As we all know Global Warming continues to be an issue in the enviroment because Global Warming kills off our precious primates, the monkeys and others by damaging their trees and food supply so the primates are slowly dying off and will soon be extinct if we dont start taking action to preserve our earth.Another important thing to remeber is the melting of the glaciers. When this happens our preciouse Polar Bears have to swim longer and harder so they drown often with their little ones because of all the stress and strain when all they are trying to do is look for food for survival.Someday the earth may be under water because the Glacies are melting an accelerated rate.Imagine what it would be like to starve to death because of other peoples wrecklessness right here in on our beautiful earth. What if we woke up one day and were under water!Carbon Dioxide is the number on cause of global warming and we can prevent this by buying cars that dont emmit high levels of carbon disoxide. We can carpool,wear...
...

williampinn says "Children of the Corn! Thank God For the Ignore Button!" about The Science Forum

While I was doing research for a science article I was writing, I surfed the web and landed on the beach of thescienceforum.com. The posts I read were helpful and I decided to join the site to check it out further.

The site's graphics are somewhat stoic and while navigating the site I had trouble finding links to get where I wanted to go, but for the most part, I was able to read articles, leave comments and post a couple of articles.

The community...eh hem...how can I put this delicately? Have you seen the movie "Children of the Corn"? Or how about "Animal House"? Don't get me wrong there are some decent folks there at The Science Forum, including the owner of the site whom I had a pleasant chat with when I was making a complaint against an extremely rude moderator.

Can trolls be moderators? Apparently they can. It was my hope that this was a community where other members and I could carry out deep and meaningful (and courteous!) discussions and debates about various science topics....
...

mmears says "loons and eagles are ready for their closeups, Mr. DeMille" about eagle and loon live cams

Bookmark this site now:

http://www.briloon.org/watching-wildlife/

I discovered the eagle cam - set up in coastal Maine - last spring and spend every possible moment watching the nesting, incubating, and finally when chicks were hatched, feeding. Then the thrill of watching the eaglets learning to fly... they'd boldly go to edge of nest, flap wings, then retreat. One fell to a lower branch and flew back up within an hour. Even after they 'left', they'd come back to the nest and mama and papa would feed them. This went well into July. My friends grew weary of my endless babbling about "my babies". They will feel a part of your family, too. Hard to spend hours watching the loons/eagles without getting so attached

Sadly this year the terrible spring storm destroyed the eagle eggs, and the cam keeper thinks possibilities are slim for another pair to mate/nest there at this late date. But I still keep checking.

Meanwhile, not far away, a loon cam is set up. I've seen no action...
...
