delindar says "Hellboy II is a waste of film" about Hellboy II

We were bored last night and decided to go see Hellboy II. Hellboy had been a pretty good movie and from what we had seen of the trailers, this one looked like it would be also. The story was ok. The acting was what you expected but.....something was missing. There was all kind of action, there was a sub story, but the spark never got ignited for me.

I would say that this is one of those movies that the producers expected to ride a coat-tail of success from the first movie, and so I really don't they spent much time on the thought process. The story was good but so involved that I think you either feel you are missing something or you really are and hope it shows up later.

I did, however, enjoy Selma Blair. Even though her performance was not spectacular, she is so cute playing the bad girl.
...

delindar says "The Dark Knight Stands Up to the Title" about The Dark Knight

First let me say that at first the only reason I wanted to see the movie was for Heath Ledger's performance. I watched the first movie two nights before deciding to go and thought wow this is different from all the other Batman movies.....much darker. It was very good and made me more "on the edge" to see the next in line.

I get to the movie, settle in, and the questions are running through my head. Will Maggie G be a good replacement for Katie Holmes? Will Heath Ledger really be as good as they say? Will the movie make me want more?

The answer to the first question came by the middle of the movie. Was Maggie G ever anything but Rachael Dawes? She brought so much more realm to the role than Katie Holmes ever could. She was the perfect blend of innocence that has seen too much. You could see the tinges on her edges.

The second answer is OMG. I would never have known that was Heath Ledger under the makeup. His mannerisms, the licking of the mouth, were just awesome. ...
...

delindar says "Total Weight Loss System" about IsaGenix Cleanse Diet Drink

One year ago I started a new program in life called Isagenix-my friend had lost 25 lbs in 6 months and Fox News in Tucson had just done a bit on the cleanse portion. I was at 220 lbs felt a change was needed and of course nothing seemed to work. Well I signed up. I thought about the beginning cost of $400 for the 9 day cleanse and the 30 day program and the fact that you would need to pay almost $300 a month for the rest of your life, but I jumped in anyways. It was the best thing I ever did.

The 9 day cleanse was really hard at first. They have you do a basic 3 days and then the grueling 9 days begins. You drink a cleansing product 4 times a day and can have 6 almonds, a little salad, or these chalky snacks that they give you. You do this for 2 straight days. The chalky snacks actually grow on you and you end up savoring them. After those two days you have a shake in the morning 600 calories of food during the day and another shake at night. By the end of 9 days I had...
...

delindar says "Paying for Bags VS Obese/Child Paying for Seats?" about American Airlines

In the last year I have flown American Airlines religiously. My husband was stationed in Texas and then off to Iraq and then finally back. So my visits to him were done on American Airlines.

I never really noticed a problem with service or care until the pillow/blankets were missing from the small American Eagle planes. I am a scaredy cat and find that sleeping gets me through the flights. I of course didn't sleep this one time. I started to carry my own pillow but now I also needed to carry a blanket.

This seems really trivial until you realize that now that you are going to pay for your checked bags you need to streamline your carryon. Well my carryon is filled with the things I used to get as part of my ticket-pillow, blanket, food, water.....therefore, I basically have to check a bag. I asked the airline how this would affect carryon and they said that if you can carry it on it won't cost you. For overnighters this isn't a problem....week trips more is needed.

Now...
...

delindar says "Not your NORMAL superhero movie" about Hancock

First off let me say that I love Will Smith in basically any role. Within the first few moments of the movie I didn't think my love would hold strong as I really didn't connect with the boozing, who gives a crap, woe is me guy he was portraying.

I really began to enjoy the movie once Jason Bateman and Smith got together. The two extremists were like oil and vinegar but when mixed what an awesome result. I began to suspect that there was something between Smith and Theron when he mentioned the movie tickets.

This is not a movie for people expecting the next superhero franchise. This is a movie about acceptance, respect, and the ability to put others before yourself. I totally loved it.

...

delindar says "Great for a Horror Musical" about Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

I loved the movie. I thought the black and white added to the sadness and revenge and provided an awesome background to the blood-letting. It is a super love story with a twist. Johnny played a perfect man done wrong. Helen was awesome as a woman keeping a secret that could have changed the whole outcome of the movie. I about cried when he almost killed his daughter and I did cry when he realized he killed his wife. It is exactly what I expected from the creative mind of Tim Burton....
