I thank my lucky stars as fuel prices have almost doubled since then. <br/><br/>Also the car is fun to drive. I live on the side of a mountain in a rural area in New Jersey (yes there are rural areas in NJ). My car outperforms many luxury vehicles on the twisting roads I use to get anywhere. <br/><br/>Since I acquired the car the average MPG is in excess of 52 MPG. At current diesel prices this works out to be slightly greater than $0.05 per mile. My wife has a gasoline version and it is costing in excess of $0.10 per mile for fuel<br/>...
