drterrynd says "One of my most frequently used health references" about Prescription for Nutritional Healing

Of all my many natural health reference books, this is the one that I reach for the most often. An earlier edition of this book was used as one of my textbooks in naturopathic school. A wide variety of health conditions are explained and natural treatment recommendations are given for each. Diets and other natural treatments are also discussed. The Balch's also have other terrific books on herbal remedies and...

drterrynd says "Fun place to shop. Awesome selection at great prices!" about Amazon.com

A fun place to comparison shop and get great bargains! And before buying especially books on auctions, I always check amazon.com first to make sure I don't bid more than an item is worth. Service is usually very fast. I also like the Wish Lists. I have family out of state and it makes it easier to both give and receive the gifts that one really wants. My family shares Wish Lists and we know that we will be purchasing items that the recipient really wants....

drterrynd says "I've earned $100s of gift cards over the years with MyPoints." about MyPoints

I saved-up MyPoints and just used them to get $150 in gift cards from Home Depot, which we used to buy enough fencing for our backyard to keep our 2 dogs in. Over the past several years, I've also gotten gift cards from Overstock.com and Barnes & Noble. I even used the accumulated points for the past two Christmases when I was really short of cash and gave the points to my son to order whatever he wanted with the points available. Points are easy to earn -- many are earned simply by clicking on links to other websites. No purchase is usually necessary to get points, though, of course, more points are earned faster with purchases. There are other websites that offer points and rewards for reading emails and visiting other websites, but in my opinion, MyPoints is the easiest and best....

drterrynd says "A great, easy way to fill-in those gaps in your daily diet!" about Juice Plus+ Fruit and Vegetable Supplements

I and my family have been taking Juice Plus for over 10 years and it's one of the few supplements I take on a daily basis. Although, as a naturopath, I know the important foods to eat to stay healthy, with a busy lifestyle it's not always easy to eat as well as I know I should. This helps to fill-in those gaps. Of course, one wants to eat well; but in reality, we know that this doesn't always happen. Also, living in Wisconsin, many healthy fruits and vegetables are not available year-round. And, we tend to eat the foods we like -- not necessarily those which are most nutrient-dense. If you don't like the taste of a particular food, you probably won't eat it -- at least not very often. In addition, those people who try to maintain a low-carbohydrate diet may be missing out on some important foods that also happen to have a high sugar content/glycemic index like carrots or most fruits. Juice Plus takes out the water, the waste and most of the sugars naturally found in raw...

drterrynd says "BEWARE: drug with potentially severe & long withdrawal symptoms." about Paxil

I have been a mental health practitioner for over 15 years and have seen many clients who suffered extremely severe withdrawal symptoms. Often, these symptoms prolonged for many months after discontinuing the Paxil. The longer a person is on the drug, the higher the potential for these severe withdrawal symptoms. Because of the severity of the withdrawal, people often chose to go back on the drug because their lives have been so badly damaged by this awful drug. If you or someone you know is prescribed this drug, do not think that just because it is so widely advertised and prescribed that it is also safe. And if you are considering discontinuing this drug, do so VERY slowly and only with professional guidance. Many of my clients required gradual weaning from the medication over the course of several MONTHS. So don't be surprised if you feel as if you are taking two steps forward and one step back at times. Everyone is unique and some people are more sensitive than...
