flutesUD says "THE meeting place for PhD students the world over!" about PhD Comics

The comics are so representative of PhD student trials and tribulations. Comics published 3 times weekly on average, the whole archive's online -- start reading and never leave! 3 books also available for purchase from Amazon for example. — — The online forum is where I spend many hours procrastinating, learning things, documenting my behavior, answering polls....just FUN to the...

flutesUD says "Yummy italian food at a good price!" about Johnny Carino's Italian Grill - Austin, TX

Johnny Carino's is where I treat myself after a long week or to celebrate something. The food is fantastic, especially the bread with the roasted garlic and olive oil. The salad's always fresh, and of course the entrees are tasty and filling. They are enormous -- I usually have leftovers which is a good thing since I get 2 meals for about $20 usually. ...

flutesUD says "The ultimate online store!" about Amazon.com

Anything you want pretty much can be found on amazon, for cheaper than many brick and mortar stores. I just bought a game for ~$10 cheaper than even WalMart!!!!! — — I love the wish list option to keep track of stuff I might buy in the future. And the recommendations can be hilarious or stupid, depending on your browsing habits. — — I'm addicted! I could spend $100s on amazon if I wasn't careful! —...

flutesUD says "Southwestern quiet city" about Albuquerque, New Mexico

I stayed at the Hyatt downtown when I visited in August for a conference. The convention center is an average conference location. Thank goodness for free wifi there. — — The Hyatt was great, but the surrounding area kinda sucked at night, since nothing was open late and I was told its kinda dangerous around there. — — Also stayed at the Hilton on a cheaper rate. Was not impressed at all, other than the nice pool and spa which was one redeeming quality. Expensive restaurant and nothing special. And oh yeah, the world's hardest bed. Not recommended. —...

When this model came out, it was the ultimate in coolness. Now, its still a reliable worthy player, but the newer models are more flashy. 40GB hard drive means you can store pretty much everything.... — — It can double as an external hard drive too. —...
