Mycodex....well, it sounds pharmaceutical, and it sounds like it has alot of pharmaceutical grade stuff to cure what ails the pooch or the cat ( namely skin and coat distress) And I was in desperation to stop the endless licking, biting, scratching, oozing, scabbing, and hopefully avoid an expensive trip to the vets office for an even more expensive bottle of stuff that I couldn't hope to pronounce. Mind you, I had alread tried the tried and true remedies containing pine tar, and salycylic acid, and tea tree oil.....basically, we had run the gamut. So into the tub, one by one, three dogs got dragged and sudsed and rinsed (And I am a manaic about rinsing cleanly) By halfway through the second dog, I noted that my hands and forearms were really quite pink, but I was also sweating trying to keep a rather unhappy and foamy German Shepherd from departing the tub prematurely. But into the third and final dog-my skin actually felt warm where the...

My cat loves his Science Diet Original formula food. He turns his nose up at any other food I try to give him. I have tried mixing the other food in a little at a time and then increasing as recommended. Charlie will eat around the other food and then push it out of the bowl and tries to hide it under his mat. He is definitely a Science Diet Guy!! — —...

My family has 6 cats and when we lived in small house we had to start using this litter. Other litter just weren't cutting it. And my dad has tried everything. This stuff really works. It helps with odor control and is easy to clean. Tidy cat as a brand in general is really great as far as kitty litter is concerned. Though the price is steep. At walmart we pay almost $9.00 for a pound container. But we still buy it so that should tell you how good it is. —...

One of the drawbacks of having more than one cat is the kitty litter. The Arm and Hammer Kitty Litter is the only brand that really clumps well and keeps the litter from getting too smelly. I paired it up with the Arm and Hammer Litter Deodorizer and we were smell free. Scooping was easy and the clumps did not break up into pieces as I scooped. Very good product, and reasonably priced. One drawback, the new spout was harder to use. It did not stay open and I had to pry open the flap as I poured, getting litter all over my hands and in my nails. I finally gave up and tore it...

Last month I became very worried about my buddy, friend, furry daughter, pal and cat, "Scrappy" who also happens to be the love of our lives. — She stopped eating and nothing was helping her change that, She was losing weight and getting a bony butt. I took her to the vet to find out what was going on and they were concerned about a hair ball getting stuck in her tummy. I was told it was time to treat her tummy so the hair ball would come out the back end instead of the front end and from there she was on Lax aire for the laxative angle and that was about it from the vet...She still wasn't feeling herself and I thought I would take her to PetSmart to see what they had to say. — I was talking to the head trainer there who knows Scrappy very well and I told her of our issues of hairballs and her not eating. Terri told me she had two cats and had the same issue. She brought us over to the cat food section and told me about Nutro Natural Choice...

The Petmate Fresh Flow Fountain rocks! Keeps the water aerated so the cats drink more water. This is especially advantageous for keeping male cats from getting the dreaded urinary tract problems that they can be prone to as they age. — The fountain does require routine cleaning (how often depends on how many cats are drinking out of it), but it is easy to clean - takes about 10 to 15 minutes including taking the water pump apart to clean. One filter lasts a month with just one cat - if you have more than one cat, you will have to change the filter more frequently. I have 10 cats so my filters only last about 2 weeks. But, I do recommend this product highly to all my fellow cat lovers! The health benefit of drinking more water is totally worth any cons this product has. — ...

Last month I started using Innova wet and dry cat food for my 2 rescued Maine Coon mixes (indoor only cats). I had stumbled upon the naturapet.com website and learned a lot about pet foods! I learned that it contains no fillers and only human-grade quality ingredients. By not using fillers, extra grains, and preservatives, cats and dogs are able to eat less to feel satisfied and are less likely to become over weight. With indoor cats, that's very important to me. — I have also read that the company that makes Innova and EVO pet foods (Natura) owns and runs the processing plants that make all of their dry pet foods. (They currently do not make their own canned foods but they are intensively involved in the process. I have heard rumors that Natura is working on building a factory to make their canned food themselves and avoid the middle man.) This means that since they...

While the LItter Locker is GREAT at sealing in odors from litter clumps, I'm concerned that there's a lot of waste going on...Once you have your clumps deposited, you twist the crank, and the waste is wrapped in plastic around itself into a ball, until the waste is entirely contained....It's just a lot of plastic. It seems they would have taken a hint from the Diaper Genie where the bag twists under and over the waste, creating little stinky sausages, while simultaneously containing odor...less plastic used, less mess, and less odor... — THe Litter Locker seemed like a good idea at first, but with three cats, I had to change out the stinkball every other day! Believe that! —...

lori9304 says "While not fragrance free, great clumping & the cats didn't mind" about Fresh Step Multiple Cats

This is, overall, a great cat litter. I'm all about natural foods and all, but I'm a bit less worried about using sub-par (health-wise) cat litter. I feel that if you clean the littler box well and often, your cats won't be breathing in litter fragrance all day long - they're in and out in 30 seconds to a minute. My cats never had a problem with Fresh Step litter - it clumps very well, so as long as you take care of that at least once a day, it'll be clean and smelling very nice. — I have two cats, so this multiple cat formula is perfect. I'm really not sure what the difference is between this and normal fresh step, but I buy it anyway... who knows, maybe there is a neutralizer in the formula so cats won't mind the scent of other cats. Either way, I've had no problems, besides trying to haul a 40 lb. box of it up my stairs. —...

Harmony Farms cat food, the kind in the purple bag, is fantastic. First, it's available at Stop & Shop, so I don't have to go to a remote shop to find a cat food with natural ingredients. Second, it's not too expensive. A big bag is 12.99 at my Stop & Shop; while it's a little pricer than Iams or Friskies, it's less expensive than most of the organic foods you see in specialty stores and your cats will be healthier. — Overall, a great product. The kitties love it, and I feel better knowing they're not eating who knows what in the main pet food brands. —...

After using Blue Buffalo's Wilderness Dry Food for dogs, it was only a matter of time before I tried it out with our cat crew. I am a big fan of high-protein, low-carb diets for felines and sometimes wish I could just hang out in the grocery store aisle one day to convert all of those people who feed their cats the cheap, gross stuff like Friskies and Purina. — Blue Buffalo Wilderness Dry Cat Food is a high-protein, low-carb product that contains no grains, by-products, or mystery meat. The company claims that it is an alternative to a raw diet because it is nutritionally balanced and doesn't require constant testing and tweaking. I tried to convert my three cats to a raw diet a few years ago and two of them flat out refused to eat raw meat. They like raw-based kibble like Innova EVO and Blue Buffalo Wilderness, though, so I am lucky in that respect. — All of the various cats and kittens that we have here enjoy Blue...

Good grief. I just washed my big old cat with Mycodex with carbaryl. To make matters worse, my kid helped me. He's a teen kid, but he will always be my kid. — The vet sold me this Mydocex with carbaryl when we had a flea problem a few years back. We don't have those problems much, or we would not still have this bottle of flea and tick shampoo for cats and dogs. — Today I got a flea on my leg. I am not an anal housekeeper, but show me a flea and I get my butt in gear. My boys really hate when that happens. We're usually very laid back unless I see a bug. Then I call out the troops - all two of my boys. — I sprayed and sprayed and extra sprayed to be sure and then deemed that Sugar would be having a bath. This is a major production, since Sugar is a 20 pound cat with even bigger opinions. — I must say Sugar is a good sport. When we first got him from the pound, I gave him a bath.
