china-cat84 says "Not worth it for the price!" about Mark. Kiss Dry Goodbye Lip Smoother

Mark. is one of my favorite cosmetic lines. It's a brand owned by the popular and long time running Avon brand but it's geared towards teens and young women. I love many things about the line - they're always coming out with new and different things. For example, they came out with these products that are called "hook-ups". Basically, they're mini mascaras, eye pencils, eye shadows, lip gloss, and lip pencils that are able to connect, or "hook-up" if you will, to each other via a little round tube that you receive free if you buy 2 of the hookup products. Very portable and very inovative. The lip smoother I am reviewing today is part of the Hook-up line along with 3 other different facial treatments.

As an idea, this is a winner. Having portable-sized treatments that can connect to each other that you can just toss in your bag! Genius! However, the product in itself is NOT the greatest - at least for the price you are paying!

Each of the treatment hook-ups run at $8 a piece. And each tube......

china-cat84 says "Great Diet Aid - Ephedra in this isn't "active"" about Nicwl Hydroxyslim (With Ephedra) 120caplets

Ok, well, I'm guessing the first thing crossing your mind is, "It has EPHEDRA in it!" or something similar.

For one thing, ephedra has to be treated like any other drug on the market. If you take too much it can make you sick or even kill you. If you don't take enough then it won't have an effect. The best advice is to follow the directions on the packaging and to discontinue use if you have any weird side effects.

I, for one, am very sensitive to most things. If I have too much caffeine I break out in hives. I have to be extremely careful about what I put on my face or I will have acne everywhere. But this product had no negative side effects on me whatsoever.

I did only take one dose however. The Hydroxyslim bottle suggests taking 2 caplets twice a day with meals. I only took 2 caplets at breakfast time and the energy boost lasted ALL day. I sometimes have difficulty sleeping so I didn't take anymore which is a good thing because I probably wouldn't have been able to sleep.

The energy......

china-cat84 says "You have to do your part!" about All brands - Diet Pills Opinion

I think the biggest problem with diet pills is that people seem to think that they can just take a pill for awhile and magically they will lose weight and look perfect. This is not the case people! You can't just sit on your butt, pig out, and think that the pill will still help you!

Another problem is that diet pill companies capitalize on the fact that people are desperate to lose weight - and the fact that many of us focus on a certain area of the body such as the stomach, hips, or thighs. Anyone will tell you that even with exercise you can't just target one specific area to lose fat. You can target an area to tone muscles but not for fat loss. And if you can't do that with exercise, what makes you think a diet pill can change things?

Also, the FDA doesn't regulate "supplements" which is what many of these diet pills fall under - nonprescription ones, anyway. What does this mean? Well, look at the big ephedra scare back a few years ago. Since the FDA doesn't regulate these substances,......

china-cat84 says "The best primer I have ever used!" about L'Oreal De-Crease Eye Shadow Base (primer)

I bought this product basically because I was desperate. I've tried many different eye primers/bases and the only one that actually worked was over priced. I saw this at the local walmart one day and decided that I might as well give it a try. It was only $7.49 so I wasn't missing out on much if it didn't work out. And if it did work out I'd have something inexpensive that actually worked!

This product is of a slightly different texture than most primers and bases. It looks like concealer and has the same basic consistency. The tube it comes in has a sponge tip applicator that you can use to apply it - however, I suggest using your finger. Just smear a little on your finger and apply to the eyelid. It's easier and this way you ensure that it's spread on evenly in a very thin layer. I learned the hard way that if it's not spread evenly the shadow will stick more to the areas that have more base! Not a good look.

Anyway, after you apply it (as thinly and evenly as possible! A little goes a......

china-cat84 says "Ok...but not the best for the price!" about Mary Kay Eye Primer

I bought this product because I was hoping it would help my eyeshadow and liner last a little longer. I have very, very oily lids and nothing seems to stay on them. My eyeshadow creases badly (and I use an eyeshadow that's higher end and isn't supposed to crease!) and my eyeliner - even pencil eyeliner - runs and smudges but not in a good way! I don't know about you, but the whole Alice Cooper look isn't for me! lol.

Anyway, this product just didn't do it for me. It helped make my shadows and liner last a teensy bit longer but not by much. It's basically the same as smeering some foundation or concealer on your lids without powder and then applying your shadow and liner - ie, it doesn't last well.

If you have very oily lids I advise you not to waste your money. There are products out there that are at a better price that actually work. I'm actually about to write a review on one that I found - check out my page if you're interested.

The best thing is that if you have a nice Mary Kay lady,......

china-cat84 says "The worst service I have ever had!" about MediaCom - Cable TV

I have used several different cable companies in the past - and I have never really had any problems with service like I have had at Mediacom.

When I first signed on with Mediacom, I thought it was going to be better than the cable company I was with at the moment. We were moving and wanted to try something new and less expensive. Mediacom was cheaper - even AFTER their price goes up on 1 year. In this case the old cliche is true - you get what you pay for!

For the first month or so, everything worked fine. We had the high speed cable internet service and the digital cable with th showtime add-on package. I had the internet connection hooked up to my desktop compaq PC at the time.

Then, one day, the internet stopped working. My computer showed that there was a cable unhooked somewhere - but there wasn't. I ran several diagnostic tests on my PC but there was nothing wrong. My ethernet card and cable was working perfectly. So I gave up and called Mediacom's Customer Service Center. The first......

china-cat84 says "Be Careful! This stuff isn't for most people!" about Klein Becker Zantrex - 3 Weight Loss Program 84 Capsules Klein-Becker

Who makes Zantrex-3?

Zantrex-3 is marketed by Zoller Laboratories, LLC. They also distribute Leptoprin and Leptopril. According to http://www.critcalorie.com/ (the owner of said website is named Cal and they publish several reviews of diet pills on the website), the owner of Zoller is Basic Research - who is NOT a friend of the FTC because of slimy marketing and lying to consumers. If you do some research into the several brands that Zoller distributes, the research they publish is pretty much word-for-word for every single brand. What does this mean? It means that they don't really research every product the distribute. It means that they just use the same "research study" on every product and that they don't really do the research at all!

How much does Zantrex-3 cost?

Usually, anywhere from $22 to $50. It's cheaper if you get it at your local grocery or nutrition store, though I don't recommend you buy it!

What's in Zantrex-3?

Not much of anything actually.
china-cat84 says "It's an ok product, but not as great as they promise!" about California Beauty Slim N Lift Supreme

Yes, this is the slimming underwear you have seen on TV! If you haven't seen the infomercial, you can watch it at this website: http://thane.com/products/health-beauty/slimlift_supreme/slimliftsupreme.php
Just so you know - this product does work, but not like they promise. I bought this because I have a wedding to attend and I still look 5 mos pregnant even though I gave birth nearly a year ago. I've never had problems losing weight until now. I'm dieting and exercising and the baby bulge won't go away. So, I desperately turned to this product hoping that it really would make me look smaller and smooth out my tummy.
The website promises that you can look 1, 2, or even 3 sizes smaller. That's not true. It does smooth things out a bit and makes my clothing feel loose. I might have been able to fit into 1 size smaller but deffinitely not 3. And if you have a larger tummy or larger bulges it won't completely flatten them out. However, it does shape from the bust line to......

china-cat84 says "The worst gradual self tanner out there!" about Jergens Natural Glow Self Tanning Daily Moisturizer

I am very fair skinned. I NEVER tan. I burn very easily and after the burn fades, I have a very subtle darkening in skin color and that's it. If I go out in the sun again, I burn even worse and there is NO change in skin color afterwards.
I have also had some bad experiences with self tanners - as have we all! So I was ecstatic to see this advertised on TV. I went out to purchase the product as soon as possible and I was even happier to find they had a gradual tanner for the face as well!
Unlike a previous reviewer, I did have a change in color. It is very gradual and if you want noticable color you have to apply it religiously. I applied twice a day when I could - once in the morning and once at night. However, despite my exfoliation efforts, the faux tan looked "cracked" - like my skin looked like it had cracks in it! And the face lotion have me lots of pimples all over my face and neck that took forever to get rid of. This is by far the worst self tanning experience......

china-cat84 says "This is the best website to shop if you are a size 10 and up!" about Redcats USA

Okay, you're probably thinking, "What the heck is Redcats USA? I've never heard of it!" or "This doesn't look like a shopping website to me..." Well, Redcats USA is the company that owns many well respected online and catalog shopping companies. Most of them are geared towards "plus sized people". There are also places to buy misses clothing and things for the home. The best part though, is if you sign up at ONE of their sites you will be tuned in to their entire network. Meaning, your email and password will work at every Redcats USA owned site. Also, they are constantly offering coupons and special sales to their customers.
If you're a plus sized person, especially a female, you know that it's difficult to find clothing that not only fits your curves properly but is comfortable and looks stylish too! All too often women and girls who are considered "plus sized" (which, generally speaking, can be anyone bigger than a size 10 nowadays) end up looking like either a sausage (stuffed......

china-cat84 says "A round brush, blow dryer, and straightener in one!" about Conair Conair Infinit Hair Designer Stick

My hair is extremely thick and heavy. It also has a slight wave to it. If I don't blow dry my hair with a round brush, I end up with lifeless, limp hair - especially if it's hot outside or if there's any hint of humidity in the air. My hair is also about chin-length, so it's not like I can just pull my hair up in a pony tail. If my hair goes limp, there's nothing I can really do about it.
My hair routine used to take about 30 mins because I had to use both the dryer and the round brush. It took so long! This little gadget cuts my time in half. And if I bundle my hair up in a towel and let it sit that way for about 10 mins, it's even faster. It also gives my hair INCREDIBLE body and volume. It's SO easy to use too. Kind of like a comb or a brush...or even a flat iron. You just section out a section of hair and slowly "brush" (underneath the section to slightly curl it under or over top of the section to flip it up) the hair. You only have to go over the section a few times before......

china-cat84 says "The LG enV cell phone is the best cell phone I've ever had!" about LG - enV VX9900 Cell Phone

I've used several different cell phones by several different manufacturers including the Samsung Alias. The enV is by far my favorite. Why? There are several reasons. The enV has a better camera than most cell phones; clocking in at an amazing 2.0 mega-pixels. You can take photos without even opening the phone with the touch of a button. It's extremely easy to use...so easy that my 1 year old daughter has managed to take photos before without my knowing! The pictures are of decent enough quality that when I print 4x6 pictures, there isn't any pixelization. The camera also features a lens cover so that you don't get scratches or dust on the lens. You can also flip the camera all the way open, so if you're trying to take a pic of yourself you can see how the picture will look before you take it.
Also, the phone comes in a wide array of colors which is much enhanced by the new variety of enV2 colors. My only problem is that the enV (not the enV2) only has unisex colors. Black,......
