enwr says "UVERSE & AT&T COMPLETELY SUCKS" about AT&T - UVerse Service

Frequently shows are interrupted at our house because UVerse freezes, locks up and skips segments of shows. This is the worst, most frustrating service we've EVER had. We NEVER had problems like this with Comcast. We can rarely watch a recorded show because it's constantly interrupted and it skips, so you never quite know what you missed.

If we dare call for help, we're sure to speak with a rep in another country and definitely are guaranteed to sit on hold or if we are able to speak with a rep, we have to continuously repeat our issue-mode for at least an hour. We'd love to have any of our technical issues resolved, but my husband is a vp with a large company and I am a teacher.. leaving us zero time to devote to the required hours of wasted time on the phone.

The only reason we got AT&T was that I wanted an iPhone, which I love, it's the carrier and service that I completely loathe.

Installing the service was a nightmare because the tech spent 8 hours installing wires & cables...
...

kerr says "Very pleased with both the service and the installation" about AT&T - UVerse Service

I read the reviews. I spoke with my friends that had horror stories with the installation process with ATT Uverse. So, after much trepidation, I switched from Dish Network to ATT Uverse. I am thrilled to report that the installation went smoothly. I did have to call Tech support to setup up my WiFi, and honestly, my problem was mainly due to user error. The tech support person was wonderful and even helped me setup my email account to Microsoft Outlook. The picture is much clear, and as pathetic as it sounds, the ability to record four shows at the same time is fabulous. Do you remember the days when we actually had to use a VCR to record a show? EEK!

megatans says "Verizon wireless is an ok cell phone service provider" about Verizon Wireless Network

Verizon wireless had some good phone plans. There plans have some good features; such as free mobile to mobile & texting to other verizon wireless users. They also have good plans allowing for alot of pkg phone minutes and family share plans. There plans include such features as caller id, basic voicemail service, 3 way calling, texting, picture & video messaging.

However, their service reliability seems to be getting worse. I have had verizon wireless for about 8 years. In the beginning, I had good signal and hardly ever lost a call. The last 3 years that I had verizon wireless service, it seemed that I was always loosing or dropping calls. About 6 - 8 months ago, I switched to Alltel service. It was amazing at the difference between the two providers. I got much better signal with Alltel and can't remember ever losing or dropping a call. Then Verizon and Alltel merged in our area and we are back with Verizon service again. I am noticing that verizon is a little better...
...

jean6918 says "I am happy w/dish network, but I prefer Directv more" about Dish network

I switched from Directv to Dishnetwork, becasue the monthly cost was $30 less then Directv. I enjoy Dishnetwork, but I am missing my Directv. The DVR with dishnetwork only lets you record one program and you cannot watch another channel while that program is recording, unless the 2nd dvr in the other room is set to the channel you want to record. With Directv I could record a channel while watching another channel at the same time. I really wish Dish Network had this feature. What I do like about it though, is my recorded programs can be viewed on either Television that has the DVR hooked up. And only one box is required for the entire home. I have 4 televisions with Sattelite tv and only one receiver. Not so with Directv. So they both have their pros and cons, but my preference is with Directv. I only switched because I am saving about $60 a month by combining my home phone, internet and sattelite services. If it weren't for that I would still be with Directv. Blame it on the......

I've had various cell phone providers from California to Florida, Wisconsin, Illinois, and now Texas. All the others were mediocre compared to T-Mobile. Each had its own good points but none had the customer service that T-Mobile provides. To get a free phone a contract is required but as each contract term is met you can get another free phone. I let my grandson enjoy the use of a phone on our family plan and got an astronomical bill. He is a video freak and had downloaded many games and professed to have no knowledge of a payment required for each one. I called T-Mobile customer service to see if anything could be done and they cancelled all but one. What other cell phone provider would do that? Prior to T-Mobile I had a different provider and prior to a cross-country trip I asked if I had to pay roaming charges. They assured me I didn't. After the trip when I received the bill each call had a roaming charge added to it. I called their customer service and was...
...

First I would NOT recommend this company to anyone outside the Quad City IL area. Lived in QCA for 2 years with their cable and internet service and had nothing but good things to say about the service there. NOW I live in a new area and found their service available so AGAINST ALL MY NEIGHBORS(who have satellite do to their multiple problems with MEDIACOM) I subscribed because of the great service I recieved previously. Now Mediacom is HORRIBLE, they have tried to over charge me twice, the service goes out every other month or so, On demand works but have to mess with it to get it work and can't get Mediacom to figure out the problem, they have the RUDEST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have ever cam across. Never again, QUITTING SERVICE as soon as possible.
...

A cautionary word to people who have a $20.00 every 90 day top off plan, Virgin has put in a deceptive NEW MENU ITEM that will lock you into a 200 minute ($20.00) every 30 days when you go to top off! When I called from my phone right after I hit that wrong key, I used up 3 minutes, thus according to Virgin does not allow them to transfer that $20.00 to my former plan because it no longer is 200 minutes! But according to the rep I spoke with if I waited until just before the 30 days ended they would credit me the remaining minutes back into my 90 day plan. I called after 30 days and was told that they don't offer any such credit. But after much haggling, they would give me $7.50 of my remaining $16.00! Then they hung up on me. I called back and was told nothing in my account info showed any credit offer and they were not going to give me any of my remaining $16.00 back! Told the very rude service "manager" that I would like to transfer my balance from what is a 10 CENT-PER-MINUTE PLAN to...
...

About 4 years ago I signed with TWC Kansas City on a package for cable( up to channel 74), 768Kbps road runner (it's plenty fast for me, don't download much), and digital phone for the price of $75 a month plus taxes. Well my 1 year contract ended and for the past 3 years I have been getting the package for the same price, they never have raised the price on me. Well about 2 weeks ago I got a letter stating that my price will be going up $2 dollars a month, So I decided it was time to upgrade. Checked out all the options including Directv, Dish & AT&T U-verse, I found problems with all of them. The satellite cable packages come with DSL internet which I heard people have a lot of problems with the reliablity of it. Also they are not local companies so I would be sort of worried about that, and the reliability of satellites. I checked in AT&T u-verse they have a deal right now for all 3 services for $94 a month but that's only good for 6 months and then the price raises $30 so it will be...
...

tricia5257 says "NET10 cell phone service is great!" about net 10

NET10 cell phone service is the way to go when choosing a provider. First of all, the phone price starts at around $30 and comes with 300 minutes of phone service. I think that is a great bargain. The charge is just 10 cents a minute with no hidden extra charges or fees. The charge for texting is half of that. There is no credit check or activation fee. You can easily add minutes online or buy them in a store and add them onto your phone directly. And as long as you add minutes before the cut off date your unused minutes will roll over. There is also a new way to add minutes by signing up on line with your billing information(once) and then buying and adding minutes right from your phone. I think that is very convenient altough I have not signed up for that yet. For the most part I am very happy with this phone service. The reception is great-everywhere-even when traveling to different states and even in the mountains. Try NET10 phone service-you won't be disappointed....
...

Living on a strict budget is not easy, but I still wanted some comforts. After doing some research when looking for cable providers I settled on DirecTV for two reasons. The first is because my parents were already subscribers and I could take advantage of discounts through them, which made it substantially more affordable, and the second was because I was familiar with them. Even with these attributes I would have gone with Dish Network if they installed satellites above the second floor in apartment buildings, but they don't and I live on the third floor, so they would not install in my building. I was incredibly disappointed, but decided to go with DirecTv because I have had a good experience in the past and they fit with my budget. After a year with them my price will almost double for monthly service, and I am at the most basic package they offer. I am probably going to go with whatever provider I can find the cheapest package with. So I guess they don't do a good job...
...

T-mobile was probably one of the lesser choices I have made over the years. First of all, they're sales representatives will try to sell you EVERYTHING, including this horrible 2 year contract. The phones the give you for accepting this contract are probably the most glitchy, easy to break phones they make. And they don't replace them unless you buy insurance, which is really costly. Just your basic phone & plan is going to run you upwards of $70.00. And forget about saving any of your unused minutes, they keep those at the end of the month, not you. Sure, the mobile to moblie is fine and the my five works ot okay, but compareably, other companies will offer you more for a lot less. And if you decide you want to "break up" they charge you over $200.00 for a "cancellation fee". Seriously, who can afford that? T-mobile is for people who don't mind throwing money away, and are looking for that name-brand, if you can really give it the respect at least.
...

Whenever i have a problem i call 611 from my cell phone and i get to speak to a live representative right away. yes i have had problems with att service but i must say when i spoke to att's customer service department they solved my problem in a timely manner. I remember i think it was like 3 years ago i had a family plan with 1400 anytime minutes, nights statring at 7pm-7am, free nights and weekends and free mobile to mobile. some how it was a computer mistake they were charging me for nights starting at 9pm instead of 7pm. so i was being overcharged. when i called att's customer service about my bill being to high they noticed that they had my nights starting at 9pm instead of 7pm. The representative was kind, polite and resolved my problem to my satisfaction. She gave me 5000 roll over minutes and a $500 credit on my bill.
...

tiggerlas says "Dish Network reasonable pricing and decent Quality" about Dish network

We recently switched from DirectTV to Dish Network because of Pricing. Overall The two are similar in packages, but Dish Network pricing is more in line with the common man. The picture is clear and of a decent quality. We do not have HD. The variety of channels is decent, but I have little use for Sirrius Radio and find those channels to be more of a nusiance. Our plan gave us Cinemax for 1 Cent for a year, but thus far the movies on it are pretty poorly rated by viewers. So skip getting Cinemax if you have to pay more.

Some of the cons to Dish Network is the guide. It is pretty bland to look at and the remote is overly complicated. The book is also a bit of a nightmare in trying to find out how to resolve an issue. For example the receiver changed to single mode and it took 15 minutes to find that the fix was to push a button on the receiver to change back to dual mode. Once things are set up, it becomes second nature.

Verizon wireless doesnt have more choices on customer that can save more money or offering something better. The lowest they have is $39.99 which only 450 minutes a month which is not good since you cannot rollover those mintues. I do believe they are taking advantage those opportunity since they are the only one that company available in our area and their connection. You gonna have their service or you don't have at all wireless connection. I wish only they have simpack on their cellphone that you can use it somewhere or give it to anybody if I don't need it anymore. In verizon you play on their rule, not much customer option. Last month I upgraded my phone plan to 900 minutes unfortunately the customer service did not inform me on how they billed it , then when the bill come I was so shock when it shows 79.99 the monthly subscription, which actually when they explain to me they billed in advance the two 59.99 and credit me bac the 39.99 my old plan , so stressing but finally figured...
...

Zero still means "Take me to your human.", right? So after 50 zillion tries, i finally get thru to a human (i think) and I ask for call records from 66 days ago. The "human" says, "That'll be 50 bucks please." I say, "Does that come with a bl*w j*b, coz this really sucks!" The human explains VM does not maintain calls more than 60 days. How do I download my calls each month?" He says, "Cut & paste, sir." I say, "You want me to copy & paste 85 pages of calls?" The human says he's going to see if there's a more grown-up way to achieve my goal, but I never found out what it is cox he either hung up or got whacked for attempting to help a customer. Either way, I never got a call back. I'm now actively looking to get rid of VM.
...

Unibonkers says "Thieves!" about Virgin Mobile

I enrolled both my mother and my husband in Virgin Mobile because both required very limited use of a cell phone. My elderly mother has since moved in with us, and my police officer husband had to quit the force because of brain cancer. I THEN discovered that Virgin Mobile had continuously automatically withdrawn funds from their checking accounts - Mom has a balance of $163, and my husband a balance of $215. I was told that Virgin Mobile doesn't give "refunds" - I don't consider it a REFUND to expect to be given my UNSPENT money back. I call that stealing. Instead, I was told that our only recourse is to use up the balances, and we would now be charged A HIGHER RATE PER MINUTE. What a crummy way of treating people. I will never use Virgin Mobile again and will warn others not to, either.
...

willmon21 says "If highspeed isn't available for you try Skyway USA." about Skyway USA

Well I have had the service for about a month now so I can only know so much. This internet service is mostly for those that don't have highspeed service in their area. But anyways it cost me 214 for the equipment and the first month service for the 768Kbps plan. Seemed like a fairly good price at the time as I looked into other providers and they usually have to have someone come out there and install it for you which would cost much more. The lowest monthly price is much cheaper than any other ISP provider I have found. It is easier for you to just install the dish yourself as you only have to pay for the equipment and first month of service with no install fees. How you aquire the signal is with their satellite beeper. It is actually fairly easy to use all you do is just have the cable coming from the modem screwed into the beeper and the other end plugged into the satellite LBN. They have a website that tells you the azimuth and elevation to have. The azimuth is the direction to point...
...

bpfeuffer says "Good Products with Mixed Results on Customer Service" about Comcast - Cable Company

Overall, we have had a favorable experience with Comcast, particularly on the most recent occassion when I went in to pay my bill. I talked to the representative about the upcoming promotional roll-off (our 12 months was up) and he gave us a better offer than one we had for the past 12 months...from $75/month for DSL and cable to $50/month for the two (now our DSL speed went from 8 to 6, but we haven't noticed a difference)

On the other hand, we had issues with our modem and the first customer service representative I talked to told me it was an issue with our computer and I needed to get a new one, because their modem checked out fine. I knew that was not the case, so I called back the next day and talked to a different representative that said the modem could be bad and I needed to take it in for replacement. Which was the problem.

Our cable service has been outstanding, and the only issue with our internet was solved, however, I was extremely frustrated by a customer service representative...
...
