I decided to give Microsoft's Live Search engine a try when I learned that, if you allow Microsoft to tie your search results to a username, they will reward you with either cash or tickets that can be redeemed for merchandise or airline miles. — — So far, the free airline miles for searching and the associated games site have been the best thing about using Live Search. The engine seems considerably less intuitive than Google, although this may be a result of my frequent use of the latter service rather than a flaw inherent in Microsoft's product. — — Bottom line: I can often find what I need more quickly with Google, but Live Search...

Google is by far the best search engine around, and can also make you a lot of money using their adsense and adwords marketing programs. — We sell e-books online using google and we're now making more income than we'd ever dreamed of. — I can find anything I can think of quickly and easily using google and highly recommend using this engine. Google is, after all, one of the most successful companies in history for a reason. — ...

Google provides solid products (or sometimes just "as to be expected" products when they are in beta) to the Internet community, usually at no cost. Who foots the bill? Large corporations, medium businesses, and small businesses all competing for your attention. Yet sometimes Google will provide a product that offers much good, yet has no dicernable way of making them any money. They do it anyway, and that is what makes them great. They are obsessed with information, in any capacity, and as long as they stick with the noble mission of making information accessible to all, this company will fly for decades! — ...

elvisdo says "Searching through Winzy won me a few Amazon Gift Cards" about WINZY

The plethora of search engines available on the World Wide Web is astounding. I would have to say that Google by far is the most popular one to use with perhaps Yahoo and MSN following suit. But have you ever heard of Winzy? Neither did I until my wife discovered it. — — Winzy is a search engine where you can win free prizes. You heard me correctly. There is always a chance to win a prize just by making a search. I thought it was too good to be true until I won a few $5 Amazon gift certificates just for using the search engine. — — There are three basic ways to win free prizes: — — 1) Search and Win Instantly — It’s really simple. By searching through Winzy, the chances of winning are always there. I’ve been finding out lately that you really have two chances a day to win prizes. Either a slot machine or a winning wheel will pop up allowing you a chance to see what prize you will win. It ranges from points (10-500 points), gift...

Tigger123 says "Great search engine but sponsored advertising questionable." about Google

Google is great. You can search for anything and everything. It's fast and easy and great for research for school. You can look up anything you want or need. Search for online shopping sites, lookup information on any school topic, search for recipes, photos, etc. It's the best search engine I've seen. The only fault I see with Google is all of the advertising. You have to ask yourself if the sponsored ads can really be trusted. For example, let's say you're looking for a free anti-virus program. Tons of ads come up on the side saying they'll remove spyware, viruses etc. Then, if you just install one of them you could end up actually adding spyware or viruses to your computer. You can even search through Google some of their sponsors for things like anti-virus programs and anti-spyware and it brings up several search results about how the programs are not safe and can actually infect your computer. So even though Google is a great search engine, you still have to be careful about...

Everyday, we run into problems that we need a guide or a solution too. You can go ask your neighbor, friends, and just about anybody on there opinion on how to solve the problem but their is probably not one source on the net that you can get instant access too without all the hassle. And that is Google, the #1 site in the world. Without its easy and simple interface, you can find anything you need from websites, questions, images, and so much more all at your finger-tips. Not to mention all its services it offers like free e-mail, blogging platform, entertainment and news - its a all-in-one package that fits anyway you put it. — — And mentioning pros and cons, I think that there is no negative results you can get from this near-perfect service. But mentioning cons, there may be a slight and few threads in searches that may be must-leading. As I've seen and read so far, Google has eliminated just that. So all I can say about this service is that is free, great, quick,...

GoodSearch is phenomenal! You choose the charity you want to support from thousands of participating organizations (schools, churches, animal welfare, and troop support to name a few). — Personally, I GoodSearch for AnySoldier.com, because I have had wonderful experiences with that organization. My son was in the Marines for 3 years, and I love the way AnySoldier lets me send care packages directly to specific deployed units, based upon their requests. — But, back to GoodSearch...it's a search engine that's powered by Yahoo! and I have it set as my default search engine on all of my computers. Each time I perform a search, a penny (or more) goes to my charity. GoodSearch also has a GoodShopping option, where merchants donate a percentage of my purchases to my selected charity. That was a bonus during the holidays. If you've got to search for something online, give GoodSearch a try! It's easy, and you are supporting the non-profit organization of your own choosing. —...
