For the features as well as the affordability, the Proform 580 seemed to fit the bill. We went to our local Sears store and the salesperson was extremely helpful and knowledgable about the treadmills, answering each question and addressing every concern we confronted him with. We looked at some of the less expensive treadmills, but they really didn't offer the features that we were looking for, so we moved on to the Proform 580. Regularly priced at $899 it seemed to be a good deal as it was on sale for $599. We were very happy about the price, to say the least! We opted for the 3 year extended warranty, because a technician will come to our home once a year for maintenance as well as repairs within the 3 year period.
