darlyn63 says "This is one small place, tiny bathrooms. Real tiny." about Red Roof Inn - Rockford, IL

When we were house hunting, my husbands company the first time set us up at a really nice Hotel. The second trip, well lets just say you had to move a certain way once you were going into the bathroom, just to close the door. It was so tiny, I honestly don't know how a bigger person could of gotten in there, the size of the bathroom. Maybe Alice in Wonderland designed it. And she didn't live there anymore.

Actually in and out of the bathroom, never seen such a tiny space. I don't mind saving a buck or two, but his company went from one extreme to the other. Kind of felt sucked in after the first trip when we said o.k. we'll move. Seemed like a nice area, it was just this Red Roof was a real disappointment. The rooms were so tiny, I just couldn't get over the bathroom situation, and from what I recall the water pressure wasn't much better. I've been to a Red Roof Inn before but not like that one on State St. in Rockford. IL.

I just found it hard to believe the company set us up...
...

darlyn63 says "A person of variety, like many different styles, and colors" about I don't have a Favorite I like alot of styles of Handbags

I like how a handbag looks, feels, and serves it purpose for what I use it for. As I change handbags for occasions, season, and what I am wearing. I just don't care for the one's that ride the armpit, or are oversized. Those make me feel like I'm carrying a small suitcase, which I don't need. So I guess practical is what you would call is the style for me. Nothing too cheap to fall apart, yet not expensive either....

darlyn63 says "Great Bike for all types of weather, helped after having kids." about sears XC1000 Stationary Bike

We purchased this bike after I had our son 27 years ago. To help me get back into shape. Has a tension nob to turn to make riding more difficult. The only thing I ended up not liking was the seat size, my butt would get sore. My nice hubby heard me complain about this and purchased a bigger more comfy seat. I still have the bike, although I do not ride it as much as I would like to. (Kind of afraid the dogs might stick their nose in the spokes). It's lasted a long time. I've been happy. And I did get my body back after each child :~).

It's nice to have a bike for indoors, no matter what the weather, rain, snow your still able to get that workout in. One of these days I will upgrade, just as soon as I get my home in order. Then on to winning the lottery for a work out room.

Sorry all I had happy fingers. The bike is XC1000. I don't see how I can change the About title. It's old, maybe I am also...lol.
...

darlyn63 says "This has been a good dishwasher." about KitchenAid Hobart KDS-58

When we moved into our home here in Michigan, the dishwasher was 6 years old. Well we still have it, as it matches our other applicances They are all Almond Colored. To me it's a nuetral color and still appeals to me. Have only had to replace the springs for the door twice, one on each side. All in all it's be dependable, still cleans my dishes very well. So I am a happy camper! No compliants here. Why replace something that isn't broken, the look is just fine by us. Now when we go to re-do the Kitchen that might be a different story. I just think the newer ones are not made to last, like this one has. It's 21 years old. And still does a heck of a job!...

darlyn63 says "Black & Decker DR250B Corded Drill/Driver gets the job done" about Black & Decker Black & Decker DR250B 5.2 AMP VSR Drill/Driver

The Black & Decker 5.2 AMP 3/8 in. (10 mm) VSR Drill/Driver is powerful and compact. We were looking for a drill that was corded. No need for the battery to die on you or wait for one to charge. This drill handles tough tasks in tight spaces. Has variable speed/reversing for controlled drilling and driving.

This model is a keyless chuck for quick and easy bit changes. Mid-handle design offers balance and comfort. Which to me is important when doing a job, and wanting to get it done right. Soft grip handle feels good in your hand (and mine), which is added for comfort. Also has on board bit storage for quick access to screwdriving bits.

Some of the facts of the Black & Decker 5.2 AMP Corded VSR Drill/Driver DR250B

Amps 5.2 A

Volts 120 V AC only

Speed 0-1500 RPM

Capacity 1 in. Wood

             3/8 in. Steel

Cord 6 ft. (1.85m)

This model is strong enough for many jobs, it's a RRRRRR toy for my husband and comfortable enough for me to use. Pretty soon we will be competing on...
...

darlyn63 says "Yummies all year round~Summer taste even in the Winter" about CASAMODA S'MORES MAKER

Every Christmas our next door neighbor always gives us something unique. They out do themselves, this was one of those items the CASAMODA S'MORE MAKER. What a great gift to receive. You can have your S'Mores all year round. In the middle of winter, get all dressed up and feel like it's summertime. Time for a beachball party, or wishing it were summer.

We love S'Mores, this kit comes with S'More Maker Grill, Snuffer, Burner handle, Burner holder, Marshmallow holders, Chocolate Bar holder (me loves chocolate) Graham Cracker holder, Lazy Susan Base (I feel like that at times), and 4 different colored Marshmallow Roasting Forks. The only thing to complete the kit besides the goodies is a 2.6 oz., chafing fuel can, which can be purchased at many different stores.

All the holders are made of ceramic. The grill has the flames that makes it like a campfire, you have to be careful not to burn your marshmallow, personally I like mine almost to that point. Nicely browned. Put this on your patio...
...

darlyn63 says "Gives Great Sound, Clear Conversation with Panasonic Cordless " about Panasonic - Panasonic Cordless Phone KX-TG6433

Well I finally gave up looking for a new battery for our old Panasonic cordless phone. I guess now a days, it's ancient. For how fast things change, what you purchased 6 months ago is old. Our old cordless could probably go into the Smithsonian Institute. I miss using it, the biggest miss is the shoulder rest. We really got our use out of it, and monies worth for how many years we had it, plus the abuse it took. Being dropped over the time.

I am looking forward to our new Panasonic KX-TG6433 Cordless Phone lasting a long time also. We like all the features, a lot that we had with the previous one plus some. Time for me to learn how this one works, a couple of the buttons are in different places, no biggie. And how to program the phone numbers for the phone book. The nice thing about this one coming with added handsets, the phone book gets added in each phone automatically, not individually. Which is cool.

So far I'm liking it, nice great sound and clear conversation. Just slightly smaller...
...

darlyn63 says "The smell is Wonderful. Great idea!" about Glade Sense and Spray (Automatic Spray)

The new Glade Sense & Spray Motion Sensor is a wonderful idea. I really like the fact that it has a sensor. When you walk by, it goes off and will not go off for another 30 minutes unless it is activated. Which means to me no wasted spray, less time to put in a new refill. So this unit is pretty smart only goes off if a shadow passes by. Glade Sense & Spray can be over-ruled by pressing a button for an extra burst of freshness.

To me the automatic freshner, is the smart way to get that burst of OOH that smells good. With the holidays coming up, my next choice for a refill I'd like to try Apple & Cinnamon.

At first I had it set to low and when my two horses, I mean doggies would pass by, the sensor was going off. So it was time to move it to higher ground. So now when my husband goes out to the computer, I always ask him "Did you toot again?" He's like yep....lol... I can smell the freshness in the other room, which I have to say is refreshing, not overpowering. I really like the Clear...
...

darlyn63 says "I was surprised by Secret!" about Secret Clinical Strength Antiperspirant/Deodorant

I was surprised!

Normaly when I find a Antiperspirant/Deodorant I stay loyal, maybe because of the type I use. Which is a roll-on. I've tried other brands of solids, they just felt like a sticky, yucky, goey feeling under my arms. I did not have this feeling, very impressed like a "WOW FACTOR".

Most solid Antiperspirant/Deodorants I've tried it the past always seem to take a long time to dry. Had to wait before putting my shirt on. Pain in the butt when your in a hurry. I did not experience that with Secret Clinical, which was new to me. I was already starting to get sold on this product.

Secret Clinical Strength has a very nice light and fresh scent, not overpowering. I was totally surprised. Felt great going on, that feeling wasn't happening here, the yuckyness. Just smooth.

The person who would benefit most using Secret Clinical Strength advanced solid is anyone who experiences excessive underarm perspiration. The box says it has the benefits of perscription strength wetness protection....
...

darlyn63 says "PureVia sounds great, but the taste just isn't the same" about PureVia All Natural Zero Calorie Sweetener

I was anticipating, and getting excited about receiving my PureVia in the mail. Had heard it's All Natural Zero Calorie Sweetener. I thought this is going to be great, I do not go for the man made stuff, give me the real deal it's been around a long time. Butter, cheese, sugar, eggs all the good stuff.

I was thrilled when it arrived, couldn't wait to try. It was going to have wait until my morning coffee. I poured one whole packet into my coffee, added a little Hazelnut Coffee Creamer like I always do. The taste just wasn't the same, now it's about the same amount of sugar I normally add. I don't go overboard with it, but this just didn't have the same taste. Sweetness to it as regular sugar and it did leave a smidgen of film or taste in your mouth that was different. PureVia All Natural Zero Calorie is to me somewhat of a disappointment.

darlyn63 says "Kilz, one coat, excellent coverage!" about Kilz Primer

We've used Kilz before, for a bathroom issue in our previous home. We were getting ready to re-do our daughter's room, figured we would prime before painting. Seeing how we hadn't painted in a number of years. The salesperson also said it was a good idea for the length of time between painting, that we do so.

We taped, got everything ready to prime with the Kilz Primer. Having had a issue with a water mark before having our roof redone, felt it was even a better choice to do this. The water spot covered very well with one coat. I couldn't be happier. We've always used this brand before with jobs like this whether it was a stain from the kids when they were little that wouldn't come off, to a water mark such as this kind of issue. With the roof having been redone a few years back, we just didn't seem to find the time to paint. With the bedroom Make-Over the time was found, and it really does make you feel good about the choices that were made.

darlyn63 says "Went on smooth, color turned just as it was suppose to look" about Valspar Interior Satin Paint

It's been almost 16 years since we moved into our home, and that was the last time we painted this bedroom. So it was do for a make-over. Looked around at two hardware stores and a superstore for colors and type of paint. Finally came up with color choices in mind, seafoam green like for an accent wall where the head board goes, and silver for the other three. The colors were just like the sample papers I had picked up, so I was plenty pleased with the choices. Of course I had to run them past our daughter as it is her room, her say in the matter.

Taped everything off, she did most of that. And a good job at that. We primed the ceiling and walls, and then got going with the Valspar Interior Satin Paint. Did the the whole room, which everyone kicked in to help to make the job go faster. One we are all happy with the results, and the colors are just what our daughter wanted. Valspar was a very good deal for the price, more so being on sale.

darlyn63 says "Doctor says I need this. Keeps stomach acid down" about Protonix Used for Gerd, and other problems

In 2007, April 1st no less. I had experienced a very serious health problem. Which I was rushed to the hospital for. Here some veins in my stomach had burst, because my liver totally shut down. I have no idea how the bleeding stopped, as there was no surgery. I do know they had given me 7 pints of blood, seemed like as soon as it was going in, it was coming out. I spent the next 6 days in SICU tied to a bed. I guess most people want to try and pull the tube out of their mouths that goes down to your stomach. Not sure, I couldn't talk, my Husband had to do the talking for me. (there was one in my nose also). Anyhow when I was leaving the hospital the doctor ordered a whole bunch of med.'s for me to take, one being Protonix to keep stomach acid down. I had never really experienced Gerd, or Heartburn before. Well when I was pregnant with my son I had Heartburn only a couple of times.

Protonix seems to be doing the job it is intended for. I know the doctor has tried to get me off of it, on...
...

darlyn63 says "I didn't know mixing could be any faster & easier! Love it" about Cooks Stand Mixer, Loving it!!! Makes the job easier!

An advertisement had come in the mail from JC Penney, on the cover was a stand mixer for $149.99. I couldn't believe it, it was even more powerful then a Kitchenaid. I thought WOW! So guess who ordered one for herself for Christmas that year? I did. With my husbands Okie Dokie of course. See it was only earlier in the year, I was cussing him out under my breath. That he better of not got me a kichenaid mixer for how expensive they are. (I got Connie instead, my rescue doggie).

Well, I couldn't wait to start mixing and mixing. And couldn't believe how I had gone so long without one. I do know why, the price. But for the $149.99, I couldn't pass it up. It comes with a pouring shield, nonstick flat beater, dough hook and ballon wisk. This is so fast whipping up dough's, cookies, banana breads. I've even made triple batches and the bowl holds it all. Unbelieveable. COOKIES AND BREAD FOR EVERYONE!!

We have had this Panasonic Cordless Phone KX-TG2356 for many years. Been a very durable phone for how many times it has been dropped. I love all the features it has, it announces who is calling so if you don't want to waste your time getting to the phone, don't. Has a intercom, hold, flash, redial, speed dial, speaker phone and listen to messages button. Caller ID, plus who's calling behind the call. I'm going to miss this phone if I can't find a new battery for it, it appears to becoming ancient for it's time. Makes me sad.

The newer phones pretty much have the same features, plus extra handsets. I really like this model of Panasonic Cordless, it has a piece that slides on so you can rest it on your shoulder if need be. When I started looking recently the newer ones do not come with that feature, plus they feel so light weight, and cheaper in quality than this one. So I'll have to search HIGH and low for a newer battery, as with most after time do not keep the charge as long.

It has been...
...

darlyn63 says "My Mixmaster has really stood the test of time!" about Sunbeam MixMaster Model 2486

So far this Sunbeam Mixmaster Model 2486, has been my longest lasting hand mixer yet. I have burned up so many over the years, with my love of making Banana Breads and Peanut Butter cookies, the dough's are harder to mix than your average cake mix. This one I'm not sure how long I have had, but it has been many years since purchasing a hand mixer. Sure I have other mixers, for different quick mixing. This one has always been the ONE!

I love baking and cooking, more so in the cooler temperatures. Although not too long ago I had a taste for Banana Bread, it was a cool day in the summer....go figure! We never had a true hot summer this year, so this was the perfect time to bake. And my family loves it when I do. Even my father-in-law does, I have to make him mini one's for portion control. So I ship his off to Ohio, he can't wait for the goodies to arrive. He knows they are sent with LOVE!

I hope Sunbeam still makes them as durable as they did when they made this one. I couldn't even tell...
...

darlyn63 says "Gets the job done, I like the fact it's rechargeable" about Remington Trim & Shape WPG-250

I was shopping at a store, and this item caught my eye. One for the fact it was on sale, and two I was getting ready for a trip this past summer. This Remington's Trim & Shape came with it's own travel case, which I felt was perfect, just what I needed. I picked it up, couldn't be happier. Summer time, pool, bathing suit=Trimmer! I have been very pleased with how much I use this. Sometimes you get out of the shower, you look under your arms and there is a couple hairs that suddenly seem to appear. Almost like where did that come from I just shaved, so I break out my little Remington's Trim & Shape, do my touch up and feel better that there isn't that sudden hair there.

It also works very well for the bikini area as us ladies know. You want to look and feel groomed when you are in that bathing suit. Otherwise, well I won't even go there.

I am sure there are plenty of other ways to use this handy dandy Remington Trim & Shape shaver, so far this is all I have used it for. As it does come...
...

darlyn63 says "Smart Stick Hand Blender With Attachments" about Cuisinart Smart Stick Hand Blender w/wisk & chopper attachment

I've always wanted a Hand Blender, actually about 18 years ago I found one at a garage sale for $5.00 what a bargain. At the time our Mother-in-law needed one, to make baby food for her grandson as he was a special needs child. So I gladly gave it to her.

After watching Food-network and Emeril calling it a BOAT-MOTOR now my hubby wanted one, I still did also. I was shopping at Macy's because of there big sale going on, plus having a coupon on hand, this women will travel. The couple ahead of me were there for the same reason. For the Cuisinart Smart Stick Hand Blender model CSB-77, the salesperson was informing us that the price was only good for online only. Well that was not clearly spelled out at all, plus she also informed us that just the week prior to coupons were not good for small appliances. I was like excuse me! That is not stated on here. I bought my Boat-motor anyhow, called Macy's, which they were so kind to give me the sale price, coupon price, plus $10.00 off. I was shocked...
...

darlyn63 says "I use to hate chopping Garlic, onions and such!" about Farberware Commercial Stainless Steel Food Chopper

I went into a store I had never been to. Shame on my neighbor for telling me about Home Goods. Out of curiosity I went in and was looking around actually for anything that would go into our bathroom as our shower had just been redone. Well I didn't find anything for the bathroom, but started my way to the other side of the store. I think some of you women can relate to this you go in looking for one thing, but come out with another item.

That's what happened to me, went for bathroom decor, came out with a Kitchen item. This Farberware Commercial Stainless Steel Food Chopper is the next best thing since sliced bread. I love garlic but dreaded chopping it. This chops vegetables, cheeses, fruits herbs, nuts (great when I make Banana Bread), chocolate, really just about anything.

It includes a covered container for storage for the chopped food, so you can do it ahead of time or if you do not use it all. With the self-contained unit you do all the chopping without a cutting board. And the food chopper...
...

darlyn63 says "My Mom Loves this stuff-Shaklee Anti-aging products" about Shaklee Enfuselle eye treatment

For Christmas I plan on making up a basket filled with different facial products that my Mom loves. You should see her when I send her Anti-aging products such as this. You would think she is a BIG KID!!! Well actually she is. And this year is her, now shhhh her "BIG 70"But don't tell her I told you. The only thing is she had some dental work done, so her mouth is a little swollen. With all the cut-backs, she had to hurry and use up her Dental Insurance before it was gone from one of the BIG 3's. Boy she would yell at me if she knew I was writing about this.

Good thing she doesn't have a computer, otherwise she would know what she is getting for Christmas, and spilled her age. You would think she's never seen the products before. She still gets excited. And thanks me, she always asks if I have anymore. Well for all that she did for us kids growing up, both her and my father raising 5 kids, and my dad always being laid off from one of the "BIG 3's" they sure did give up plenty and...
...
