The previous reviews of iHerb seem out-of-date, out-of-touch.

Iherb used to be great -- the best. They WERE my favorite online store for supplements. Not any more. (Are they under new ownership?)

Customer service is practically non-existent now and shipping is UNBELIEVABLY slow. By most recent reviews on the web, there is a 2 - 3 week delivery time for shipping. My order took 20 days!! from date of ordering to my front door... however my credit card was charged one day after placing my order.

Not good.

Mopsa says "Real Age online newsletter gives quick tips" about RealAge

Real Age online newsletter is extremely helpful to people who are health conscious. The feature I like best is the quick health tips. Just click and you get the tip right quick. However if you want an in depth analysis as to why the tip is true there is an article with full explanations and definitions. The article also directs you to other sites for additional information concerning the tips. Each issue of the Real Age online newsletter has 3 main tips. Most of the tips are simple things you can do to improve some aspect of your health. Some of the tips include physical exercises that a are quick and easy. Some of the tips give you simple recipes or food choices that will improve or prevent a health issue. I keep all of my Real Age online newsletter s so I can refer back to them form time to time. The most recent one has an article of such interest to me I keep right in my email inbox. This is a great little newsletter and it is free.
...

tholgate87 says "Reminds me to get up every once & awhile" about Break Pal

I was recently given the chance to try out Break Pal, a program that encourages fitness and mental wellness throughout your work day. Break Pal is a widget that is downloaded onto your desktop (works with both PC & Mac) and reminds you to exercise throughout the day. When you get a reminder, you'll also get a 3 minute workout to do. Some of the exercises can be done right in your chair, while others require you to stand, but only use a small amount of space.

I know that blogging and going to school requires me to sit - a lot. I often end up with back pain and Break Pal has helped me sneak in quick workouts throughout my day which helps me stretch my back and keep it from straining. I think that using Break Pal in an office as a workplace health program would be an easy way to get people involved and keep them healthy. I know that Break Pal has also kept me mentally sane since sometimes I lose track of time when sitting in front of my computer, especially on the weekends.

I love Break Pal....
...

kdekaff says "Great for just about anything health related" about WebMd

I love this site! It is so helpful for a variety of uses and is easy to use. I can't stand websites that are not appealing to look at or are confusing to use, but this one is neither. In fact, it is the opposite. I use it often to look up symptoms with the symptom checker. Mostly I use it for my nutrition plan. I have been on a health kick lately and I'm eating right and losing weight thanks to this site. I have the website saved to my favorites so I can easily look up calorie content of foods I eat each day. This has been the #1 thing that has helped me lose weight! It is so easy to keep track of your calories for the day. It even has many different brands of certain foods and their nutrition labels and it determines your protein, fiber, and carbohydrates ratios for all the foods you eat each day. If you can't find the specific food you're looking for, you can just add your own. You can also find out how many calories you burn doing various activities and exercises. Overall, a great site....
...

use coupon code TIF131 to save $5 off your first order. no minimum purchase!

I love this site! I was looking for deodorant w/ out aluminium and found Jason 70% organic deodorant. which works great and doesn't leave that caked on residue that regular aluminium based deodorants have.

I now find everything for my beauty needs at iherb. Everything that is so hard to find in local stores, I can now order on this site. My favorite brands are Aubrey Organics, and NOW, because they usually carry all natural and organic hair and skin products. NOW even has organic shea and cocoa butter!

Shipping is cheap and everything can be tracked when you log in to your account.
...

WARNING WARNING WARNING. The free trial of BromaCleanse is not free. I just reviewed my credit card statement and there was a $79.95 charge. I called customer service and was told that I should have cancelled my account within 12 days, nowhere on the site did I see that, so it is pretty well buried. They were unwilling to work with me and were rather rude so they are obviously not in business to maintain positive customer support. Beware, these guys are sneaky in their advertising and probably in their overall business practices as well.
...

As a retiree and a Senior Citizen, I am very fortunate that my former employer still picks up the tab for my prescription insurance plan. I have already written in glowing terms about my plan, Caremark CVS Mail Order Pharmacy. I am very concerned, however, by the plight of several of my acquaintances who have no prescription insurance plan at all. They are paying full (sometimes astronomical) prices and often going without medicine they need but cannot afford so I was interested to learn about Global Pharmacy Canada.

Since 2004, Global Pharmacy Canada has been filling 60,000 prescriptions a year, providing 15,000 customers in the United States a good deal and great savings via generic medications produced in India. Prescriptions from India? I wondered, but apparently many generic medicines we have been using already have come from India which is the largest producer of generic prescriptions in the world. One of the good things about global economy is that a company up in Canada...
...

This is a free website community that has everything one would be interested in for living a healthy lifestyle, whether you are already healthy or are looking to make a change to get more healthy. There are mesage boards, groups, games, calorie trackers, meal plans, recipes, health blogs and articles, daily journal for you to write in, exercise videos and exercise tips, and much more. This is a great place to get advice and network with people with similar interests. You can even find exercise partners in your city and find out about acitvities in your area. I highly recommend this site. It is nicely organized and easy to navigate. You earn virtual points by logging on and tracking your exercise, diet, and personal goals. You can redeem these points for virtual prizes, such as a "new wardrobe" or a "trophy."
...

Katrena says "WebAnatomy Web Site Has GREAT Study Tools for Anatomy!" about University of Minnesota WebAnatomy Web Site

I am quite impressed with the University of Minnesota's WebAnatomy web site. I remember the days when I had to take Anatomy and Physiology. It involved a HUGE amount of memorization, but I had an excellent instructor who actually made the class interesting. That could have been a horribly boring class.

I now teach classes online and am always on the look-out for interesting web sites to augment my students' learning. The University of Minnesota's WebAnatomy web site is great.

WebAnatomy offers several choices:

Self tests

Timed tests

Multiplayer games

Image bank

What I like about WebAnatomy:

It's easy to use. Just make a choice and click, and you're quickly into a game.

This site is nicely organized and uses fonts and color combinations that are eye friendly.

There are lots of choices. You can choose something simple like the basic major bones of the body (my 8-year-old just had a test on these bones in her class) or you can choose very specific areas that are more detailed. It also includes...

...

I first signed up for Quality Health for the samples. Don't count on that part. I never seem to receive what they said I qualified for and I seem to have always answered all the questions they have for me to get additional samples. Then right after I signed up on the site I was diagnosed BiPolar. The doctor that diagnosed me did not tell me what BiPolar was, what to do (other than than the meds he gave me), where to go from here or anything else. He did not even explain what kind of medication he was giving me.I was totally lost. Then I remembered the information I had seen on this site. It really gave me good information and a direction to go in.If you will use this site for the health information that it has you won't be disappointed. I was able to learn about BiPolar and learned what at to ask him at my next visit. They have great articles, quizzes, newsletters, symptom checkers, groups, a drug interaction site to list your medications, There is even a form they will send you to...
...

After trying many different diets and failing I was starting to get a little discouraged. Then, a couple years ago, when searching online for a new diet to try (right after New Year's, of course) I happened to read a great review about Sparkpeople.com. At first, I was a little skeptical about something that was supposedly so great, and worked so well, but at the same time was free? I knew people who had done well on weight watchers, but this sounded like a similar program, and was free! So, I decided I'd give it a try. Turns out, that was the best new year's resolution ever! The site is great. It is packed with food plans, a tracking system so you can track what you eat and how much you exercise, and tons of recipies and exercise videos you watch right on your computer. It is great for anyone whos just starting out or just needs to lose that last 10 lbs. Another great thing about the website is the community. You can create a personal page, and connect with other members,...
...

I learned about www.carepages.com when a friend got very sick. Her daughter started posting my friend's health, updates, surgery updates, etc. on this website. Readers can leave comments, offer prayers, hope and love. I get updates when either my friend or her daughter update the CarePage.

What is Care Page

A CarePages website is a customized, personal web page designed to help provide communication between family and friends during a health event. This can be something great like pregnancy and delivery or something bad like cancer or anything in between.

The CarePages website is created and updated by the patient or loved one of the patient, and it is used to build a support community around the patient. The CarePages website displays updates on the patient's condition, photos can be posted. In this case my friend's daughter posted one picture.

Web MD is really informative. I have marked the areas of interest and receive emails from them regularly. I also refer to it for other health questions. They are very clear on visiting your physician and not relying totally on this site. I have learned alot about migraines, their triggers, medications, and other helpful tips. I have also gathered several questions to ask my physician on my next visit. I have learned alot about perimenopause, it's symptoms, vitamins, minerals and other relief methods. I also have alot more to discuss with my gynocologist on my next visit. Fibromyalgia is a chronic disease I suffer with and have found helpful tips for dealing with it and recommended medications, etc. As a matter of fact, I asked my doctor about Cymbalta which was referred to on this site and am now taking it with great results. Mental illness such as depression, anxiety, panic attacks, bi-polar and agoraphobia are other problems I have and have found alot of information...
...

AnnaBanana says "An important source of information for a lot of people!" about Drugs

It is not only inspiring but a little dismaying as well to learn that there are over 24,000 prescriptions and over-the-counter medicines which have been developed to keep us well. Alas, that the human race needs that much medication to keep going BUT fortunately for us, someone has loaded a lot of research and effort into creating Drugs.com, a website which provides information both for patients and their physicians about those 24,000 medicines and more. Included in Drugs.com is information from these sources for ordinary people (patients) like you and me:

MedFacts Consumer Drug Information

Cerner Multum Consumer Drug Information

Physicians's Desk Reference for Consumers

Micromedex Consumer Information (Advanced)

Also included in the site is information for medical professionals (doctors):

FDA Professional Drug Information

A-Z Drug Facts (Facts & Comparisons)

Micromedex Carenotes

MY VIEWPOINT:

If you want to be a more informed patient -- or if you are just fascinated with medical sites...
...

trehahn says "Great Book! Great Website!" about Calorie King: Weight Loss Tools

When I went to a different doctor, I told him I wanted to get healthy and lose weight. I had no money, since I was unemployed and my health was so bad I couldn't work, so programs were not an option, unless they were free.

Since weight loss programs are not free, it was determined I'd be doing it all on my own. He orinally put me on 1800 calories a day, then went to 1500 and said if I wanted to speed it up shoot for 1200 a day. Calculating the calories is a problem, but not with the Calorie King!

They have small and large books, I keep the small book in my vehicles, and my parents house, to calculate while away from home. Many of the places you'll eat are in there, so finding a low calorie option is easy. It will fit in your pocket, the information in there is great, very helpful.

The website has even more than the books, it's very easy to navigate, though searches can sometimes lead you to more than one option from the same place, and best of all it's free. I think I only paid...
...
