everd says "I hate stainless steel appliances, remind me of school kitchens" about Stainless Steel Kitchen Appliances

Okay, so I go against the grain. I used to work in the kitchen of a school and of course everything was stainless steel. The stainless steel appliances remind me of the coldness of that kitchen, plus, they're hard to keep streak free. I just don't understand why they are so popular.
...

everd says "Too much work to clean it each day" about Cuisinart Grind and Brew - Thermal Coffee Maker

At first I used this coffee maker to make freshly ground coffee. The coffee tasted great, but there were always grounds in the bottom of the pot so I couldn't drink the last 1/2 cup in the pot. I got tired of washing all the parts every day and I don't have a dishwasher, so I have to wash them by hand. So, I started using it to make coffee without using the grinder. There are less parts to wash, and sometimes I just take the parts out of the machine and let them dry out in between making coffee. But, there are still grounds in my coffee, what's the deal with that? I never had that happen with any other coffee maker and I don't like that fact. When this coffee maker takes a dive, which it will someday, I will try another brand to replace it.
...

everd says "I always find what I need from this magazine" about Consumer Reports

I have been a subscriber to Consumer Reports for many years. I refer to it whenever I want to buy a new product, especially a TV, washing machine, dryer, etc. If I hadn't referred to this magazine when I bought my new washer and dryer, I would have bought a repair-prone washer. I do believe their ratings are unbiased, however, some of their other articles do show some bias, but I can overlook that as long as the ratings are unbiased. I like the fact that they also look at small items, like peanut butter, as an example and tell you the best buys for types of food, etc. I never would have tried an off brand of peanut butter had I not read about it in Consumer Reports.I am constantly digging out the old magazines to re read the reviews when I decide I need to buy something new....

everd says "TV Guide, what tv guide?" about TV Guide

I received this subscription as a gift from my daughter. What a useless magazine, the only thing it is good for is reading articles about tv shows and finding out if the show is a rerun or not. There is hardly anything in there about movies, no listings during the night, don't they know that the movie channels show movies all night? I watch TCM more than any other channel and I can't even find the movies listed, I have to go to TCM's website and print out their monthly guide. So I don't even need this worthless magazine. If I want to read all the other gossip I can read one of many entertainment magazines out there. I thought this magazine would tell me what is on tv, why is it called tv guide!?! In case you haven't figured it out, I won't be renewing this magazine....

everd says "A fun way to make pizza" about Presto Pizzazz Pizza Oven Model 03430

I heard about this PIzza PIzzaz from my dughter. She told me how you can bake pizza in less time because you don't have to preheat your oven. I found this to be true, it takes much less time to bake because my oven takes at least a half an hour to heat up to 400 degrees. Not only does it save on preheating, it is great in the summer when the kitchen is already hot and you don't want to heat it up anymore by turning on a hot oven. It really doesn't take up a lot of space in your cupboard because you can stand the pizza pan on it's side. The only thing I don'l like is that you have to fiddle with it to get it centered on the dealie, sometimes it's really hard to do. But, I always manage to get it on there. I found that I like to cook the bottom more than the top and you can do that easily by selecting just the lower heat, then you can change it to both. That way I get my crispy crust that I like....

everd says "The best sewing machine I've ever owned" about Bernina Sewing Machine - 1630

I upgraded my old Bernina for the Bernina 1630. I has been quite awhile since I wanted a new sewing machine and I finally decided it was now or never. My Bernina dealer is very helpful, they take trade ins and give a good price for your old machine. This Bernina has lots of features that my old machine did not have. I may not use all of them, but they are there if I need them. Sewing on this Bernina is a dream and if it performs like my previous Bernina sewing machines, I won't have many problems with it. And if I do, the Bernina dealer has always done repairs like cleaning or minor adjustments for free. They always give you free lessons on the new machine (or used) that you buy, so you know how to use the machine properly. I am very happy with my Bernina....
