everybodyhasone says "The tried and true diet for everyone" about Weight Watchers

My weight has always been up and down. I was a fat baby, a scrawny, awkward pre-teen, then a chubby teenager. I married had my children, lost weight, gained weight, lost weight, gained weight. While I was never huge, I was still on that yo-yo of never being able to maintain a consistent weight and size. It was frustrating.

My daughters have inherited my same weight problem. When my daughter was in high school she and I made the decision to join Weight Watchers. She is a petite 5'3". I am a little taller at 5'5". In about two months, she had lost over 20 pounds and I lost 15. That put me at my goal weight and I am now a lifetime member. For a teenager, a loss of 20 pounds on her petite frame was awesome! It made such a difference in her self esteem.

She does gain and lose, even now. However, we know that we can manage our weight healthily with the knowledge we gained at the Weight Watchers meetings. I know that some people may read this and say, "Ah, you were...
...

everybodyhasone says "Education gets serious at the University of Georgia!" about The University of Georgia

My daughter attended the University of Georgia. She left a small high school in a small town then went to Athens to live on campus (which was required). Her freshman year was an eye-opener. She had breezed through high school. She quickly realized that she would not breeze through college. The night-life and other attractions in Athens were a definite distraction. She found it difficult to avoid them and soon she was struggling in her academic efforts. She is a very, very smart girl. UGA is a very good school. However, it is not unlike any other school. Young people who go there right out of high school and experience freedom away from their parents often make the mistake of neglecting their priorities and wind up forgetting what they were there for.

My daughter left UGA, not because she didn't love the school. She married her Marine boyrfriend and is now at the North Carolina State. She's doing much better in school now that she's matured. Some kids are able...
...
