cinnamon13 says "Looks nice, but too much work to keep clean" about Stainless Steel Kitchen Appliances

We just purchased a newly built house and had our choice of appliance colors.....white, black or stainless. I really wanted almond, but guess that's not "in" anymore. Anyway, we chose stainless and so far I am NOT impressed.

Yes, they look nice in our cherry cabinet/granite countertop kitchen, but they are a bear to keep clean! We stayed at our new house a week last month to do some finish work and I couldn't believe how bad they looked at the end of the week. And we have no little kids to leave fingerprints everywhere! I can't imagine anyone with children having these as they would spend all their time cleaning them.

I have read that the key is to NOT use stainless steel cleaner, but haven't found the proper formula yet. I should have gotten the black ones...........
...

cinnamon13 says "Fantastic!" about LG Dryer - Tromm Dryer - DLE7177WM

I purchased this item to go with the matching washer and it is great. I love all the different features and cycles to allow me to do exactly what I want to do by either using one of the preprogrammed cycles, or modifying them to my needs. It's quiet and along with the high spin of the washer, it dries very quickly. Controls are easy to understand and the manual is outstanding. I can't find any faults at all so far.

I'm looking forward to doing many loads of laundry in this pair!
...

cinnamon13 says "Love It, Love It, Love It!" about Dyson Vacuum - Dyson Animal - DC14

When I purchased this vacuum we had a long haired black dog that shed everywhere. My Hoover just wasn't cutting it, so the woman at the Sears store suggested the Dyson. After doing some research, I decided to purchase the animal one (purple). I was totally amazed at how much it picked up, even on areas that I had just swept with my Hoover. It really gets down into the carpets and gets out the hidden dirt.

Our dog is no longer with us, but my Dyson is still working great. We have been doing a lot of remodeling in our old house and some work in our new one and we use it everywhere for everything. It was amazing how much fuzz it picked up from our new rugs in the new house. Plus cleaning up tons of drywall dust and all the shavings from my husband drilling holes to install things in the cabinets. I love the long hose as well as the long power cord. In my new one level house I can vacuum 90% of the house from just one outlet!

The one thing that I would like to see is an extra...
...

cinnamon13 says "Started out great, but not so great anymore" about Simmons BeautyRest Pillowtop Mattress

I have arthritis in my back and hips and was looking to replace our old matress for something more comfortable. We looked at regular beds, but I discovered that a firm pillowtop was more supportive. We tried out a LOT and decided on this one, even though it was a bit pricier than we wanted to spend.

It started out just great, but now after about 6 months I have found that the pillowtop has seemed to crush down forming a depression that I keep rolling into during the night. I wake up anywhere from 4-5am with my back hurting because of this. I don't find that it supports me as well as when it was brand new, although at 6 months, I don't feel it should have gotten this bad. My husband's side is the same way.

I'm also disappointed that in order for the company to stand behind their product, you had to purchase a very expensive mattress cover (10 year warranty).
...

cinnamon13 says "It's Fantastic!" about LG Washer - Front Load WM2487H

It took a while for me to be convinced that you could use LESS water to get clothes clean. Finally after talking to several people who have this machine, I decided to go for it. WOW! It is fantastic! The first load was towels and they got cleaner that I had seen them in a long time. Everything else was the same thing......looked better than ever. And my drying time was cut in 1/2 because of how well the spin cycle works. And that was on the next to highest speed.

Definately go for it. Just make sure that you have a solid surface to put it on. We have ceramic tile on a cement slab and there is no vibration at all. I have it stacked with my matching LG dryer and they are extremely stable.
...

cinnamon13 says "Don't even consider it!" about GE Profile Built-in Dishwasher

This is the absolute worst appliance that I have ever used. Doesn't clean unless you wash everything on the pots & pans cycle with extra heat. Doesn't dry well even when you use heat dry. if you use both, the cycle is OVER 2 hours long!

Any Energy Star savings you might have gotten is negated by having to use the longest cycle.

Basket for silverware has openings that are too large, so smaller things fall flat in it. Prongs on the top rack are too short to support bowls right. Cross pieces of top rack don't allow glasses to sit securely and can fall to the side hitting against one another.

As I said.......don't even give this product any consideration at all. I wasted a ton of money on it. The only good thing is that we are moving soon and it's staying with the house. Unfortunately, our builder put another GE dishwasher in our new house, so I'm stuck for awhile.
...
