escapegal says "Get a caffeine high in 0-30 seconds!" about Keurig Coffee Maker - Ultra B50 1-Cup

The Keurig coffe maker is on my Top 5 list of the best inventions of the 21st century. Easy to use, easy to clean, easy to refill. The Keurig is also great because you don't HAVE to buy the expensive one-use K-Cups if you don't want to. You can use any kind of coffee, tea, hot chocolate, etc. and still make a fast, quality cup of...anything! My legally-blind aunt owns one, and has no trouble navigating the handle, buttons, or refill water tank. My senior citizen neighbor has one and can finally enjoy coffee without having to handle a heavy glass carafe or trying to get the right measurement of coffee. I love that I can make myself a cup as I'm on my way out the door, or after a tiring day at work, or when I come home from a long night of partying...and it always comes out great!...

escapegal says "Great for the whole neighborhood" about Garmin - Nuvi 200

I bought my 70-something dad a GPS for Christmas last year. It was a Garmin i-series, which is apparently discontinued. That model was not pre-loaded, and would only hold maps for PA, MD, OH, WV & parts of NY. So I returned that one and got the Nuvi 200W. What a difference! The touchscreen is great, and I like how you can either see a full-screen map or a split-screen with half map and half written directions. The voice is loud and clear, and with over 6 million attractions, you can't go wrong in finding a restaurant, place to shop or hotel while on your trip. The icons on the screen are large enough that you don't hit the wrong one. If you don't want to permanently hook this unit to the dash or windshield, the available bean bag is stable and affordable at around $20.

In the 3 months my father has had this unit, he has gone from Pennsylvania to North Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee (with a few day trips around PA). Disregarding a few turns that would have taken him...
...

escapegal says "Great mpg, bad curb clearance" about Suzuki Aerio - 2006

I bought my Suzuki at a low time in my life. I was maxed out on filling up my Santa Fe, driving 250 miles a week, and hearing Al Gore in my ear EVERY DAY...so I went on a crusade. I live in rural Pennsylvania, so I need a 4x4 or AWD. Trust me, I've tried to make it the mile up my dirt road without one. It ain't pretty. Anyway, I test-drove the Aerio in 3-inch snow, and it went through it like an SUV. I've made it the whole way through winter and didn't get stuck once. My only issue is that the car has virtually no clearance. I have to park a door-length away from the island to pump gas, walk to my mailbox, and slow down anytime there is something that may or may not be dead in the middle of the road...

Great gas mileage, though. I get 26 mpg city, haven't done any heavy-duty highway driving yet, but I'll let you know when I do!

Overall, I love the car (although I have had some issues with protecting my coolness when people see me pulling up in it; it's ok, though. I have...
...

escapegal says "Stuck between a cell phone and a hard place" about Verizon Wireless Network

While I am happy with the coverage I get with Verizon, I (like many others) hate dealing with the company. I inherited my cell phone-- without an owner's manual, charger, or anything. Customer "service" couldn't/wouldn't help me with any of my questions regarding features, voice mail access or WTF this one symbol meant.

Also, I am very wary of a company who, with all the competition there is, refuses to allow people the freedom to choose them willingly. Why do they force you to take a 2-year contract? Why are their monthly plans still exorbitant compared to others? Why do they only allow one user in a family plan the free phone every 2 years when you can practically get one with a pack of bagels at the supermarket? Because they know that if you sign on the dotted line before researching (extensively) other plans, many people would never sign!!

Ultimately, the coverage is not worth re-upping for me. 8 more months, and I am an Independent Agent once again!!!
...
