Some of the softest flannel receiving blankets I have used are the Piccolo Bambino Receiving Blankets, available at select retailers...and TJ Maxx. Being the perpetual frugalista, I purchased my 3-pack of blankets "inspired by Italian tradition" at the discount store for $6.99. Each blanket has a different pattern. Dimensions measure 30" by 36". Azo-free dyes are used, so there is less concern about potentially carcinogenic ingredients in the fabric the baby is wrapped up in. The blankets are made of 100% cotton and are a super-soft flannel...much softer than Gerber, Circo (Target-brand) and even Carter's! Gifts sets are available in packs of 3 or 6 and come in a plastic gift bag with a matching ribbon...cute enough to gift in its original packaging.

My set comes in pale blue shades: one striped with two little Scottish terriers appliqued in the center, one in blue plaid, and one with a repeat pattern of tiny terriers and stitch marks. I'm guessing the blankets are more...

My daughter was a preemie and we were told over and over again that swaddling was going to be invaluable to her. My mother in law bought this for us for just that reason. My daughter HATED it. He wanted to always have her arms out and her thumb available for sucking from day one and swaddling her in this just made her angry. Also, there was a little hole that I'm sure served a purpose but we never could figure out what that purpose was except for her to get her tiny feet stuck in it.

I have heard great things about this from other parents; it really does a great job swaddling and the velcro closure is great because with regular blankets, babies can easily squirm their way out of a tight swaddle. With this, until they learn to undo velcro or use a lot of strength to pull it open, they aren't likely to get out.

Carter's Just One Year Baby Blankets

Baby blankets are just one of those baby items that are a most have all year round but they can be oh so sweet too.

Our prized baby blankets were hand made, whether crocheted, knitted or quilted but some of our most practical and enjoyed were either from Disney or from Carter's Just One Year. Carter's makes many styles of baby blankets but my favorite is the Carter's Just One Year 2 sided fleece blanket.

What does 2 sided fleece mean?

This Carter's Just One Year blanket has a soft, soft plush fleece on side and a warm, warm pile fleece on the other. One reminds you of a soft plush toy and the other reminds you of the fuzzy and warm fleece jackets by Patagonia.

Of course we want all blankets to be soft to baby's skin but this soft blanket feels great on the parent's or caregiver's arms too.

If I am just swaddling for comfort, I use the plush side next to baby but if I need to keep baby warm, I put the pile fleece inside. Either way, baby and I both...

One of the coziest, softest blankets I've found is the Kids Line Brown Star Receiving Blanket. A 100% polyester 30" x 30" blanket, this lovely wrap for babies comes in a chocolate brown background with cream-colored stars on the front. The back side of the blanket has a cream-colored background with chocolate brown stars, so it can be used reversibly. It comes folded with a ribbon, so it makes a lovely gift.

The Kids Line Brown Star Receiving Blanket is machine washable and machine dryable, so it can be used for every day needs. This is great for wrapping up an infant or as a lovey for toddlers. It looks so cute, I'm tempted to only use it for special outings, but since it can be cleaned easily, every day use is no concern! The colors have not bled, but I do wash it with darks, just to be on the safe side.

I got several things at my baby shower that I did not register for, but I am very glad I did. Carter's Sweet Baby Blanket is one of the things that I didn't register for, but I ended up loving it regardless. It is one of the softest blankets my son owns!

The Carter's Sweet Baby Blanket comes in a variety of colors, including: blue, pink, white, yellow, lilac, sage and ecru. It measures 30" x 40", so it isn't a full-size blanket, but it is big enough for a stroller, car seat or playpen. Each color blanket has its own theme. I have the blanket in blue, so the word "baby" is embroidered into the blanket with a baseball and a bat. I love this blanket because it is SO soft. It is softer than velour, velvet and any other fabric I have felt. One side is super soft and the other side has the standard polyester backing.

Carter's Baby Blanketsare high quality and durable. My son loves his so much we had to go out and buy duplicates so that we would be able to wash them. We have several different styles and each one is as cute as the next. I have always been a fan of carter's products because they were adorable but only after having children did I realize what a great value they really were. Carter's Baby Blanketsare soft and strong. We still use some that are over 5 years old now and still look new. They've been washed tons of times and had every possible thing spilled of them and drug through everything imaginable but always remain that soft 'blankie' the kids fell in love with. I buy them for all my friends' baby showers and they love them the same way I do. Carter's Baby Blankets never let me down. If your looking for something that can grow with your children I highly suggest you give these a try.

I bought these blankets for my neice and nephew when they were bornI thought they were adorable and I have one for my youngest son now. He is seven months old now. He loves it and sleeps with it all the time at night and during his naps. It is a great size for a baby. I was able to give it to him while he slept in his crib as a newborn and not worry about him getting tangled up in it. It has little patches of fabric that stick out on all four sides and my son loves to chew on them and play with them. There are different textures in the fabric of the blanket so that he can feel the softness of fleece and the smootheness of the silk-like fabric. When I give hi his blanky he knows it's time for bed and he always snuggles up with it and curls up to go to sleep.

It's very similar to another blanket of another brand that is more expensive, but I think this one is much cuter and better for baby.

When we brought our daughter home from the hospital, it was in the heat of the summer. I wanted to run the AC but we also had to keep her warm. She was and still is a very active baby. She kicks and moves her hands constantly and we could not keep her covered at night. She would wake up crying. She would also get the blankets lose and was able to pull them over her face. It didn't matter how tight we would swaddle her. I finally came across these blankets at Toys R Us and I loved them. She was actually able to sleep through the night and I didn't have to worry about her being cold or getting the blankets over her face. They were a life saver! After just a short time, she outgrew the small ones and it was impossible to find the large ones in the store. I finally found them on EBay and bought a couple so when I am washing one, I still have one to use. I bought one cotton and one flannel so depending on the temp, I have one for either hot or cool nights!

I got my first Carter's Sweet Baby blanket as a gift when my oldest son was born more than two years ago. It is so amazingly soft and cozy, and is quite thick compared to other blankets of it's size. My children were born in a very cold climate and it was warm enough to keep them cozy when going for car rides. My eldest son is very particular about the softness of his blankets, and he loves this one. It comes in a range of colors, including a sage green, pink, light blue, white and yellow. One downside that I have noticed in my experience with the Sweet Baby blanket is that one side is a soft fleecey fabric and the other side is more of a matte fabric. The inside, the less soft of the two, easily pills and picks up little balls of other fabrics that it is exposed to, either from your child's clothes or from the laundry. On a positive note, we have had one of the Sweet Baby blankets for more than two years, and besides the pilling it has held up very well over time.

We bought a Carter's plush baby blanket from Babies R Us and it is amazing. It holds up well in the wash and is still as soft as it was in the store. We several other plush blankets of supposedly the same quality, but their softness has decreased after so many times in the wash. One even is loosing it's color. The Carter's blanket we bought was green with white polka dots and brown trim and a appliqued elephant. The applique is still connected very well and shows no signs of wear at all. It's the perfect size to wrap up and cuddle our son. They also have other really cute designs in all colors and styles, you're sure to find something that you like. I wish Carter's made adult sized blankets - they are thicker than most plush blankets. We also bought ours on a really good sale (buy one, get one 50% off) and we had a 15% off coupon on any one baby item at Babies R Us. I have been using the Carter's baby blankets ever since my first son was born 5 years ago. We love them. They hold up better than a lot of other brands. they are very soft, very warm and very durable. They seem to wash better than other blankets we have tried. They are also a great size. Just right for baby but can also grow with a child. My 5 year old still sleeps with the carter's blanket that he received as a baby. It may not completely cover him anymore but acts like more of a security device than anything else and even after 5 years, it has held up well. There are excellent color choices to match any decor. The blankets are great for either boys or girls and are a very good buy for the money. The value you get from these blankets is definitely worth the extra money that you will initially pay for them because in many cases, you will never have to buy another one for the same child. A great buy and I would highly recommend them.

The Halo sleepsack is a must-have for baby. I did have the micro fleece sleepsack but I would recommend any of the Halo sleepsacks. I always worry about my children getting too warm with the long sleeve sleepsacks on so I really like that this is sleeveless. It's great to put on long sleeve winter pajamas and then the sleepsack without worrying that your child will be uncomfortable (either too hot or too cold). I had this product when my kids were little babies up until theycould walk. It's much safer than putting a blanket in their bed with them. It gave me peace of mind because I never worried that my child(ren) were getting tangled up in blankets. The Halo sleepsacks also come in a wide variety of colors and patterns. I like that they also come in cotton and fleece, depending on the weather. They also have some for littler babies that allow you to swaddle the baby. Halo makes a great product and I highly recommend this sleepsack.

My husband purchased the Snug & Hug swaddling blanket for me at Target when he found it on sale. We love a good deal, and this blanket is so stylish. I'd rather pay a little bit more for something cute than to get something ugly. I took it to the hospital with me, and began using it when my son was just a few hours old. He LOVED it. Since I cannot get the receiving blankets wrapped as tightly as the nurses do. He's now 10 days old and still loving it, I plan on using it as long as he continues to love it.

When my son, now 3 years old, was a mere 12 weeks old.we were struggling to get him to sleep AT ALL. He would break out of traditional swaddles and smack himself in the face, and he would even break out of velcro swaddles. Enter the Miracle Blanket. For the first time in his short life, my son slept for a 5-hour stretch. He would calm down immediately when we used it. I only wish we had discovered it sooner! Now that I have another infant, we swaddle her in the Miracle Blanket as well. We had started with traditional hospital blankets, but as soon as she was out of them we switched to the Miracle Blanket, and she is a happy sleeper. Plus I found that when my son became a better sleeper, he became happier as well!

I have seen a couple of people say that babies do not develop well when swaddled in this blanket. I can state for a fact that my son's gross and fine motor skills were not at all delayed after four months in this blanket!

Kiddopotamus Swaddle Blanket

I was having a tough time putting my baby to sleep until a friend suggested to use a swaddler. I got the swaddle blanket and would swaddle my baby soon after his bath. He would just snug in all wrapped up and go off to sleep just by the time i would finish swaddling him. He just loved it! I have been using the swaddler right from the time he was a newborn adn he is 6 months old now and still loves to be swaddled after his bath time. Intially I would wrap his arms too which he loved them but noe I have to take his arms off as he no longer appreciates them being wrapped up inside the swaddler. This product can particularly be good for winter babies to keep them warmer and snuggier in the cold season. Though mine was not a winter baby, still I used it quite a lot and my baby was happy about it. Now as it is getting cooler, he doesn't mind even being swaddled during the entire ngiht that he sleeps. Its a boon for parents with fussy sleepers!

We love the SwaddleMe blankets. My baby will not sleep without one. It makes me feel like my baby is safe and secure and there isn't a risk of suffocating on loose blankets. Sometimes the material gets too stretched out and will not keep him swaddled though. Also the velcro isn't always sticky.

When we brought our son home from the hospital, he would not sleep, but we decided to start swaddeling him with the SwaddleMe blankets. All of a sudden our newborn was sleeping for at least three hours straight; sometimes we had to wake him up so he could eat. He is now four months old and is still being swaddled in SwaddleMe blankets. We tried to have him unswaddled and he hated it!

The features I like best about the SwaddleMe blankets are the velcro tabs, the designs, and the soft fabrics. However, after a few days of wearing the swaddle me, the fabric becomes stretched out and it no longer holds my son in, he can break free because the tabs have to stretch over the place they...

This Kiddopotamus SwqaddleMe blanket is great for young babies. It keeps them feeling safe and secure and warm. This is a must have item for every new parent. We had attended lamaze class and learned about the importance of swaddling a new baby to help them sleep. It seems that movement of their arms as they sleep can wake them and cause them to have trouble sleeping. This was really true for my son. No matter how hard we tried, we just couldn't get the hang of swaddling him like the nurses in the hospital did. Thank goodness for this blanket. It had velcro attachments that easily help you swaddle baby tightly. It also helps keep baby nice and warm during chilly nights without the fear that blanket will cover their face or wrap around their neck can. They come in many colors and are very soft and pleasing. I would recommend this to all new parents for their little ones. You will notice that they sleep better too.

This is by far the greatest thing a new mom (or dad) can own. And one of the best gifts we have recieved! I tend to keep a cold house so this always keeps our babies warm. And best yet they LOVE being wrapped up in these swaddlers. They also come in cute patterns and colors. We bought a fuzzy white one for our new baby coming in November and I just can't wait to use it! I used the light weight ones for our son born in the summer...and it never got too hot for him to use. I recommend this to every new parent or person buying for a new parent..or just any parent. Also great to take with you since it's easy to fold. Also easy to wash...just make sure the velco is attached to the blanket so it doesn't grab other clothing. I also LOVE how you can use them in the carseat to keep baby warm and happy. Just put the blanket behind baby, strap baby in and wrap baby in the swaddler. Easy as that! 5 stars!!

It was an nice way to celebrate the birth of my first Grandchild. I know for sure any future grandchildren will also have a Blankie just like the first.

Everyone is asking my daughter-in-law where did she get the blanket. She has taken Iva's picture laying on the Blankie and you can see all the wording and are able to read the words. I do like the Molly's Herringbone Blanket I picked the Anjou Pear with white binding - the color goes with everything and it's so soft.

Thank you for you wonderful service it makes a nice way to remember of such a special day in our lives. The birth of a child is such a wonderful gift from God and I hope we can celebrate other occasions with a remembrance Blankie.

Ok just let me say how great I think this product is, its great! My husband and I are the proud new parents of a baby girl, this is our first child so of course we went and took the parenting and birth classes and read all the books. Unfotunately taking the classes and reading the books and then applying this knowledge to real life, two COMPLETELY different things. I had actually bought a couple of the Swaddleme's before our daughter was born thinking that they were a neat idea, and also knowing in the back of my mind that I probably would have a problem with swaddling with a regular receiving blanket. Of course I was right, I had a hard time in our class with swaddling and that was on DOLL, not a moving, kicking, screaming newborn. So I had packed a Swaddleme for our trip to the hospital and it really was a lifesaver! It was soooo easy to use! and the velcro makes for a nice snug fit, much snugger than I could have ever done myself using a receiving blanket. Once she was swaddled, I swear...
