This used to be a great school, but starting 2009 it went downhill. The director of the school is unresponsive to complains, unorganized and blames her problems on how "under staff" she is. It's the most expensive pre-school in the area so that's inexcusable. I give credit to few great teachers like Miss Gayleene or Miss Jeanine. They are strict but also loving and kids love them. The other older long term teachers need to go. They've been doing this for too long and forgotten why they gotten into the profession in the first place. They pick and choose who they want in their classrooms and "refuse" to have certain kids.... Just because a 2 or 3 year old is more active doesn't give them the right to treat the child bad or ignore them. I finally decided to give my two-week notice to pull my child out. As soon as I did, they removed his name from his cubby, and his blanket and backpack were on the dirty floor like he doesn't exist anymore and I never knew which classroom to find...
...

I have 3 boys who all attended Peppertree School for 2 years of preschool. They made their first friends there and still love to go back and visit them. They enjoyed circle time, art, cooking, and outside play. The teachers there do an awesome job keeping th kids curiousity and really teaching them more than academics. They learn through play and experiment. They also taught independence, social skills, and what it means to be in a community. They do 2 fundraisers a year that are fun for the family. A pumpkin patch and Christmas tree lot. The kids get to go out there and play with all the fun stuff like bikes, pumpkin walk, jump house, etc. I would recommend this preschool to anyone in the los gatos, san jose, or campbell area.
...

<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Helvetica;">Monarch Day Camp located in N. Hollywood, CA is NOT A SAFE camping experience for your child. It is located on the grounds of Los Angeles Valley College. My son and daughter were verbally and physically assaulted by BOTH a camper AND a Camp Counselor named Julio Chiong. Julio Chiong, a 'registered urgent care nurse' that has been with the camp for 'over 30 years' physically assaulted my 11 yr old son on a 5-day 4-night camp at Two Harbors Campground on Catalina Island. The Camp Director, Paul Goldin, was quick to defend the perpetrators (in multiple incidents) and, the incidents were reported to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and District Attorney. The incidents were completely unprovoked and out of the blue. I urge anyone considering sending their child to this camp DON'T DO IT!

"Amazing". I can not think of a better way to describe Cranium Clubhouse. I am a very picky mother and had not found any local preschool that met my expectations. The owners of Cranium took the time to show me past results for their last few graduating classes and I was floored. They have several kids in gifted programs at all the local elementary schools. Their building is awesome - they had a local artistic company do the entire inside.....this company does animation work for Disney. The learning programs are technology based. My child is learning math and reading using this huge interactive touch screen in the classroom. I watched him move these animated apples from the trees and into baskets while he was learning to count and group things. They customize the reading and math learning skills for each child and I have never heard of a place that has done something like that before. They are exposing him to several different languages and topics in Astronomy, Economics, Earth Science,...
...

Homework is given everyday at accept on friday. On friday there are tests on what they have obtain throught the week. The after school program is wonderful most of the students homework is completed before leaving school I enjoy the extra help my child is receiving. My child loves gym. I love the fact that when the child arrives home I don't have to work so hard like in the past I was totally burned out . The other school my child was in I never hardly even seen the principal they stayed at a great distance ad always put the assistant principal up to dealing with the parents.

My son went to the French International School and graduated from it in 2005. The program there is good, but it is the standard curriculum imposed by the French government, and it is very solid. The execution of it at the French school, however, is iffy at best. Some teachers are excellent; some even extraordinary, especially in elementary school (well, back when my son was there), but some are downright bad, and nothing is done about it. If they are so bad that lots of parents get really noisy, the teacher is eventually removed, but nothing is done in the interim to minimize the negative impact on the students. The school authorities have no authority to critique the quality of teaching or to make improvements (even simple) if they are needed. Also, there is no accountability for teachers and no incentive to do a good job. The French authorities in France are too far away to know about the problems, and the American authorities have no authority.

The English program is a joke! Maybe it...
...

As a working mom, I'm very picky about daycare, and I feel so lucky to have found Carpe Diem. Both my girls have gone there for the last several years. The school is clean and safe, and offers web cams so I can check in on them during the day. Their curriculum focuses on unique and play based learning methods, which includes music, spanish, computer, drama, art, activity centers and story time. They also offer outside vendors such as dance and gymnastics. The teacher ratio is high and the staff turns over very little. My huband and I have been extremely pleased with this high quality education. Our older daughter graduated to kindergarten and was extremely prepared for the next level. The school is more expensive than some preschools, however, the benefits are well worth the investment.
H. Carroccio
...

Carpe Diem Private Preschool has been a positive investment for us in ensuring the best foundation for our child's early development. Initially, we went with an inexpensive daycare only to be greatly disappointed. When our daughter started Carpe Diem, we were very impressed by the educated and knowledgeable staff, the high quality curriculum, clean and secure environment, and the engagement of parents. I feel a part of my child's day watching them on the webcams and reviewing the daily plans. The enrichment of computers, Spanish, music, and sign language broadens the capacity of any other preschool in the area. Carpe Diem is so much a part of our lives that we informed the school of our expected second child before notifying anyone else - we wanted to ensure baby #2 had a spot!
...

Carpe Diem is a WONDERFUL school and definitely the top in Frisco. I have had 2 children attend there and I could not be more impressed with the teachers, curriculum, cleanliness, and overall attitude of all the staff there. It is wonderful to have all food provided and not have to worry about packing lunches. It also gives the kids a chance to try a wider variety of foods! The Pre-K program is especially impressive. My child went to Kindergarten VERY prepared and set up to be successful in Elementary and have a love for learning and for school set up by Carpe Diem. I highly recommend this school!
...

My three year old son has been attending Carpe Diem since he was 1 ½ years old. Since he has been at the school, he has become very independent in his thinking and in his behavior. He is learning how to relate what he learns in class to his everyday experiences and observations. For example, in his class they did an art project of Beethoven. The project required him to sponge paint Beethoven's hair on construction paper. He came home telling me his Auntie Stacy has big hair like Beethoven. My proudest moment of his independence just happened recently. He woke up at 4 am and went to potty all by himself. He didn't come to my room at all. When he was done, he climbed into his bed and went back to sleep. I said to myself, "My baby is growing up."

Carpe Diem has indeed played a major role in helping us raise an independent child.
...

Carpe Diem is the name of the place where I send my children without any worries. I have a 4 year old son and a 5 months old daughter and I am very very satisfied with the school.

I like this school for numerous reason like:

Low children to teacher ratio

Valuing the child as an individual within the context of their family and community

Helps in recognizing the nature of children's play as it affects learning in areas such as math, science, language, literacy etc

It acknowledges and supports children's individual learning styles

Help children make meaning, and make sense of themselves and everything

Develop children's abilities to observe, perceive, explore, investigate, imagine. and problem solve

Focus on daily routines such as eating, toileting, dressing, and resting as opportunities for learning and social development

Recognize the need for children to practice skills and consolidate their learning by providing opportunities for repetition of experiences and expression of their ideas...
...

My son just graduated from Carpe Diem - Richardson and is adjusting so well to public kindergarten. I am convinced that his experience at Carpe has helped him tremendously. Sure, it is a different world, but Carpe and his current school share a lot of the same terminology, which has been wonderful.

My younger child has been there since he was three months old and he also is doing amazingly well. I love watching him thrive in such a caring environment.

What impresses me about the school is not only that the teachers adore my children (how could they not?!) but that the administration really takes the time to get to know the kids and their parents. I have learned so much from the teachers and the administrators about crazy little tips - defeating diaper rash, for example.

But there is a music teacher! And a Spanish teacher! And a computer lab. For the older children, you can sign them up for gymnastics, soccer and/or dance! The facilities are amazing, the teachers are compassionate and...
...

It's hard for parents to find someone that they are comfortable leaving their children with for 8+ hours a day. Carpe Diem was an easy choice for me. Why do I recommend this school to others?

1) EVERY member of the staff knows my children, my husband, and me by name.

2) There are video cameras throughout the school, which enable you to check in on your child throughout the day.

3) They have a great curriculum and are learning focusued. Both my kids (2 & 4) have tested advanced by their doctor since they started attending this school. They even teach spanish, computers, and music.

4) They require fingerprint scan verification in order to enter the school.

5) The staff is very loving and pays close attention to my kids every day. I receive a detailed written report about my child each day, including eating and napping information.

I have 2 children (ages 3 and 17 months). They have attended Carpe Diem Private Preschool since they were 12 weeks old. I'm definitely a "Type A" personality, so I researched every daycare/preschool within 20 miles of my home/work. None could compete with Carpe Diem. The building is in excellent condition, and the lighting is fabulous. You don't see any advertising for the school - it is all word of mouth. In fact, I paid to hold a spot open before my baby was even born. That's how confident I was that my children couldn't go anywhere else. The teacher to student ratio is very low. And - the ratios are usually lower than the school promises. The teacher turnover is low - my 17 month old has the same teachers that my son had. This provides a lot of consistency for the parents and students. Every person that works in the school knows my children, which provides such a comforting environment. The curriculum is excellent - you know what your child is learning on...
...

mrm1022 says "Truly a "school", not just daycare! Awesome teachers & staff!" about Carpe Diem Private Preschool - Richardson,TX

My daughter has attended Carpe Diem since she was only 10 months old. She was immediately introduced to baby sign language and was able to communicate with us before she could even speak! Every classroom has webcams so you can watch what your child is doing anytime...this was one of the main reasons I chose Carpe Diem in the beginning since I was so nervous about leaving my baby somewhere...I knew they must be good if they knew we were "watching". My daughter is now 3 1/2 and just started the "Preschool" class and I rarely even check the cameras anymore...they take excellent care of her and she loves to go to school! It is amazing how much she has learned since she started. I would highly recommend this school to any parents!
...

texaschristina says "Great Education and foundation for the future" about Ronald Reagan High School - San Antonio, TX

I am so happy we moved into this district several years ago. This school may have a reputation of being "snob" or "rich" but in reality, there is a diverse group of kids from all backgrounds here and the scholastic aptitude discplayed by these kids is phenomenal.

My daughter will graduate with college credits and a terrific comprehension of subjects academically speaking as well as life skills she will need to be sucessful later.

The teachers are engaged and always responsive to parents. My daughter is dependent on scholarships for college and with her performance here, driven by dedicated teachers, that dream will be achieved.
