craigmc says "Great for home networks" about Linksys WRT54G

This is an excellent unit for anyone considering a wireless home network. Very easy to setup and interfaces well with the cable modem from your cable company. Just think about it. No more fighting over who's turn it is to get on the internet. At my home, I can be on the computer in the back, while the wife or kid surfs from the living room. I haven't noticed any real slow down in bandwidth with the two of us on at the same time. Intergartion of the laptop was pretty straight forward and seemless. I truly think this was one of our best computer hardware buys yet. The price is very resonable. There is one draw back that they don't tell you about in the literature. Because these type of routers broadcast a signal, they can be intercepted by others. Our next door neighbors have a wireless router as well. When one of us logs on with the laptop we have to choose between our router or theres. So in essence anyone could park near us and use our internet connection.
...

craigmc says "Too expensive" about Kirby Vacuum Upright vacuum Vacuum

Unfortunately I let my wife talk me into getting this thing. My mother had one back in the sixties. It came with a carboard closet case with about a million attachements. Like a hair vacuum ( go figure ). Also had a paint sprayer, grinder, and Lord knows what else. Anyway, the one we bought had just a few of the most popular attachments. I do however like the ability to change from a floor/carpet machine to a hose type. This makes it great for using in the car. It even has an attachement to turn it into a hand held. A heavy handheld though. It does a pretty decent jod of cleaning but not a whole lot better than more resonably priced machines. I kinda dislike the way it is marketed. They are sold by the old fashioned meathod of door to door. Granted, they have developed a very unique and successfull pitch to get these things sold. They do last for ever. I really mean that. My Dad still has the one our family bought back in the early sixties.
...

craigmc says "Great for working stiffs" about Rival 6 quart slow cooker

I really love this appliance. It has saved our family alot of hassles and headaches over the years. The wife and I doth work. We have a nine year old brat as well. I have cooked everything imaginable in this thing. Chili is a snap to prepare and is always ready by the time the game or race comes on. For a great slow cooker meal I would suggest pot roast. Simply place the roast, potatoes, and carrots in the pot. Cover with a can of cream of mushroom soup ( not thinned down) and cover. Start it on the low setting before heading out for work. When the work day is over and you get home it's done ! Clean up is really easy as well. The beutifull thing is the removable crock. This makes cleaning so much easier than the old style slow cookers. It comes in a few different colors so you can match it to your kitchen decor. Another plus about it is that I have seen replacement lids and crocks at Walmart.
...

craigmc says "Long Lasting Frig !" about Norge Refrigerator-Freezer

I bought this Norge frig new at Circuit City twenty two years ago. I'm not sure how long a major appliance is supposed to last, but twenty two years seems like alot to me. I did have a bit of problem getting it into the house. It would not go throught the kitchen or laundry room doors. However it did fit through the living room hall door. That was alot of fun moving this heavy refrigerator all by myself ! Once i finally got it in place and the water line hooked up all was well. I have had it worked on once since purchasing it. The automatic ice maker went south on me. Sears appliance service had it back up and running in less than a hour. The only other problem I had was the plastic water line started to leak about two years ago. A quick trip to Lowes found a replacement hose for it. The family really likes the fact that there is chilled water at the door. We all drink more water than any other beverage. I only wish that when the time comes I can find another that will be just as dependable....
...

craigmc says "Mr. Coffee is good value." about Mr. Coffee CG-12

The cheap low end Mr. Coffee model CG-12 is a great value for the money. I can't see waisting money on a coffee maker that has a lot of bells and whistles. This coffee maker does what it was intended to do ( make coffee ) period. It doesn't tell you the time, nor does it have a timer to set brewing at a specif time. The machine is quick enough making coffee. It takes a very few minutes to brew a pot. It is consistant in the quality of the brew. About once a month I run some vinegar water through it because we have a wee bit of hard water here. Clean up is quick and easy as well. The lid is detachable from the carafe making clean up of it a breeze. he filter basket is removable for cleaning as well. The water sump is wide enough to make cleaning that part easy as well. I think I paid less than thirty dollars for this one several years ago. In fact I have only had to purchase two Mr. Coffee machines in the past thirty years. Can't beat that for quality and service.
...
