avarmaavarma says "failed to deliver and dismal customer service " about Snapfish

Placed a calendar order 3 weeks ago - and it was confirmed by snapfish. Anytime I checked the status of the order, it showed up as under processing and gave an estimated ship date. One fine day, I receive an email saying my order was lost and they would be issuing a refund. The three weeks I lost were precious since the calendar was meant as a gift for someone. They had absolutely NO customer service in terms of any explanation - except that they lost the order - and would be willing to offer me a 20% discount on my next order.

PeterGlickman says "Clumsy Interface, Unethical, Poor Customer Service - AVOID!" about Kodak Easy Share Gallery

I used the clumsy and cumbersome but functional free Kodakgallery service for a couple of years without a major problem, until they arbitrarily changed their storage policy to require periodic purchases of photos to keep your pictures. They gave me a 2 month deadline to make a purchase, otherwise my photos would be deleted. I protested, arguing that I did not wish to purchase photos and that it was not fair to simply change the terms of their sevice like that. They ignored my protests and deleted my photos anyway. I believe this was unethical and perhaps illegal, but it is such a small matter its not worth pursuing.

Because of this negative experience I DO NOT recommend this service. Moreover, personally I will never buy or recommend ANY Kodak products again. There are certainly more ethical vendors out there.
...

Okay, I can't think of one bad thing to say about Picasa - I love it. First off, it's free. As soon as you load pictures from your camera onto your computer, it starts organizing them into a folder. Once you go into Picasa, it's so easy to organize your photos. Then you can email them, download them to a website to be printed, do whatever you want.

I still can't believe they haven't charged money for this service - it's amazing. If you haven't tried it out yet, I highly recommend you do. You'll love it!!!
...

saw a special advertised on dealnews.com, shop there all the time so decided to try out artscow.com because they had an awesome deal on 8x10" canvas prints. placed my order, they charged my credit card immediately.(which is a bit odd, most wait till they ship your items) i recieved an e-mail two days later stating that they had shipped the order but the date of shipping showed the following day. (i don't know how you can state you shipped something at a certain time when that time has not even occurred yet.) i assumed this was a typo... the e-mail also stated that i would receive my order in 8-12 business days, which to me seemed a bit strange as the company information i read said they were in TX and it's only two states away. i patiently waited... and waited and waited... and 12+ days later... NOTHING.

well come to find out this company is in hong kong, which explains the shipping time... and i guess the mismatched dates on the e-mail but still doesn't explain why i haven't received...
...

I placed my order 3 weeks ago and it is still "Processing". Don't ever expect to see your order! I spent 2 hours designing the book, waited 3 weeks for the order to process, was given the run around from customer service and denied contact with anyone at a higher level than the guy that answered the phone. When I cancelled my order I was told it would take 30 days for my refund. So, that is 2 hours to create the project, 3 weeks of my order never processing and 30 days to (hopefully) receive my refund! I wish I would have read the reviews on this site earlier.....

Save yourself a load of time and stress and use Snapfish, I never had a problem with them!

I like to have an avatar for every mood. For pictures for reviews, I do use Google Image Search to make it easier on me there. However, I don't like downloading pictures randomly off sites, or peoples' flickr accounts or from their blogs or wherever else I may come across them. Even if someone took out their $50 digital camera and shot it through the windshield, I do not feel right using other peoples' images without their consent and referencing their origin somehow.

I worked in the marketing department for a major fitness equipment manufacturer, and it was there that I learned about stock photography images. Professional photographers use their skills and talent with the express purpose of sale and widespread distribution. They sell the rights to their images to companies that then sell them. Usually you are allowed to alter the image or only use just a piece if you wish. Some images are on a royalty basis - if you purchase the image, you need to pay the company a fee or "royalty" for...
...

One of the best experiences of my life was at Vavoom Pinups!!!!! The staff is so wonderful, and my best friend and I had the most memorable day (and night!) of our lives. This is something that we will never forget, and to top it off, we have hot pics to look at when we are old and grey! The pictures I ordered were so incredible, they have amazing colors and finish to them. I nearly died when I opened the envelope! I highly recommend this, Heather was as sweet as could be, and an amazing photographer! I was so nervous before I got there, but she made us feel very comfortable, like beauty queens! I am definitely doing this again. We are going to try to make it a yearly thing with the girls.

I've been taking photos with a Canon digital camera this year, and decided to put together a photobook for some family living abroad. When I received a coupon to try Shutterfly.com's services at a discount, I decided I'd check them out to see what was on offer. I found that the website is easy to navigate - items are clearly described, and prices are upfront. In creating an 8x8 photobook on the site, I was surprised by the number of options they offer for presets - layouts, photo edges, backgrounds, and styles. They offer a couple of options for building projects, like photobooks and gift items; I appreciate having the option to use proprietary software or standard website-only features. Whereas some other photo product-oriented sites have been tough to navigate, or difficult to find pricing or descriptions on, Shutterfly exceeded my expectations. Shipping prices are reasonable, and the check-out process was easy to use and understand.
...

I have to agree about being totally dissatisfied with snapfish. I recently ordered my wedding pictures from snapfish and opted for their digital 3.5x5 inch print size, as they clearly state that 4x6 inches will cut off the tops and bottoms of the pictures. When we got the first (300+) pictures they were in 4x6 inch print size and had people's heads cut off- figuring it was our mistake we re-ordered careful to click the digital print size this time. We got the photos and again, they were the incorrect size. we called customer service and the lady was very friendly and stated that she would refund our money for the first two orders and that they would ship the new pictures ASAP in the correct size, and that she'll put the order through herself. After a week of no pictures we called today and were told that our order was canceled. When we asked why they said that there was confusion regarding the order so they canceled it. They did not have a reason for not contacting us to tell us the...
...

I have used Kodak Gallery extensively over the past 5 years for a repository and distribution method of journaling more than 10,000 travel photos. Prior to a couple of years ago it worked great for me, both at the uploading and the distribution end. But with a cut-over a couple of years ago to an all Adobe Flash slide-show facility, this pretty much killed the usability of it for me and particularly on the viewer end of things. From the performance side, my viewing audience took a hit with the new Adobe Flash slide-show requiring a full initial download of the entire album in order to present it. At the higher resolution of today's digital cameras and with a major portion of my audience still on dial-up or with older hardware, I immediately lost all of that section of my audience. Then with the elimination of captions in normal HTML at the bottom of the photo, on the new Flash slide-show a single line of the caption was all that was displayed. To view the entire caption, one had...
...

jdt2912 says "Great place for large photo prints and frames." about imagekind.com

I have been an avid amateur photographer for years -- I use the compact Lumix DMC-LX1 (the one with the Leica lens) to carry around with me, and I lug my big, powerful Nikon D200 around for when I am trying to take serious shots.

Like many folks, I have mastered the art of taking decent digital pictures and sharing them online using sites like Flickr. The real issue has always been what to do and where to go when I want to get something blown up big and framed because the cost can be so high. There are a lot of sites out there that will print and frame your photos when you upload them, but I recently started using a site called imagekind.com because they let you print on canvas.

Printing on canvas may not be better than printing on photographic paper, but it gives your work more of an art museum style and the cost is lower because there is no glass involved in the framing. And the best thing is that when you sign up on imagekind you get regular online coupons sent to your email, and I have...
...

I have been using Artscow for my photobooks as they have flexiblility for photo and text layouts. In fact I have recommended several new customers for them! However throughout the months I have been using their service, I have had to log several complaints directly with the company. Each time, the "fault" was supposed to be mine!!!! The photos and texts were cut off, even though the previews looked good. They charged foreign exchange fees even though the charges are supposed to be in US currencies! There is no "escape route" when you are placing the order, even when you know at the time of ordering, a mistake is being made, you cannot cancel the order, and HAVE TO PAY FOR YOUR MISTAKE!. Since their so-call customer service hours are restricted, you can never get through, and even when you do, you don't get any "customer service". Their promotions and advertisements are very deceptive and intentionally misleading - as they will charge you for their DECEPTIONS. BEWARE!!!!...
...

Snapfish.com is a good site they have many options as to how you print your photos. You can get photos on mugs, t-shirts, and yopu can peersonlize cards or invintations. They have reasonable prices, however i have found other sites that are a bit cheaper, but you get what you pay for, And that's why I have gone with snapfish.com. Also snapfish.com sends your pictures out immediately so you get them in less than a week which is better than other companies, another company, which i will leave nameless, took over fourteen days to get my pictures to me, and over half of the pictures were blurry. This is why I go to snapfish they are trust worthy, and i am confident that when i get my photos they will have been worked on deligently. Snapfish is starting to get more and more popular and i believe everyone should start doing their to order their pictures instead of walmart or even walgreens. I recommend snapfish to any one who loves photos!
...

All of my family and friends enjoys all the birthday cards and photo-books that I create for them. I think that photo-books are a very great investment because in order for someone to take your pictures they have to take the whole book and that wouldn't be easy to get past me.

Snapfish is one of the greatest things I have discovered on the Internet! It is such an easy website to use to share or print pictures. They can ship your pictures right to your home or you can pick them up at select stores. Each picture to print costs 9 cents, which is 6 cents cheaper than Wal-mart or other photo places. I have found it to be the best deal and the most convenient. The pictures turn out great too! However, if you save pictures from Facebook and print them, sometimes they do not come out perfectly. If you use pictures from your camera though, they come out awesome! I've never had any major issues with this though. If you don't take photos from Facebook, you shouldn't have an issue. Snapfish provides fast shipping and many gift options such as mugs, posters, calendars, etc. I would highly recommend this site to anyone looking for an easy to use and inexpensive way to print and share your pictures!
...

The Kodak Gallery Easyshare site itself is fine & so are the products, but they require a purchase every 12 month (4.99 if you have less that 2gb & 19.99 if you have more than 2gb of pictures). Shutterfly has just as many products & they are great quailty as well & they NEVER delete your pictures or require a purchase. Google allows you to store pics for free as well & use your choice of retailers/websites to print them.
