deb1234 says "The friendliest staff around!" about Paisano's Brick Oven - Lakemoor, IL

Yesterday, on the advice of a friend, my family and I tried a fairly new restaurant...Paisano's Brick Oven in Lakemoor, IL. Please don't confuse this location with their larger, fancier location in Richmond, IL. This restaurant is small but immaculately clean and nicely decorated. I think they do a huge take-out business but when dining in you do not feel like you are in a take-out joint. — I called before going there to make sure they could accomodate a party of 7 and to ask if it is ok to bring in our own birthday cake. The owner/manager (I'm sorry - I didn't get her name) was so nice. She said they would set up a special reserved table for us AND serve the cake we brought in. — When we arrived a roomy table was reserved for us. They immediately whisked the cake (actually 2 cakes) away to the kitchen so that the birthday celebrants would be surprised. They suggested we use an extra table for the gifts, camera, coats, etc. Our server was very friendly,...

deb1234 says "Best In Customer Service!" about Herrick Auto Rebuilders - Crystal Lake, IL

I recently needed car repairs after a minor accident. Carol at Herrick was super friendly when contacted by my insurance company. She promptly scheduled an appointment and arranged a rental car. When I arrived at the shop she called my insurance company because they neglected to list my rental coverage on the form. She wanted to make sure I was covered and for how much so I did not get stuck with a bill. She called the rental car company to make sure they were on the way so I would not have to wait too long. — In the meantime, Gary inspected my car with me. He made note of any damage that was not caused by the accident (I had a large scrape on the front bumber caused by me in my driveway). Gary was friendly, knowledgable and very friendly. — The office/reception area was neat and clean and there was fresh coffee available at no charge! — But the biggest surprise came when I picked up my car. Not only was the damage from the accident repaired (in a way that did not...

deb1234 says "You gotta experience the to-die-for chocolate cake!" about Honey Hill Coffee Company - Wauconda, IL

The Honey Hill Coffee Company brought great coffee, a variety of espresso drinks, an assortment of hot and cold teas and delightful baked goods to the small town of Wauconda. The owner, Patrick Cribben, bakes fresh cakes and other treats daily. He is on hand to prepare made to order drinks Monday through Saturday. — Visitors to the shop can choose the Honey Hill Blend in regular or decaf or an unlimited selection of espresso drinks. My personal favorite is an extra large (20 oz) vanilla latte with an extra shot of espresso that has just the right amount of foam on top. It is hard choosing from the selection of sweets such as buttery, flaky scones, cinnamon crunch cake, pistachio cake, pumkin squares, chunky apple muffins, and a decadent chocolate cake covered in ganache. — Do you have a favorite drink that is not on the menu? Just ask and it will be prepared the way you like it. Are you craving a flavor of muffin that is not displayed? Let Patrick know and you...
