tooobeautiful says "Human Flute Master,Wow he does that with his mouth?" about Human Flute Master

All through out middle and high school I played the flute. I was taught how to play the flute in seventh grade. I was inspired by the "Human Flute Master." Mark Anthony Caldwell purses his lips together to mimic the sound of a flute or piccolo. He plays anything from R&B to country..........you name it he plays it. I enjoy listening to the soft sounds of a flute or piccolo especially when I can hear what ever I want to hear through his sensational whistle. If you are a flute fan or enjoy listening to anything from classical to Jazz the flute Master is where its at. He has been on CNN,Travel channel,News 13,Good-morning America,Fox 5, Entertainment tonight.....just to name a few.He has performed all through out upstate New York and east coast in just about all of the college markets,Schools,Group homes, Nursing homes,VFW and many more. He is definitely a force to be reckoned with. Mark Anthony Caldwell;(The Human Fute Master) Has his music on Cd's, I listen to...

pickleshoes says "Real Music that you want to hear." about Sirius Satellite Radio

I am a music LOVER. Across all genres and have been more than frustrated with the choices on the dial for longer than I can remember. With Sirius, you have the ability to choose from all types of music and talk when you want it. With my personal tastes that run from indie to old school hip hop, and big band sounds and everything in between, all I have to do is push a button. No commercials, and no stupid schtick.Plus I hear songs that I will never hear on "real" radio. Old favorites and new bands. I tell you, my life has been made much better by Sirius radio. For sure....

Whether you call it Bob, Jack, Dave, Mike or (Insert male name here) the "Variety Hits" format is by the best way to enjoy FM radio!! — Where I live now, we have Bob FM. I just moved from a city that had Dave FM. I am sure glad I didn't have to lose my favorite station! It's almost like listening to my personal MP3 player ... all the songs I love from the 70's-90's with a high concentration of 80's that is my ultimate favorite! (I am a Gen Xer after all) — No annoying DJ's with their inappropriate "humor" ... just really great music (with a with commercial breaks to pay the bills) — For people with eclectic taste, this is the only station you need to listen to!! I love it!! — Variety Hits - Complete Market Listings : http://www.varietyhits.com/variety/markets/index.shtml — ...

Eyerater says "A night at the Opera in the open aria." about Santa Fe Opera

Granted, it is an acquired taste. — — No, that's an understatement. Opera has been part of more jokes than the line, "a-man-walks-into-a-bar".If you got this far into this review, even with the subject line, I'm going to assume opera is not a total turn-off for you. — I must confess to having an affinity for classical music and theater. Yet, I have caught my own head in mid-nod during more than one aria. — Not this night. Not at the Santa Fe Opera. — We purchased seats in the nose-bleed section, aka, the cheap seats. Some may say that $56 per is not cheap. Compared to the bucks required to sit in the orchestra, however, it is a real bargain. You get all the pageantry of the opera at a fraction of the front row cost. — We always like to make an event out of any theater night. A performance at the Santa Fe opera qualifies. So we ordered a gourmet picnic basket from Angel Food Catering. Upon arrival at the parking lot, we put the car in park and...

Telpher says "I never knew HE sang this, too!!!!" about "Other" versions of popular songs

Have you ever heard a familiar song on the radio and realized you know the tune, you know the lyrics, but you have no idea who's singing, because it's a different version than the one you're familiar with? Maybe it's a cover verson of one of your favorite songs. Or maybe, just maybe, the version you know is actually a cover of an even earlier original. Sometimes the more obscure version of a popular tune is as good as - or even much better than - the version that gets airplay. — This is my list of "other" versions of popular songs that are even better than the versions most people know. — Shine — The recording most people know, the one that still gets tons of airplay, the original is by Collective Soul. This 1994 recording has become something of an alt rock anthem. A gorgeous song, really. However, you haven't heard Shine in all its glory unless you've heard Dolly Parton's 2001 recording. Dolly turns this edgy rock tune into a beautiful, flowing bluegrass wonder....

I have a love hate relationship with concerts....once I get there I am ready to leave....sad fact but true. There are some concerts however that I will gladly brave through hurting feet (from dress shoes...lol) for and when I heard that Jill Scott's tour was making it's way to my town I was ready well in advance! — Before I get to the main reason for this review lets deal with the opening act Raheem DeVaughn. I was rather less than kind to his latest CD in a review I wrote and when I heard that he was the opener I said "well....I don't mind being late" but when you are with a group majority rules so there we were on time for his set and I must admit I changed my mind about him....somewhat. I still think his latest CD sucks BIG time but him outside of the studio however is a far different experience in that he and his band connect well with the audience and come across excellently live. — Every time I see Jill Scott live each performance seems to out do the...

Have you ever heard a song on the radio and been taken right back to a scene in a movie? Sometimes the music written for, or used in a film is as good as, or even better than, the film, itself. Here's my list of the 10 best movie songs (in no special order), ever - judge for yourself. — I Would Die 4 U - Prince and the Revolution. The movie: Purple Rain. A fun, if dated and corny, movie, but an amazing soundtrack. There's not a loser in the entire album, but this one stands out for me for its' energy, great beat, amazing vocals, and incredible musicianship. — My One and Only Love - Sting. The movie: Leaving Las Vegas. This movie is a heartbreaker, and this version of a jazz standard does me in, every time. I'm not sure I've heard a better version of this song, even though it's been recorded dozens of times. — Miss Celie's Blues (AKA Sister) - Tata Vega. The movie: The Color Purple. I'm not a huge fan of Lionel Ritchie, but he nailed it when he wrote the lyrics for...

I had this for six months free in a car that I recently purchased and allowed it to expire without a second though. Generally, my taste in music is not very broad and I could not justify the monthly expense to listen to all of three channels that repeat a lot of content. Sirius might advertise its voluminous content and variety, but you have to step back and first ask yourself if you really want to listen to all of that. I'm not one for country, gospel, rap, hip hop, most rock, "smooth" jazz (blech), sports, and political yammering, so that effectively limits me to just a handful of channels. It's better to just spend my money on a multi-disk CD player where I have full control over the content. — — I will admit one thing....the jazz selection was a bit better than XM. —...

Paid, in full, with credit card, $544 on 10/22/07 — 3. Rented my violin on 11/13/07 ($88.16 paid) — 4. I didn't get an instructor until beginning of December....my first lesson wasn't until 12/06/07...The excuse was that they couldn't find anyone that had time to start with a new student. — 5. Subsequently, my instructor missed our next lesson on 12/16/07 — 7. We played phone tag for several weeks...and she didn't call me back until I had complained to Amadeus about calling her 3 times and not getting any response. — 8.
Ma-Goose says "In honor of PattyTherre's list of "HUH?" misenterpreted songs" about misc. music

PattyTherre recently started me thinkin'...damn it. Now the rooms going to smoke up with my brain works. — Yep...got me thinkin' and so I thought of a couple of those songs that I sang as a kid, teen and even adult that I just boogied to and didn't delve deeper for the interpretation hiding in those seemingly innocent lyrics... — 1. Simon and Garfunkle's? "Puff The Magic Dragon"...sweet and innocent as I was, I actually believed that it was all about a young boy and his imaginary pet dragon. Damn it...some pot smokin' hippie thought long and hard about it and idolized his vice in a song. (Never meddle in the affairs of dragons because to them, you are crunchy and taste good with catsup.) — 2. Eagles, "Hotel California"...OK, I really thought it was glaringly obvious that this song was about a hotel. Someone once tried to talk me into thinking it was about a guy who get's a bit "peckish for some nookie" and decides to visit a whorehouse but now with a little...

I love music and always have. I'm one of those people who sing along and just plug in my own words when I don't know the actual lyrics. I take songs at face value. If the singer says he is singing about candy, I believe he is talking about the sweet kind you get at the store. I just don't dig too deeply into meanings of songs. Well, I started thinking about a few songs that I liked and sang and then realized they had totally different meanings than I thought. I want to share a few with you. And then I'd love you to share your "misunderstood song meanings" with me in my comments area! — These are in no order, just off the top of my head. — Seven Songs I Listened To, Not Realizing Their Meanings — 1.) Timothy by the Buoys — This song came out ages ago - before I was born. I was really young when I heard it and I thought it was a sad song about three guys trapped in a mine who struggle to stay alive. When they are saved, one of them is missing and is never found....

I had a fantastic experience a few years ago with D'Addario. I had bought a single bass string without checking the length and it turned out to be too long for the Danelectro six-string bass I wanted to use it on (the main part of it was too big around to pull through the tuning post hole). I sent it to the company with an explanation that I was experimenting with different guages and tunings on a short-scale baritone/six-string. I asked if they would replace it with one meant for the Jerry Jones/Danelectro style. I figured it was a long shot that they would even reply, but they astounded me by sending me 3 single strings AND 3 free full sets of variouis gauges. Customer sevice like that has to be rewarded, so I'm buying virtually all my strings from D'Addario from now on. —...
