coffeykup says "Grabs you in the first sentence " about The Devil in the White City

Wow — This is such a great book. It catches you and holds you from the first page. Although it is a historical novel it reads as if you were reading fiction. I admit to being more interested in H.H. Holmes I did find all the history about the Worlds Fair, which serves as a backdrop to this serial killers hunting ground, to be fascinating as well. It was a very quick read for me because it was so interesting I couldn't put it down. This would be a great read for the beach this summer now that it is finally out in paperback. I saw give it a whirl you won't be disappointed. —...

coffeykup says "Not Enough HD" about Brighthouse networks Palm Coast Florida

We have bright house cable but I can't say I am crazy about it , nor do I hate it. We have it because it's a monopoly, there is no other choice for us, so whether you like it or hate it you have no choice to use it. Also Bright House does not have enough HD channels either, we have 2 of each channel in HD and then again in 'regular' signal. So sure it looks like you have a huge choice when really it's just a lot of the same...

I love this product simply because it really works. As a dog groomer my hands are constantly in water and it takes a toll on my cuticles. I use this each day after I finish work and each night before bed and it improved my cuticles 200%!! I went from having dry brittle cuticles and horrible hang nails to very attractive looking finger nails :) On top of the fact it smell wonderful and is natural I love the fact it is a cruelty free product....

coffeykup says "Tests on Animals" about IAMS Dog Food

Iams conducts VIVISECTION. Buying this inferior dog food supports this practice. There are so many better things out there to feed you dog Please stop buying this crap. Most owners dont' realize all the dog foods they buy at the supermarket or pet supply are nothing but fillers and by products which give your dogs next to 0 nutrients. Try something better there are tons of holistic foods or even a raw diet. If you love your dog you won't feed them...

I love Bare Essentuals!!! I started using it ages ago, I hated to tell people I bought it off of TV but I am so glad I got sucked into that infomercial. I am 36 and have been using it since I was 30. I Love how this makeup makes my skin look and feeel. It is so light just the thought of ever using 'liquid' makeup again grosses me out. My skin/complection actually improved after I started using it. My skin looks healthier now then I did in my teens and twenties. I have no breakouts, it lasts me all day and I get comments on how nice my face looks all the time. I am telling you ladies this is Gods gift to us :) I honestly can't think of anything from this product line that I have tried I haven't liked. I was lucky enough to try the new acne treatement for the occasional breakouts I get, even that is amazing. I dab/brush the minerals where I feel a pimple coming up and with in a day it's gone....

Is there such a thing as a bad pint of Guinness? I am a beer snob I suppose, but to call Guinness just a beer is such a put down. I am such a geek I am one of the first members of the 1759 Society and have my certificate hanging on my wall as if it was a diploma. I loves me some Guinness. Not only is it great to drink its amazing to cook with, especially when making stew! Don't let the fact it is a stout scare you away it not bitter only smooth and yummy. OK now I want one, anyone up to joining me at the...

I can't believe how yummy these bars are. I have been trying to eat better and watch my weight and Fiber One Bars do the trick for me. I usually have one every day about 10 am to hold me over until lunch and keep me from snacking on junk food. I also find that if I wake up late one of these bars with a piece of fruit makes a great on the go breakfast. With the help of Fiber One Bars I am able to go with out snacking because they keep me full and satisfy my sweet tooth....

I have never had some much fun getting smarter. Mental Floss that can take topics that wold have put you to sleep in school and make you want to read them. It is one of the very few magazines if not the only one I read from cover to cover in one sitting! I love the interviews with dead people, very clever idea!
coffeykup says "I love this tool!" about FURminator Grooming Tool - Large

The Furminator is worth every penny. I have a Labrador Retriever I use it on every 10 weeks and it works wonders. Not just that I am a professional dog groomer and I love this tool. I can't recommend the treatment enough to clients. Used in conjunction with Furminator Shampoo and Conditioner it is amazing. I have filled tall kitchen garbage bags full of fur off of a single dog. This is a must if you have a dog with an undercoat. I know many of my clients who have German Shepherd Dogs and Chow Chows swear by this as well. You have to use it more frequently at first but as time goes by you need it less and less. A word of caution though I wouldn't use it on a show dog because it might 'damage' the coat so it is not 'show' quality. But as far as a companion pet up keep its...

This is the best product you can buy from cuts, scrapes, bumps, bruises, bee stings, splinters, rashes, owies and ouchies. You only need a little of the ointment, just rub it on and with in a day or so it's as if nothing ever happened. Aside from this being a miracle in a tin it is not tested on animals at all. Burt's Bee's is a cruelty free product line and that is a major selling point for me. — ...

Although this food is a bit pricier then others it is the only thing I will feed my Boxer mix Seamus. It is free of by products and all the other garbage and fillers that you find in most commercial foods you buy at the supermarket. Less fillers means better diet and they get more from their food. Also it means less mess, and I don't knwo a single person who likes cleaning up after large dogs. Another bonus is that while all this dog food scare was going on last spring and summer I had zero worries with feeding my dog Natures Variety. — — I tend to go the Holistic route with feeding and caring for all my dogs and I don't think you can find a better product then Natrual Instinct. I also incorportate raw food and bones into all my dogs diest and my dogs love Natures Variety frozen Venison and...

coffeykup says "The end of the world was never so much fun" about Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett - Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch

Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch has a very cynical sense of humor to it in which I found to my liking. It is a fun read about a mix up at the hospital when the Antichrist is born and given to the wrong couple. It is now up to Crowley an agent of Satan, and Aziraphale an angel to set things right. Although it doesn't sound like this is one laugh out loud book about the end of the world. ...

coffeykup says "Best Book I have ever read" about John Toole Kennedy - A Confederacy of Dunces Books

Of all the books I have read in my life this is by far my favorite. A Confederacy of Dunces was published 11 years after John Kennedy Toole's death in 1980 and won Pulitzer Prize the following year. The story stars Ignatius J. Reilly who is delusional eccentric and despises just about everything in life. He is a medevalist living in 1960's New Orleans with demented ideas of how life should be lived and has no problem enforcing those ideas on other. He is forced by his equally colorful mother to get a job but this does not stop him from inciting riots at a pants to plotting revolutions on the streets of New Orleans. — — This book was giving to me about 13 years ago and is one of my most cherished possessions. It is an adventure from beginning to end and I was unable to put it down. I find my self buying multiple copies of it when I see it on bargain tables so I can give it to people who tell me they have never read it. This book might have never...

We have had Kongs for several of our dogs over the years. My 100lb Labrador retriever might even love it more then me! I have a Labrador and a Boxer mix who can't destroy a Kong no matter how hard they try, which is very important to me. There isn't a toy brought into this house that hasn't been destroyed within minutes, except for the Kong. Just stuff it full of peanut-butter and freeze it, you dogs will go wild for it. Seamus my Boxer will chew on it for hours and it shows no sign of wear or tear. I can't say enough great stuff about this...

coffeykup says "The Greatest Store On Earth" about Target Stores

HI! — — Target is the greatest store on earth! Why you might ask? Because it has everything you could need and it's cool. It's not discount store crappy it's trendy and fun. It is for the budget conscious person who isn't part of the Walmart crowd. I used to have a high paying job in the IT industry and would go to Target every Sunday afternoon shopping and always leave with so many fun things. After losing my job to outsourcing and having to move south I still go to Target every Sunday on a very different budget and still leave with fun things but also food, clothes and other things I need on a daily basis and with in a decent budget. Thanks to Target I was able to buy great baby shower gifts, wedding gifts, birthday gifts and Christmas gifts on my smaller budget but still feel like I am giving something that doesn't feel like it was bought on a tight budget. Oh Target I don't know where I would be with out you. I like to think of my self and hip and fun and you...
