It works great on every kind of carpet. It works great on cleaning every pet hair & visible fiber. However, it does soak up the chemicals & water very rapidly, and it requires lots of work to reload & refill during usage, of maybe 7 times at once during an entire house cleaning, which slows a person down of getting the job done. An entire home can be done in 1-2 hours. The cleaning up for storage of the unit is very messy & little bit time consuming. However, it's an overall nice machine to have since it saves literally hundreds of dollars in steam cleaning bills alone. It will pay for itself in just a few times usage. It's great for high traffic carpet usage. Hope you enjoy it as much as we have, but be prepared to WORK for what you pay for....
