      <description>If you can not easily walk up or down the stairs then a stair lift, then you might greatly benefit from a stair lift. A stair lift is a device that is used to carry someone up and down the stairs. A chair is sent up or down the stairs on a track system that is attached directly to the stairs.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;AmeriGlide, a manufacturer of home medical equipment, offers a complete line of stair lifts. The AmeriGlide Ultra Standard is one of my favorites. It can support up to 300 pounds and span distances of up to 32 feet. It has a swivel seat to make it easier to get on and off of the device, and it has built in safety sensors that can detect objects on the stairs. &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;One of the best things about an AmeriGlide stair lift is that it can be installed easily with only household tools. We were able to install it in about 3 hours and it was a very straightforward process.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;It can only be installed on straight staircases though, but there are anchors available for attaching it to concrete.
