cmohr80 says "AH HA HA HA HA HA! I can't stop laughing when watching!" about Modern Family

I love sarcasm and satire. The new ABC sitcom Modern Family delivers! Wednesday night is mine and my hubby's new night of comedy. It is such a funny and realistic portrayal of normal living of, well, modern families.

The new ABC comedy Modern Family is a raw and funny look at challenges of every day life of three modern families whose lives intertwine as relatives. This comedic satire is created by Steven Levitan (brilliant Writer/Director of "Just Shoot Me" and "Wings") and Christopher Lloyd (talented Writer/Director of "Frasier" and "Wings"). Starring Ed O'Neill ("Married With Children"), Sofia Vergara, Julie Bowen ("Boston Legal" and "Ed"), Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet.

Ed O'Neill plays the patriarch, Jay Pritchett, who, together with his sexy latina trophy bride, Gloria (Sofia Vergara), deal with challenges of their own while raising a pre-teen stepson who is discovering himself, his ethnicity and dealing with a dad that is rarely around....
...

cmohr80 says "My disposal smells citrus-y fresh! Ahhh!" about Plink Garbage Disposal Cleaner and Deodorizer

As someone who is a bit over obsessive about cleaning and odors, I was elated when I found Plink on a clip strip in the cleaning aisle.

Plink Garbage Disposal Cleaner and Deodorizerby Phelps Industries "contains citrus scented liquid safely encased by a patented hardening process. Plinks break open to deodorize the disposal and dissolve fatty deposits which cultivate unpleasant odors. It freshens your whole kitchen." It's biodegradable and does not harm your pipes. 10 treatments. Comes in Citrus Orange and Citrus Lemon Scents.

After running the disposal to get rid of scraps, run the warm water on a trickle. Drop a Plink in the disposal and let it run for 15 seconds. To revive the scent, run the warm water on low for 15 seconds. Using Plink twice a week, it's about 5 weeks of uses for roughly $3.99.

"Plinks break up food particles, helps prevent disposal clogging and eliminates odors in the disposal, leaving a fresh smelling sink." I feel like the kitchen isn't really clean without...
...

Reading the picture book Where the Wild Things Areis a fond childhood memory. When I heard they were making a movie based on this children's classic, I was anxious with anticipation for it's creation. When I heard that Spike Jonze (director of Being John Malkovich) would be the director, I was even more excited. The commercials made it look excellent. Before the opening day, I was already hearing great things about it. Some friends who had seen it opening weekend used the words "moving," "heart-warming," "emotional," and "meaningful" to describe the family film. So, I must say, that I had great expectations for this movie.

Where the Wild Things Are, a film based on the classic children's picture book by Maurice Sendak and directed by Spike Jonze, stars a character named Max, played by Max Records, who is over active and has a wild imagination, but lacks in courage and angers easily. After acting out and lashing out at his mother, played by Catherine Keener, Max runs off and...
...

An addition to my bathroom cleaning supplies is an item I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!

Courtesy Flush by Scentco (the makers of the Plink disposal odor eliminators) has "active enzymes, including tea and bamboo leaf extracts, that neutralize odor-causing bacteria" and "can even help to eliminate pre-existing odors." It "prevents odors from becoming airborne and offensive by forming a natural barrier on the water's surface." This product is "made from plant extract" and thus is "biodegradable." Comes in a .5 oz. bottle.

Just 3 to 4 drops in the toilet lasts "up to 100 flushes." I've found the freshening lasts about 5 days in my home. Courtesy Flush absolutely works at eliminating toilet odors and keeps them away. I mean those smells that sometimes creep up out of your toilet are GONE! I just don't feel the bathroom cleaning if finished without it. Courtesy Flush a must for all bathrooms.

cmohr80 says "A great, adventurous story climax, non-stop thrill!" about Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

The Harry Potter craze has been such an uproar, that I finally made the decision to find out what the craze is all about. Being that I had never sat through an entire Harry Potter movie, nor had I read the books, I sat through ABC Family's Harry Potter weekend and watched The Order of the Pheonix from HBO on Demand to catch up with the rest of the fans. Well, you might have already guessed it; I'm hooked! What an adventurous, action packed, well told story! Naturally, the next step was to see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.

Starring Daniel Radcliff as Harry Potter, The Half Blood Prince is the sixth installment in the movie franchise, based on the famous pre-teen/teen book series by J. K. Rowlings that follows the tales of a "chosen one's" adventurers as a sorcerer in training,

Now, I'm not going to spoil the storyline, though the book followers already knows the plot, but the sixth movie, The Half Blood Prince is SOOO GOOD!!! If you're not the book reader, you're...
...

So, I recently found out that I'm gluten intolerant, It's been a humbling struggle having to adjust my eating habits and find certain substitutes. We made a special trip to my favorite health food store, Clark's Nutrition (see my review on Clark's). It was an exhausting grocery trip, but yielded some promising alternatives for snacks, like brownies, and pastas (thank goodness).

I happened across Road's End Organic Penne & Chreese Cheddar Style macaroni to replace the occasional traditional mac'n'cheese. The picture on the front appealed to me in the gourmet liking.

Starring Chris Pine (Just My Luck, Princess Diaries 2) as Captain Kirk, Zachary Quinto as young Spock who plays the role, made famous by Leonard Nimoy, well. Karl Urban and Simon Pegg do pretty right on impressions of McCoy and Scotty, made famous by DeForest Kelley and James Doohan. John Cho (Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle) plays hand combatting, handsome Sulu. Anton Yelchin does an incredibly uncanny rendition of Pelvil Chekov and Zoe Saldana plays the young, intelligent and sexy Uhura.

For long storage of items and freezer goods, I trust my Food Saver System; but for those items I regularly get in and out of, like deli goods, I don't like having to create a whole new Food Saver Bag when they cost as much as they do. Well, Reynold's resolved this issue with the Reynold's Handy Vac System!

The Reynold's Handy Vac System is a lightweight, hand-held device that sucks the air out of their specially designed RESEALABLE, sacks. The outer clear plastic nosil is removable for cleaning purposes and battery operated (6-AAs). The bags come in sandwich and quart sack and can be used in the refrigerator and freezer. The bags can be hand-washed and reused (about 2-3 times at most, then replace them). It comes with 3 bags, then replacement bags can be purchased separately.

You have to get use to the toe separations, but they are warm and real cute! It's a fun, cute item for cold winter nights. Gold Medal International Toe Socks are a great gift for your best girlfriend or your daughters. I love mine! . . . Did I mention they're cute!?! ;oP

Keep your toes toasty warm in a fun way!
...

cmohr80 says "As cheap as its price; learned my lesson!" about Mainstays Tissue Holder

We have a decorative shelf in the main bathroom, but not an actual toilet paper holder. I like organization, so when things get out of place, like the toilet paper, when I need it, I get annoyed.

I finally decided to get an official toilet paper holder instead of just sitting the toilet tissue on the shelf, because it magically manages to come up missing at convenient moments. I only wanted the holder for the function, so I wasn't particular about how it looked, which is why I bought the cheapest one on the Walmart shelf; their name "home decor" brand, Mainstays.

A white, plain, plastic one, the Walmart Mainstays Tissue Holder, in a blue package with white font. On the back, there's directions to adhere it to the wall from the glue plates on the back.

 1. Wet the glue plate thoroughly and rub with a circular motion until it turns into thick, white glue.

 2. Press glue plate to wall, using a slight rotating motion at start to spread adhesive evenlt. Then press firmly...

...

From a very young age, I've had a sensitive throat. The moment there's too much smog and I've not taken my allergy medicine, you can be sure a sore throat is not too far behind!
cmohr80 says "Well suited reading for fathers-to-be!" about Dad's Pregnant Too!

Dad's Pregnant Too! is th first edition of a pregnancy book from a guy's perspective geared towards fathers-to-be written by Harlem Cohen.

The information is well researched set with some humorous tones. I can see how this book would keep a guy's attention. Much of Mr. Cohen's book covers quite a variety of different scenarios. I was surprised at how much this book covers; not just informationally, but the emotional needs and supportiveness suggestions given.

I like that Mr. Cohen not only collected doctoral interviews, but also information given by dads, moms and parents-to-be. That was probably what gave this book edge it needed, with respect to sharing personal stories of emotional, hormonal and support experiences, that many pregnancy books don't tell you about.

The author discusses the various delivery options, including birthing centers, home birthes, midwives and doulas. He even goes so far as to discuss the necessary health insurance coverage options, another...
...

cmohr80 says "Tastes so close to the original that you'll be satisfied!" about Coke - Coca-Cola Cherry Zero

I'm still trying to be calorie conscience, but I still love my occasional cherry soda. A regular endulgence, I needed to find a substitute while I'm losing weight. I tried Hansen's Diet Black Cherry Soda and it was a good resolution, until I found out that they were discontinuing the flavor. So when I happened down the beverage aisle of my local Albertsons when I noticed a zero calorie cherry soda, and not just any brand! My favorite brand, Coca-Cola! YAY!!!

Coca-Cola Cherry Zero, in the black label with the red cherries on it, has the following per a single 12 oz. calorie free cherry flavored beverage: 0 grams of fat, 0 carbs, 0 protein, and just 40 mg of sodium. Natural Flavors. Warning: product does contain aspartame.

To my surprise, their is no bitter, no "you can tell it's diet" taste. Cherry Zero tastes very much like the regular cola; sweet tasting! The cherry flavor is less noticeable than compared to original Cherry Coke, but there's enough for it to satisfy...
...
