom Dare. I decided to see what it smelled like. I opened the cap and wow! It smelled wonderful. I don't quite know how to describe it; except to say if you have ever smelled Bath and Body Works Twilight Woods then this closely resembles it.

The scent is classy and elegant but not too overwhelming if you are washing men's clothes. It's like an outdoorsy...

I read PattyTherre's review on her mascara (read it here) and I fell in love with everything she said about it. Many know that since joining Viewpoints every time I read a mascara review I will usually refer back to my wonderful L'Oreal Voluminous; which I had been using for about 2-3 years. You can read JasyJen's review on Voluminous here. I never read any other reviews that made me say, "I've just got to have that mascara" until I read Patty's on the L'Oreal Telescopic Explosion. Not only did I have to have it but I went on a journey trying to find it. If you have read our comments during the past week you will see what I mean.

I started off at Walmart and found the L'Oreal Telescopic Original. Don't pick this up thinking you are getting what Patty reviewed. This is in a gold tube and has the standard brush. Back in 2001 I bought a complete line of L'Oreal makeup and within two days I discovered that I couldn't wear the eyeshadow. It had some sort of fragrance in it that irritated my eyelids and the skin literally peeled off. I knew it was the makeup because once I quit using it my eyes cleared up within days. I returned to my old faithful Clinique and was content for years. But then I bought a new home and decided that I needed to cut some corners and went back to my drugstore makeup versus the elite lines. I have done well until last week.

I was in need of eyeshadow and mascara. PattyTherre had posted an awesome review on the L'Oreal Telescopic Explosion mascara and I just knew I had to get me some. Yesterday I went to see the Michael Jackson movie This Is It. I won't take a lot of your time to tell you how wonderful it is. Check out my review or better yet; go see it and then tell us what you think. During the movie I was introduced to some songs that he had performed but they were new to me. I enjoyed MJ's music during the 80s and early 90s. I have several MJ CDs and probably wouldn't have bought this soundtrack; except for one reason: They were releasing This Is It and Earth Song.

This evening was our monthly girls night out and before the movie we went over to Walmart to pick up a few things and kill some time. I decided to go to electronics and see if they had the soundtrack and they did. I saw a $10 and $14.88 CD. I "think" the $10 was being advertised as a Walmart exclusive. After getting my hair cut I decided to go shopping. At some point I ended up at Walmart, of course! I went to the hair products to get some shampoo and wound up looking at curling irons. I knew I would be curling my hair on a daily basis now but I also knew that at home I had a basket in my linen closet with tons of curling irons and probably really didn't need a new one. But then I saw it! Was it a light from Heaven? No! It was the Bed Head line of curling irons and there before me was the most beautiful pink curling iron I had ever seen. Well, I must confess. I didn't hesitate to pick one up. My hairstylist told me to be sure to use a ceramic curling iron so as not to burn the ends. Hmm...are any of my curling irons at the house ceramic? I'm not sure. Almost two weeks ago I made a drastic change by getting 17 1/2 inches cut off the length of my hair. With that came a new look and a new routine. I now have to get up each morning and plug a curling iron in and curl the ends of my hair and style it. Big Dogs clothing has been around since 1983 but I never heard of it back then. Five years ago I began going to the Myrtle Beach Bike Rally with my older brothers and I would see the Big Dog transporters with all their motorcycles. So, I thought it was like the Harley Davidson's Hog competitor. Then I noticed the t-shirts but still thought it was to advertise the motorcycle. About two years later my brother and sister-in-law went to the mountains of NC for the Thanksgiving holidays and while there they brought me and several of the girls from church back some goodies. Well, obviously they had gone to a Big Dogs store because everything was Big Dogs. They brought us glow-in-the-dark Christmas t's, canvas totes and sweatshirts. I got lucky because one of the sweatshirts was a youth size that didn't fit the girl they wanted to give it to so I got my sweatshirt (junior small) and the youth (12/14).

You've probably seen them around and didn't think much about them. You may have thought the pictures and/or the tin cans looked old and they are supposed to. You may have been surprised to see that the cans might range in price from $1-10. And after you read this review you will probably notice them more and know just how wanted they are. There are websites that advertise the patterns that people are looking for and the funny thing is that I have two of those patterns.

I was introduced to the Bristolware Tin Cans by a friend who had a collection that was out of this world. She had them displayed on the beams in her log house. About two weeks ago my friend/coworker, Melody, and I went to Kmart to pick up a few things during lunch. She was needing shaving cream and while she was looking over the various products I noticed the Skintimate Moisturizing Cream Shave Cashmere Rain for Dry Skin. It was on sale for 2/$5 and was usually $3.99 each so I thought this was a really good deal. I had seen it at Walmart a few weeks earlier and made a mental note that when I needed more shaving cream I was going to buy it. Well, I didn't really need the shaving cream but with the sale price I couldn't pass it up. So, I bought two and gave one to Melody. We were both going to use it and then tell the other what we thought. She knows I write for Viewpoints so I thought I might put her thoughts into the review too.

Okay, I know that PattyTherre and I were going to see the Michael Jackson movie This Is It on the same day. I haven't read her review yet but I will as soon as I finish mine. Going to this movie was interesting for me. First of all, my coworker couldn't go so I ended up going by myself yesterday. Then I got there and we soon realized that I was the only one in the theater. I sent a message to Patty on Twitter and let her know I was in the movie by myself. A private showing perhaps?

I was given a commemorative laminated backstage pass on a lanyard so it looked all official like the press people wear. Being in the theater by myself was an opportunity of a lifetime; especially since it was a concert. I was able to keep my cell phone on and I would call my friends and let them hear Michael perform certain songs. Several months ago when my new dance season began I noticed that my joints were aching more after hours of practice. I had to take into consideration that I was a bone cancer survivor and that I have had Lupus since I was 21 so it was apparent that with lots of physical activity and having an illness that effects my joints and connective tissues was going to one day take its toll on my body; especially my bones and joints. So, after seeing commercials on TV for Glucosamine I decided to try a product. I settled on Schiff Glucosamine Gelcaps because I was able to get a bottle with 166 gelcaps for approximately $16-18 and taking 2 a day meant the bottle would last me for almost 3 months. And the other perk was this came in a gelcap. I don't tend to stomach vitamins well so I thought I would be good to go.

Writing this review stirs a very interesting thought in my mind. I just did an item search to see if the CD already existed and I was totally taken by surprise to see that not only didn't it exist but no other Amy Grant music was recommended. If you are a contemporary Christian fan or a fan of Vince Gill then most likely you know who Amy Grant is. Amy Grant was married to Gary Chapman for years but now has been married to Vince Gill for years. If you know contemporary Christian music you will also know that Amy Grant is also a contemporary to Michael W. Smith.

Amy Grant was one of the early leading ladies in contemporary Christian music. I knew of her name as well as Sandi Patty and Twila Paris back in the '80s and Amy Grant is probably best known by her signature song, El Shaddai. During the 90s she crossed over to the pop genre as she introduced Baby Baby and Every Heartbeat to a new generation. Okay, I'm giving too much information.

I have been using St. Ives Invigorating Apricot Scrub for years so why would I be using the Walmart brand? Well, it seems St. Ives changed their design and when I went looking for it I didn't see it on the shelf but I did see Equate's Refreshing Apricot Scrub for $2.97 for a 6 oz tube. The tube is a flip-top and the scrub squeezes out easily.

Anyone that knows me or has read many of my beauty product reviews knows that I love the exfoliates. I have dry skin so I am always taking any opportunity I can to rid myself of it. Like a snake shedding its skin that's what I do.

The scrub is gentle enough for all skin types but it does have the exfoliating beads that you can feel rubbing your face like sandpaper when you wash it. This product claims to be oil free; which amazes me because after I rinse my face off it is so smooth that I swear I have applied an oil-based cleanser.
