celiaemmons says "I love my macbook, I don't know what I ever did without it!" about Apple Macbook

I love my macbook! I am horrible with technology, and grew up with my dad who is a HUGE PC advocate, and so I thought apples were too difficult to use. My husband loves macs, and I succombed to his requests after 3 years. 1 year after that, we got our macbook. I fell in love with it! It is so easy to use, and I can have 15 different winows open without it affecting my computers' performance. It is lightweight and the battery lasts for so long! I have family who use PC laptops, and when there is more than one window open, it gets slower and slower until it finally freezes. The battery also only last for a small amount of time. When I take my macbook out to use, I never have to worry about finding a spot close to an electrical outlet! Also, I don't ever have to worry about viruses. This is a huge relief! I never get concerned about emails I open or anything. The only negative I have is that our power adapter stopped working after 6 mos. It was covered under warranty and they replaced it quickly...
...

celiaemmons says "Medela Pump in Style is worth every penny." about Medela Pump in Style

The Medela Pump in Style is expensive, but more than worth every penny! I once worked for the WIC program doing breastfeeding education and support, and I breastfed and pumped myself, and the Medela Pump in Style was the best pump for working moms by far! It is gentle yet affective with various settings. All of the parts are replaceable and easy to find at local stores. The sheild can be replaced with various sizes for women with smaller or larger than average breasts. It has storage space for pumped milk, and lots of information and instructions to go along with it. I have used this pump, and taught many women how to use it and heard no complaints! There are a lot of pieces, some of which are small, but it all serves a great purpose! Giving your little one your milk is worth it! I have used and worked with other pumps, and this really is the best! I tell any woman who will be breastfeeding and working to go ahead and invest in this pump, it is worth it.
...

celiaemmons says "Gap jeans are my favorite maternity pants, but expensive." about Gap Roll Top Maternity Jeans

Gap rolltop maternity jeans have been my favorite maternity jeans in my current pregnancy. (Baby number 3!) In the beginning, it was nice to be able to wear them under the belly, and now that I am in my third trimester, it is nice to have full coverage. The pattern on them is cute, too, so I don't feel like I have to hide the top part of my pants! I am glad I like them as much as I do because they were very expensive! It is worth the comfort, but it was hard to pay as much as I paid for them! (I am used to finding my jeans at consignment stores, so going to the Gap for jeans was hard!) I wish they had more patterns for the rolltop jeans, when I was there, they just had one, and I would have bought a second pair if there were another pair with a patterned top. They had some with a spandex navy top to them, but I prefer the cotton patterned style. All in all, I am very pleased with my purchase and have been able to wear them throughout the entire pregnancy.
...

celiaemmons says "Sunbeam Bread Machine is a great value!" about Sunbeam Bread Machine 5891

The Sunbeam Breadmachine 5891 has been great! I have owned it for about 2 months, and love it! I make all of the bread my family eats, and started off with an older breadmachine that I hated. Fortunately it finally died, and I got the Sunbeam. I did a lot of shopping around and research, and I am very happy with the result. I only paid $60 for it, and feel like I got quite a bargain. It isn't as big as many of the other breadmachines and it works perfectly. I wish it had double paddles, but that is just a personal preference and the single paddle has worked fine. The viewing window is large and easy to see what is going on without opening the lid. It is very easy to use with a lot of options. I mostly just make dough in the machine and then bake it myself (to get a better shape.) The handle to pull out the pan is a little flimsy when pulling it out of the hot machine with a loaf of bread in it. Other than that, I am more than happy with my purchase!
...

celiaemmons says "It's ok, I hoped for more." about Food Network 4-in-1 Griddle

The Food Network 4-in-1 Griddle was a huge disappointment. I had wanted one for months after seeing it on a Food Network show and finally got it for Christmas. The heat is inconsistant and it is very difficult to clean. Once the heat reaches where it is supposed to be, the heating element stops and the temperature drops quickly and then takes too long to kick back on. Even making simple pancakes or grilled cheese is really difficult because the heat is unpredicatable. Making meat is even more difficult for the same reason! I like that the plates come off for easier washing, but it is really hard to get the crevaces clean. It takes a long time to get out all the grease from cooking meat. I would really like to just throw the 4-in-1 Griddle in the trash and get something else, but it was a thoughtful gift from my husband and he would be hurt. Next time, I will be doing more research and not listen to advice given by the network making the grill!
...

celiaemmons says "Very good quality, but a bit expensive." about Britax Marathon

The Britax Marathon is a wonderful investment. We have one each for both our children (ages eighteen months and three years.) Our three year old was a very large baby, and has been in his since he was five months old. We started him in it rear-facing because of his age, and it was really large and awkward as a rear-facing seat, but it did the job! Both our children love their seats. Their grandma has her own car seats in her car, and they always ask if they can bring their own instead of using hers! Because they are very large and heavy, it is annoying to take them in and out of the car. I don't mind, though, because I know that they are that big and heavy for a reason. The straps and buckles withstand a lot and are easy to use and adjust. It is a very expensive car seat, but after a lot of reading and research, I felt good about getting the Britax Marathon because of the extra safty features.
...

celiaemmons says "USAA has the best quality at the lowest price!" about USAA Banking and Insurance

USAA insurance has been so helpful to our family. Our most recent claim was over a power outage that lasted a week. We were making a claim over some other damage that had been done and our agent asked us how much we lost in food. I told him, and by the end of the phone call, we had money in our account for the food we lost during the power outage. In other instances, USAA has been great through auto claims and everything. Not to mention, every once in a while I comparison shop to make sure I am getting a good deal. It never fails, USAA always has the best price!
...
