bboop3800 says "Food Network is the best place for gourmet, made-from-scratch!" about Food Network

Food Network is the first place I go when I'm looking for a new dinner or dessert recipe. I found this to be the best place for made-from-scratch cooking that ranges from easy to hard. Depending on the amount of time and skill you have, you can create everything from easy appetizers to full-blown meals.

I like being able to read reviews on each recipe from people who have already tried it. I find this very helpful. You can also access the Food Network store and shop for great products like cookware and cook's tools.

Another great feature are all the special tips and recipe collections the website puts up during the holidays. From the traditional to the new and unqiue, it's a one-stop shop for memorable holiday meals.

Other terrific features include many filtering tools so that you sort through the recipes and show only things relevant to your search. You can sort by rating (what I like to do) and relevance. Each recipe also shows the skill level like beginner or intermediate...
...

Cooker says "Horrible Customer Service - Will Never Return" about Williams-Sonoma

I have shopped at Williams Sonoma for years. Today I went in to pick up a bottle of "speciality" maple syrup for Thanksgiving and was treated so rudely that I'll never shop there again. There were more sales people in the store than customers, not busy at all. When the cashier called me over to ring up my order, a pushy salesgirl appeared from off to the side and said "No, my customer is first!". She snapped at me and pushed my purchase aside! Her customer was purchasing cookware so I guess my single bottle of syrup was insignificant. I was dumbfounded. In hindsight, I should have called the manager but I walked out. Needless to say, I will be writing the company CEO. Oh, and by the way, the bottle of syrup was $8 more than what it would cost me to buy online (free shipping). I'll be buying directly from the manufacturer now on and bypassing Williams Sonoma altogether for any future purchases or gifts.
...

I would recomend this show for any food lover, or anybody wanting new and old recipes. I personally watch this network for pure entertainment. Its one of those tv sations that never gets old because there is a consant of new episodes, as well as people. Ive watched this station for over 8 years and will contuie for the rest of my life.

This channel is alsome for so many reasons, holiday speacials, new recipes and so much more. This is a channel that been on air for a while now, and for those who dont know about it, should at least give it a try, you would not regrete it. Some of my favorite shows are Alton Browns "Good Eats", so entertaining as well as inforing, he really puts the science in ordinary foods and makes them masterful. Ive learned so much from this network, that it really changed my life, ive become a way better cook and now have another hobby, cooking! which is my favorite hobby. This network is so good that even after a meal, and im not hungry I can still watch and enjoy...
...

AngiBowman says "Best Supply of Recipes, Photography and Humor on the Internet! " about The Pioneer Woman

Beware: The Pioneer Woman website should be looked at with caution. It often turns into the Bermuda Triangle of websites, where you lose track of time and end up gaining 20 pounds without having to eat a thing. Sad - but true.

In reality, I love Pioneer Woman. She's the best friend you always wanted and the Big Sister who never lets you down. Between the recipes, the photos, the give aways - everyone can find something in Ree Drummond!

What is It?

Pioneer Woman is a tale of a truly desperate housewife who found herself going from busy LA to laid-back Oklahoma, where she fell in love with a local rancher. Her story is endearing and recipe collection overwhelming. Whether you want to learn about life in the middle of nowhere Oklahoma or want to drool over a trove of recipes (with step-by-step pictures), you're in for a treat.

What Do I Like?

I can't say enough how much I enjoy this website! She's real (after all, she has four kids!), she homeschools, she's the envy of most photographers,...
...

The Food Network is the best entertainment on television. Who knew that watching people cook and travle could be so much fun?

Guy Fieri has a show called Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. He has taken us many places and I have learned of so many great places to dine even in my general area.

Bobby Flay is the grill master extraordaire! I have watched him create the most incredible dishes on Throwdown With Bobby Flay. He may lose but he may win. Howevewr it goes, we learn different methods of preparing the same dish.

I can't leave out Paula Dean, The Butter Queen, on Paula's Home Cooking. Paula invites us into her home and prepares those Southern dishes. She shows everyone they can prepare fun dishes and be entertaining.

Iron Chef America is a hub of activity based upon the Japanese cult sensation in the Kitchen Stadium with the "secret ingredient." Each week, world-class chefs battle the legendary Iron Chefs of America: Bobby Flay, Mario Batali, Masaharu Morimoto, Cat Cora and Michael Symon....
...

I have had such a terrible experience dealing with Williams Sonoma over the past few weeks. So, two weeks ago I went to the store at Columbus Circle in New York City to buy a Soda Club Penguin for over $200. The particular product was not in stock in the store so the assistant tried to buy it online with my credit card and have it shipped to my home address. Anyway, this didn't work so another assistant called the other Williams Sonoma store on the east side and they had the product in stock. It was delivered, free of charge, to my home and I was very happy...that is until two days later I received a fedex from Williams Sonoma of ANOTHER Soda Club Penguin. I checked my bank statement to see if I had been charged for this second delivery and was shocked to see that not only was I charged for this extra product, but I had been charged an additional FOUR times for this, ie. over $850 on my credit card that I had not authorized. I called customer service immediately and I was very rudely treated,...
...

I bought a Sealy Posturepedic mattress from US Mattress. It was an online order. The actual name of the mattress is Sealy Posturepedic Settlers Way Plush Euro Pillow Top. It is the best mattress that I have ever had. It feels like your lying on a bed of plush cotton, like you're on a cloud. When you get out of the bed, you don't even disturb your spouse. Not only is the super comfortable, the outside fabric is very nice. It is a light cream color with beautiful designs on it. It doesn't look like the average mattress that looks like you got it from a convenient store. It looks as elegant as it is comfortable. I sleep through the night now, it's easy to fall asleep now, and I don't wake up to back aches anymore. It's a great buy. It's worth every penny. This is a great home furnishing. This is good for children and adults. It's a good home investment. US Mattress offers a large selection of mattresses and you are able to view them online and compare. If you are in need of a better mattress,...
...

Since I work outside the home and keep fairly busy, my schedule doesn't leave a lot of room for being Susie Homemaker. I am also a bit of a procrastinator (OK, a HUGE procrastinator) and I really don't enjoy cleaning. Organization??? Not my strong suit. Never fear, the FlyLady is here!!!

I found the FlyLady's website (flylady.net) by chance. Joining the site is free, so you have nothing to lose by signing up. A word of caution...if you sign up for the daily emails, brace yourself for a barrage...I get at least 4 emails a day with testimonials, sales pitches for their handy-dandy products, and reminders to do little things around my house. That I can do without.

The FlyLady website is great! Navigation is fairly simple, and the graphics, while a little too cutesy, are bright and colorful. The site is organized into a few different topics: "Getting Started" helps you understand the philosophy behind FlyLady's system and helps you get into a routine of keeping yourself...
...

Yes. I find much of it helpful and practical. I get great ideas and tips from the cooks. And I enjoy the travel features that help me seek out restaurants and foodie type stores when we are traveling. But I don't care for all the challenges and "reality" type shows. It gets to be a bit too much, see ing the cowboy cookoff, and the cake decorating contest, and the next food star type of shows. I'm seeing there a contrived challenge that doesn't really affect my cooking. Truthfully, I like having episodes such as Paula Deen, Rachel Ray, Sandra Lee, etc. where I get great tips. I also love Diners, Drive ins, and Dives. It's well done and leaves me hungering to jump into the car and seek out these delicious places. Other shows that we enjoy are Alton Brown, and the science-why guy (can't remember his name). Both of them give some of the chemistry behind food, and are factual and interesting. So yes, we love Food Network, but would like to see...
...

For the would-be DIYer there are few opportunities to save more money than making your own repairs to the appliances you own.

I know, it sounds daunting at first. But I assure you it really isn't that difficult. Even for most of us who look at their appliances as "black boxes", a little patience, a little reading and repairclinic.com is all you'll need. Oh, and the reading part? You can do that at repairclinic.com. You're feeling better already, aren't you?

I'm sure many of us have had a repairman out to the house to repair on appliance or another. It seems, especially with newer appliances, that this is a more frequent occurance. After looking at the appliance and doing a few diagnostics, he pronounces your appliance repairable, and for $500 he can have it back in working order in just a few days.

Of course your eyes bug out of your head and you can feel your blood pressure rising since the appliance is just 4 years old and cost you $1000.

There needs to be more practical shows like Paula Deen, Alton Brown and the Neely's . They make real world type foods that women are interested in after work. Far Too much Iron Chef especially in the evening hours when you just want something practical to cook. I love cooking shows, but Food Network is all about celebrity personality. I used to think Rachael Ray was the worst with her lame made-up words and neurotic tendency to laugh after everything she says, but I can actually sit through one of her shows and, yes, I have picked up a few quick-cooking tips (but rarely ever a whole recipe....she's too expensive). Now I would have to rate Paula Deen as the biggest FN loser. I recently saw her on Iron Chef (brief check-in) and she acted like a complete ***! And she was making chocolate truffles out of processed cheese--disgusting! Her sons are flat, brainless losers and I hate it when she brings her fat husband on her show to taste stuff--gross! Can't sit through one of her shows because...
...

A few days ago I reviewed BettyCrocker.com especially its "Healthy Solutions" and Healthified recipes. I still like that site but am even more impressed with what I have found at KraftFoods.com, which also boasts a great "Healthy Living" section. Not only are there great recipes, menus, and sensible solutions or more nutritious options but there is also a special section for Healthy Living Tools which include calculators for use in estimating Body Mass Index, Calorie Burn and Healthy Weight, Calcium Counters along with those for Fiber and Carbs, a Food Analyzer and a series of Exercise Demos.

The Diabetes Center here isn't just an extra thing thrown in for good measure but a richly varied universe of support, suggestions, advice, and delicious recipes for diabetics and their families.

Add in the section for articles about health-related topics in general and there is something here for almost everyone who is trying to do the right thing for his or her physical and mental well-being....
...

BusyChic says "Eversave is ok...." about Eversave

The problem I have is that every few days I checked my email and there is anywhere from 4-10 emails from Eversave to apply for Pheonix Online College etc. Also, to get a lot of the coupons you have to take surveys and give your phone number and home address. Once per month do you get an email with about 30-50 coupons that you could print and some are great for groceries, some are for discounted admission to places and what not. I was specifically looking for grocery coupons and found 3 I could use and there were several more for other grocery items but I choose based on my grocery list. There are minimal coupons available and I am about to put Eversave as spam in my inbox, the coupons they do have are the same ones I get from coupons.com and actually coupons.com has more.

So in short, my opinion is that Eversave is one big advertisement (more ads than coupons) for a variety of places and that wasn't what I was looking for from a coupon site. I expected some advertising but...
...

hello101 says "My #1 Place For Recipes" about Kraftfoods.com

Growing up dinner has always been a time to sit down, eat a good meal and catch up with how everyone's day was. I am the youngest of three and once my other two siblings moved out my mom sorta got sick of cooking, despite the fact that my dad and I were still there. So one day I just decided to take matters into my own hands and I stumbled upon kraftfoods.com. Boy am I glad I did.

They have a very easy website to navigate through and you can easily find what you're looking for. If I want a new chicken recipe I just type in chicken and I'm given hundreds of dinner ideas with pictures, ratings from other people, helpful tips and even side dish suggestions. Another thing I like about kraftfoods is that you can find a really simple recipe for nights that you don't have much time to cook, but then they also have more time consuming ones that are worth the time.

A lot of their recipes call for their dressings and marinades which I don't mind since I use a lot of their recipes so the dressings...
...

vivasuzi says "KraftFoods makes dinner Quick and Easy!!" about Kraftfoods.com

I like to cook, and while I like to try complicated recipes once in awhile, I'm all about QUICK and EASY 95% of the time. Especially when I'm having people over because the last thing I want to do is try to clean the house AND cook a difficult meal.

KraftFoods.com is the ultimate website for these QUICK and EASY recipes! How do they do it? Well this is how - they show you how to make hundreds of dishes using Kraft products! You wouldn't believe all the things you can do with Velveeta, or Philadelphia Cream Cheese, or Jell-o Pudding. Most recipes I try from there only need 4-7 ingredients! How easy is that? And since they are all Kraft products, the ingredients are real easy to find in the store and most you probably already know which isle to find them in.

Attached are some photos of recipes I made today. To demonstrate how quick and easy they were, consider this: I looked up these recipes at noon, went to the store, and had them made up before my...
...

Maburn says "MyRecipes has the best recipes on the Web!" about MyRecipes.com

I love this site! MyRecipes has the best recipe collection on the Web. The get their recipes from my favorite magazines and books (Cooking Light, Southern Living, Real Simple, Coastal Living, Williams Sonoma, All You, Sunset magazine...).

Many of the recipes have a cost per serving, so meal planning is always a snap. Also, I use their "One List, Five Meals" shopping list every week.

They also have a quick, healthy Dinner Tonight recipe every day. And each has a video showing how to prepare it.

The recipes always work great and other site visitors have included their ratings and notes for how they modified the recipe for their family.

MyRecipes is my daily go-to site, and there's something new there every day.
...
