Dread009 says "brings an easier-to-use interface, an improved browser, and new " about AT&T (formerly Cingular)

Fortunately, AT&T didn't mess with the display. The HTC Pure boasts a WVGA (400x800) resistive touch screen. Images and text pop with color and clarity, and though we would have preferred a capacitive screen since it doesn't require as much pressure or precision as resistive screens do, we found that the Pure's display worked just fine over our testing period. It also has a built-in accelerometer, which will automatically change the screen orientation from portrait to landscape when you rotate the phone. We found it to be quite responsive, but do note that this doesn't work in all apps, though it does for Web pages, e-mail, photos, and video.

As for input methods, the Pure offers an onscreen QWERTY keyboard, including a landscape keyboard. Despite looks, both the portrait and landscape keyboards are pretty easy to use and, with some practice, we were able to type pretty quickly with minimal mistakes. The buttons provide haptic feedback when touched, so you'll feel a vibration to let you...
...

LarissaVass says "bad service" about T-Mobile

T-mobile has the cheapest plans, including family, roaming etc. Besides that nothing good. Cell phones expensive, no big choice of them. Customer service not good, very hard to understand their billing system. T-mobile loves to cheat you with different promotions - you'll get it only if you spend a week with them on phone and the month figuring out different details. So you'll win a buck or two. If you have family plan be ready to stay with T-mobile forever, because actually each family person has it own time-plan. Think twice (better three times) before adding the other family member to plan - they all ends at the different time, so you'll stuck with your old phone forever, or stuck with T-mobile. Any additional service making the plan more and more expencive, even they tell that this is free. Very slow getting your voice-mail - up to 2 days!

allthebest says "ATT Customer Service: an ulcer every time!" about AT&T

At this point in my life, I dread calling utitlities such as AT&T. Our contract is up in a week and I just called to get the exact date. We had been planning to renew and after the aggravation tonight trying to get a question about when my contract ends, I am looking elsewhere.

The ATT person who took my call sounded like he looked forward to getting every last detail and name and number and whatever else he could thing to waste my time. Then he had the nerve to say he had questions for me!! Why does ATT think it can waste my time after they repeatedly ask me reduntant questions?

I have had to call ATT over the past two years that we have had our service. I do appreciate that lately calls are answered within ten minutes or even sooner. Additionally, calls have dropped only a handful of times, including when my service was Cingular (which was since 2005ish). That is why I gave them two stars. Other than that, every time I call, I have to go through the automated voicemail gauntlet,...
...

I have been with AT & T since the days of Cingular was their cell phone carrier. I even go back to the old phone bag days. So we have a good relationship, one that I have only thought of changing, but never have. At one time they had poor coverage in cell towers and my roaming fees were killing me, but I never changed. I moved a couple of times over the years and with each move my service stayed the same, the price was usually the same also. And with time Cingular changed too, they changed their name to just AT & T and still kept the great service I was accustomed to. Also with the change came better service with my old NOKIA phone and more cell towers meant better coverage for the area's I went to. Now I still get some bad reception at times, but I live in the foothills and low areas mean no coverage at times. But 9 out of 10 times I never loose signals. So I will stay with AT & T and keep our great relationship going strong.
...

mspw says "MetroPCS is a great local prepaid cell service." about MetroPCS

I have been using MetroPCS cell service for over a year and have had excellent coverage. The reason the service suits my needs is that I do not require much long-distance. I do not text. I do not access the internet via my cell phone. My cell phone is my only telephone service. I do not have a ground-line.

The ways the company gouges you is in long-distance minutes you buy in advance, internet access, 411 information calls, text messaging, roaming minutes, pre-paid, of course and downloadable ring-tones.

Another down-side to this company is that they seem to recirculate their phone numbers quickly. During the first 3 months of my service I got many calls from collection agencies looking for people I've never heard of. Many were persistent in that I was the person they sought. This was particularly annoying.

The upsides are that the sound quality is exceptional, the coverage suits my needs, I get unlimited calls to whomever, whenever I choose, local-calls only. I have...
...

socprof1 says "STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!" about Cincinnati Bell

The service is about what you'd expect, but the primary issue with Cincinnati Bell is their so-called customer service. I have had billing error after billing error with my wireless service, and spent hours on the phone trying to resolve these issues. The most recent issue occured when I purchased a new phone (not a new phone line, just upgraded my current handset) and they 'accidentally' reverted my account to the non-bundled price...over $40 additional in charges due to their mistake. After spending almost 25 minutes on the phone trying to get this issue resolved with the inept customer service rep, I was told that a credit would appear on my next bill...meaning they expected me to PAY an extra $40 THIS month because of their mistake??? According to this person, there is no way to adjust this current bill so I have to pay the entire bill this month and have a credit next month?? Um, excuse me, on what PLANET should I have to pre-pay an amount I don't owe, so that it can be (supposedly)...
...

Customer service is outstanding with friendly representatives to help with your problems they are available by email or online also phone.

I have not tried Boost (nor will I ever) since it is part of Sprint. I have tried all of the 4 major cell phone companies (Verizon, AT&T, T-mobile, and Sprint). Most people I know agree with me when it comes to rating them. Verizon has good service but prices are the highest. T-mobile has good service and good prices. AT&T has average service with average prices. Sprint has average call service at high prices but the worst customer service including overcharging you and not correcting their overcharges even after you threaten to call the Better Business Bureau. I can not fathom how they are still in business after years of ripping off the public! I have never been overcharged by any of the other 3 big cell phone companies but I have settled on T-mobile because they are a little less expensive.
...

I've only had T-Mobile for a little over a year. They have never let me down though. They have the best customer service of any provider that I have been with, and I've tried the majority of the major carriers.

The Customer service reps are always happy and cheerful to help you if you have an issue. Even the simple things, like changing your account/plan are easier to do with them! You just have to give a few details to verify who you are, then tell them what you want, and they do the rest.

NICE, HELPFUL PEOPLE WORK AT T-MOBILE! If for any reason you get somebody not so nice, you can always hang up and try again.

They have some of the best plans in the business - def the cheapest, The biggest bang for your buck!!
...

Virgin Mobile is without a doubt provides the worst customer service I have ever experienced...and I'm an old fart. Let me rant. I got a VM cell for my brother and I agreed to pay for it. The first month, no problem, but then I started getting billed twice a month and in October, 2009 three times a month. One would think that this is a very simple problem to correct. But let me tell you - I have lived a nightmare talking to their customer "service" people. I had my charge card bills in hand and told them when and how much they charged me. The VM person "could not see these charges" on their screens. So I emailed them and listed the charges. Their responses were like those of a child. Whoever answers the phone - and I have talked to numerous VMers - cannot seem to help me for various reasons. It's almost like the Dawn of the Dead over there at Virgin Mobile. I have been in touch with the "ourteam" group and they are horrible. I rarely complain but let me warn you - stay...
...

At first I didn't like this company but eventually I grew to like the fact that this company is very straight forward they show you the minuets that you have used and that you have remaining right there on the screen, so that you cant go over any minuets and you always know how many that you have. The only suggestion that I have for this company is that they get with the program and offer something free, like free nights and weekends or free mobile to mobile. I didn't like some of the coverage either, in some areas I had an echo in the cell phone although it could have just been the LG phone that I was using. The company offers very reasonably priced phone at lots of locations so it is easy to find and purchase a phone. I do have another suggestion for the company and it is that if you are going to offer your services at Dollar stores then you should offer lower priced minuets like offer a ten dollar card other than that Tracfone is great.
...

Sprint was the only company that would give me a plan without a deposit and they approved me for up to three lines! Sprint rocks in my books because of the chance they took on me when no other cell phone carrier would. I would recommend Sprint to anyone that is having a hard time finding a cell phone provider that will accept them for a reasonable deposit. I walked into the store in the mind frame that I was going to have to pay around a two hundred dollar deposit because I knew that Sprint was known for at least the lowest deposits but when the customer service agent told me that I was approved fro three lines and no deposit.. I almost kissed her. I was in such need for a cell phone at that time. They also offer some very reasonable plans, I signed up for the plan that offers the unlimited talk to any cell phone and unlimited data and texting which is waht I use the most. I would suggest that if get a phone, get one with sprint.
...

I need my cell for emergencies - I do not text, look at TV or videos or play music, so this is great for me! I have 200 minutes per month and use probably only 60, so it would be nice to have rollover, but then all that would result if oodles of left over minutes that I do not need. So far, my only complaint is that if you try to get second line for another ATT phone it won't work -plus activation fee is $35.00. Will stay with this for awhile untiI I become more technically savvy - the will look into "deals" offered by other carriers.
...

I've been with a large company for many years. Almost 10 if I remember correctly. Dont know if I'm allowed to say the name, but it starts with a "S" and ends with "print".... Didn't have any problems with them, but with the way times are, I wanted to save where I could.

I use my phone to make phonecalls and that's it. I do not text or surf the web on it. I use on average less than 100 mins a month. I was paying too much for extra fluff that I didnt use or need. Almost went with some of the prepaid plans out there, but I didnt want to deal with having to buy mins. Then I saw the Consumer Cellular commercial on TV. When I calculated out the price of what I used a monthly with prepaid or C.C., it was relatively close. I personally prefer having a montly plan. Just what I'm use to I guess.

I didn't call my order in. I did it online, so I can't comment if I'm talking to someone that I can actually understand or not.....

Verizon wireless had some good phone plans. There plans have some good features; such as free mobile to mobile & texting to other verizon wireless users. They also have good plans allowing for alot of pkg phone minutes and family share plans. There plans include such features as caller id, basic voicemail service, 3 way calling, texting, picture & video messaging.

However, their service reliability seems to be getting worse. I have had verizon wireless for about 8 years. In the beginning, I had good signal and hardly ever lost a call. The last 3 years that I had verizon wireless service, it seemed that I was always loosing or dropping calls. About 6 - 8 months ago, I switched to Alltel service. It was amazing at the difference between the two providers. I got much better signal with Alltel and can't remember ever losing or dropping a call. Then Verizon and Alltel merged in our area and we are back with Verizon service again. I am noticing that verizon is a little better...
...

When I called from my phone right after I hit that wrong key, I used up 3 minutes, thus according to Virgin does not allow them to transfer that $20.00 to my former plan because it no longer is 200 minutes! But according to the rep I spoke with if I waited until just before the 30 days ended they would credit me the remaining minutes back into my 90 day plan. I called after 30 days and was told that they don't offer any such credit. But after much haggling, they would give me $7.50 of my remaining $16.00! Then they hung up on me. I called back and was told nothing in my account info showed any credit offer and they were not going to give me any of my remaining $16.00 back! Told the very rude service "manager" that I would like to transfer my balance from what is a 10 CENT-PER-MINUTE PLAN to...
...

tricia5257 says "NET10 cell phone service is great!" about net 10

NET10 cell phone service is the way to go when choosing a provider. First of all, the phone price starts at around $30 and comes with 300 minutes of phone service. I think that is a great bargain. The charge is just 10 cents a minute with no hidden extra charges or fees. The charge for texting is half of that. There is no credit check or activation fee. You can easily add minutes online or buy them in a store and add them onto your phone directly. And as long as you add minutes before the cut off date your unused minutes will roll over. There is also a new way to add minutes by signing up on line with your billing information(once) and then buying and adding minutes right from your phone. I think that is very convenient altough I have not signed up for that yet. For the most part I am very happy with this phone service. The reception is great-everywhere-even when traveling to different states and even in the mountains. Try NET10 phone service-you won't be disappointed....
...

melissa1990 says "T-mobile not the best choice" about T-Mobile

T-mobile was probably one of the lesser choices I have made over the years. First of all, they're sales representatives will try to sell you EVERYTHING, including this horrible 2 year contract. The phones the give you for accepting this contract are probably the most glitchy, easy to break phones they make. And they don't replace them unless you buy insurance, which is really costly. Just your basic phone & plan is going to run you upwards of $70.00. And forget about saving any of your unused minutes, they keep those at the end of the month, not you. Sure, the mobile to moblie is fine and the my five works ot okay, but compareably, other companies will offer you more for a lot less. And if you decide you want to "break up" they charge you over $200.00 for a "cancellation fee". Seriously, who can afford that? T-mobile is for people who don't mind throwing money away, and are looking for that name-brand, if you can really give it the respect at least.
...
