cbear70 says "Surprisingly roomy!!" about Toyota Yaris - 2007

Since paying for gas for my minivan was requiring a trip to the loan officer at the bank, my family decided it was time to go smaller. Our family will not be growing so a smaller car would be more fuel efficient and save money for all the fun stuff we love to do. Plus in my daughter's environmental eyes, we would be greener.

After much reseach we chose the Toyota Yaris, 4 door sedan, manual. We love it so much. We knew what we were getting for the price but were very pleasantly surprised at the room inside the vehicle. I have two teens and there is plenty of space for both of them. My husband is a very big guy and he is quite comfortable. The car handles beautifully and is great to park and amazing for uturns. The Yaris has way more pep than I expected and being the resident lead foot in the family, I enjoy the car so much.

The gas mileage is unbelievable so trekking back and forth to football practice will be a breeze. And no longer will day trips cost an arm and a leg.

My only problems......

cbear70 says "Tempermental at best" about Philips Senseo Espresso Machine

Morning coffee, afternoon coffee, evening coffee.. it doesn't matter when you drink it, but when you demand good coffee, you want to rely on the coffee maker to come through. When I first purchased the Senseo , I was thrilled. I had my first pod coffee maker. Since I am the only one in the family that drinks it, it was important to have a one cup maker. I loved the ideas of pods, different flavors for my many different moods. But since day one, the Senseo has been tempermental. Some days it will work great, others it will leak and just generally not work. It is overall very noisy and tends to bounce my coffee cup around. I have followed all instructions, even contacting the company but to no avail.

My advice- Skip the Senseo! There are better models out there that are more versatile and just plain make a better cup of coffee...
...

cbear70 says "Good Food and Friendship " about Okoboji Grill - Iowa City , IA

On a recommendation from a friend, I arranged a monthly lunch meeting at Okoboji's. The service was excellent and served in a timely manner. The menus were outstanding and very descriptive. My mouth watered at the way the food was presented. The waitress was kind and helpful in explaining our choices. The atmosphere was pleasant which lended to a very nice, casual meeting.

A couple of cons; the food was a bit pricey for the portions served. I had ordered a wrap and it was tiny, but otherwise delicious. I had wanted a certain dessert whose picture was plastered everywhere. It looked incredibly enticing but after ordering it, the manager came out and apologized that they had forgotten to defrost the dessert. That was disconcerting. We subsitituted a creamy chocolate and ice cream but just had my heart on the original berry cheesecake.

Overall, a wonderful place to meet with friends and enjoy a wonderful meal.
...
