KaciOhio says "Cute dogs.....You want mine???" about Dog Breed Shih Tzu

My pure Shih Tzu is a real pain in the.....side. lol His name is Tater Tot and I've had him for 2 years now. He's not a very hyper dog but is very territorial and tries to hump everything in site. They do not like having long hair in the summer because they get hot easily and it's best to keep them shaved or take them to the groomer if your dog is outside a lot in the summer. You have to brush them almost everyday to avoid hair clumping and ratting. We have to get ours sheered sometimes which is a very close haircut to the skin because his hair gets way to ratted to brush through. I've found that most of these dogs stink because of their hair on their face. My mother n law has 2 of these dogs, my aunt has 4, my brother n law has one and my cousin has the mother and father of my dog, they all stink! Well taken care of and groomed and still a stinky dog. Easy to train, around a year old I bought a bag of treats and sat down with Tater and taught him to shake within an hour and he's remembered...
...

missyyy2 says "Frontline Plus is a Great Product" about Frontline Plus

I've been using Frontline Plus for dogs for several years now, and my pet has never had fleas or ticks since I started applying it on him once a month. I've read several reviews where other people have said that this product does not work and their pets still have ticks/fleas, but that isn't the case with my dog. My golden retriever is exposed to heavily wooded areas and fields quite often too. The major drawback in my opinion is the price. For a tiny amount it is rather expensive, but you can probably stretch out the time between re-applying to more than the recommended once a month. Several of my friends only apply Front Line Plus on their pets every six to eight weeks without seeing any issues with the product losing its effectiveness, especially in the Winter and other times of the year when flea and tick season is over. To summarize, the product works great for me, but it would be nice if it wasn't so expensive.
...

This dog is so funny. My dog is named Cupcake. I laugh at her every day. I have always had tiny furry dogs before I got my Cupcake. I did not think that I would love her the way I do. She is a big dog that grunts all the time. She does not know that she is so big. She thinks that she is a lap dog. She is a very loving dog. She gets along well with my other dogs and even loves the cat. My entire family has fallen in love with this dog and we laugh at her everyday. I will always have a Bulldog. The English Bulldog has become my favorite breed. My daughter is in a wheelchair and Cupcake is very protective of her. Cupcake captures the heart of everyone who meets her. If I have a hard day at work I know that Cupcake will cheer me up. She is part of the family and probably its leader. She has the run of the house. Get an English Bulldog. You will never regret it. Your life will be filled with laughter.
...

NewStrategy says "As good as advertised-- to my surprise!" about Comfort Zone with Feliway Plug-Ins

Feliway cat diffuser is one of those products I wish I had found years ago. My well-behave pets went nuts after the baby was born, and I found myself cleaning up pools of liquid cat-resentment for months. The vet said nothing was wrong but nerves, so I thought I had to live with it or get rid of the cats.

Finally, in desperation, I tried this stuff, and I found immediate reduction in the number of times my cats fought with each other and tried to mark my house. I wish I had known early enough to save my wood floor or the wall paper from the spraying.

Now, our lives aren't perfect, but they are a lot better. We have very few "accidents" anymore, starting from almost the moment we plugged in our first set of diffusers. We use one in every room where the cats liked to urinate inappropriately. At first they picked new spots, but as time went on, they really began to give it up altogether.

The chemical lasts for about a month before it needs a refill, and it gets awfully pricey,...
...

I am owned by three sassy, sweet, quirky and loveable beagles. I have a tri-color beagle (male), a tan and white beagle (female) and a red and white beagle (female). I have had beagles in my life for nine years now and I have loved every minute with this wonderful breed.

Before becming a mother to my sweet son, I was a member of Triangle Beagle Rescue. I helped place over five hundred beagles while a member. I also fostered over fifty beagles in my home - one at a time.

Beagles are smart, stubborn, loveable, food motivated and wonderful with children. One of my beagles is a certified therapy dog. He and I visit nursing homes to cheer up the elderly residents. He performs a copious amount of tricks for the residents and brings smiles to their faces. He will lay down on a lap and soak in the attention as they pet him and rub him. He can be calm and submissive at the nursing home, and come home with me and roughouse with my young son.
...

saywhat says "Clear Water" about Aquasana Drinking System

This system was easy to install. The water comes out very clear which is a sign of good water. It's a little annoying to have to pull the tab out in order to filter your water everytime you turn it on. I also don't understand why it can't be used with hot water since they make shower systems, do they only work with cold water?? For the price though this is a good system. I wasn't ready to purchase one those pricey hospital grade systems if they really are any better. This system allows you to register with the company for automatic shipments of the filters every six months. This is a counter top system so the wire plugs that attach to your faucet do get a little in the way but it does not look bad, I actually like the way the unit looks. I chose this brand because it rated one of the highest for removing lead, chlorine and other toxins in the water. The water comes out with less pressure then the regular unfiltered water but the flow is still pretty good.
...

While making the semi-annual trip to Trader Joe's last week, I decided to pick up several cans of their dog food because the foster pups and their momma seemed to be bored with the dry kibble that I've been feeding them. Included in my cart were a few cans of Trader Joe's Chunky Beef Dinner.

I'm not rich by any means, but I do go out of my way and spend the extra money to buy pet foods that don't contain mystery meat, by-products, corn, gluten, etc. This Trader Joe's Chunky Beef Dinner Canned Dog Food fits the bill as the main ingredients include beef, chicken, textured soy protein, animal liver, and a bunch of vitamin/mineral supplements. Aside from the good-quality ingredients, I also love the fact that a giant 22 ounce can of this Chunky Beef Dinner costs only $1.09. A can of a lower-quality food like IAMS or Science Diet costs the same, but it contains by-products *and* the can contains only 12 or 16 ounces.

Our puppy George is a seventy pound great pyranees who has recently been teething very very very badly on any and everything that he can get his little (ok big) grubby(not really, he loves baths) paws on. Anything includes: shoes, chair legs or arms, the kitchen table, even the refrigerator is not safe from the horror that is a huge puppy teething. We had tried many many puppy toys that said they were rough and tough and would stand up to the toughest and roughest of chewers. Well after going through many dog toys most chewed through within milliseconds of him being given the "rough and tough" toys. After discovering the kong ball my great big pyranees puppy now has a toy both he and i can play with and there is no being disappointed when he chews through or breaks the toy some other interesting way. We have a very, very happy puppy that is very much enjoying his brand new kong ball dog toy!
...

Our puppy george is a very, very large puppy, a great pyranees to be exact, he is six months old and seventy pounds. He also has a very good idea of what he likes and what he does not like! George loves purina one large breed puppy food! We had a very hard time finding a brand and flavor of large breed puppy food that was just the right size and flavor for our big baby doggie. He loves purina one large breed and it is no longer a fight to get him to eat! Also there is a lot less dumping over of his food bowl. I must say we are all a lot happier since george and I have found purina one. His appetite is back, his coat is a whole lot shinier and he has more energy than ever. I also love that it has such easy to chew pieces, as he has lost a lot of baby teeth recently and had a really hard time with some of the other brands that were a lot smaller in size and were not quite formulated with a big puppy with very few teeth in mind.
...

Papillions are a whimsical breed. They possess a natural confidence which makes them social, engaging, interesting and inquisitive. Typically no shyness here, they do not shy away from social situations and interact well with dogs of all sizes, adults and children. They are a breed that is just as at home in a small apartment or large house. They can handle long walks or short outside time. They can be potty trained inside or outside as well as love to be challenged by learning tricks or memory games. They are not a yappy breed, yet do sound the alarm if something is amiss or a knock at the door. They typically will stay close to their owner in that they love to be social. Light eaters, will work for treats and can be part of a multi-dog or cat household.
kmpbacon says "Cats Pride is a must for multiple cat owners" about Cat's Pride multiple cat clumping kitty litter

I have three indoor cats, so deciding which litter to use was important to me.

After purchasing and trying several brands, the one I chose was Cats Pride Multiple Cats clumping litter. This litter met all my qualifications! One of the most important things to me was a litter that does not track after a cat leaves the box. Cats Pride does an excellent job of keeping litter in the box and off the floors.

Also important is keeping odors to a minimum. With three cats, odor control could be hard to achieve. Equally important to me was keeping it smelling fresh for my cats. Cats can be finicky about this kind of thing and may choose to eliminate elsewhere if it gets to bad. This is not an issue with Cats Pride.

Finally, it's claim of being a clumping litter is true. Some litters do not hold well, making it hard to scoop. Also, other brands I have used have been of a muddy consistency, making a mess and sticking to the scoop. Cats Pride seems to alleviate all of these problems.

pinkjam510 says "My Favorite Pet Ever" about Parakeets

I have had parakeets since I was age 3. After having parakeets for over twenty years, I am not sure I could adjust to anything else. While growing up my family was initially attracted to parakeets for their low maintenance and gentle nature. There isn't a lot of physical or financial responsibility for parakeets. Although I am sure they can be taken to the vet, I have never felt the need to do so. Without veternarian costs, parakeets are very cost friendly.

Through the years my parakeets have become my best friends. I currently have two. Although my parakeets love each other, they still look forward to spending time with me. They do need time and affection like any other pet would need. If you feel that you do not have enough time to devote to them, get them a friend. My parakeets are not in the same cage but I place them beside each other if I am gone for a prolonged period of time.

Parakeets can bite but that is rare and infrequent as long as they are given the proper...
...

adominicus4 says "Love my pug!" about Dog Breed Pug

When researching dog breeds that would fit our lifestyle, we knew a large breed would not be a good match. We needed a dog that did not require a fenced - in yard or a lot of maintenance. The pug is the dog for us. Junior, our 8 yr. old male, is the most loveable dog. All he wants to do is to sit on your lap and get belly rubs. As the other reviewers commented, you need to be careful with pugs. They cannot stay out in the heat or cold for too long b/c of their short noses. They also tend to shed, but that's manageable. The best part of having a pug is the constant love they give back.

I would get another if I could!
...

agentalpo says "This doesn't work for the long term." about Adams Flea and Tick Mist

This product claims to kill and repel adult fleas, eggs, and larvae. I don't recall the time frame, but I think it was up to four months.

We had, and still have, a moderate flea infestation in our home and on our dog. We bathed her, sprayed her, and thoroughly cleaned and sprayed the house. It seemed to be very effective and lasted for about 3 to 4 weeks. Then the fleas returned. We did a repeat bath, spray, and house cleaning, but it seems to have had no effect. We're now looking for alternate solutions. If this product really did what it claimed, the fleas would not have come back.

If you are looking for a short term solution until you can find a better long term solution, then this product is decent and affordable in a pinch. If you are looking for long term solutions, look elsewhere. I'll probably end up having to break the bank for a monthly preventative like Frontline or Advantage.
...

amaralt says "only the best for my boys" about IAMS Large Breed Chunks

Since our 2 Pitbulls, Dae-Dae and Smokie Joe, were pups we've been feeding them Iams. Now that they are 4 1/2 years old, it only makes sense to give them something that they love. We have tried a few others once or twice in emergency situations but after the inital feeding they don't want it anymore so we ended up throwing the others away. Iams is the only food they consistantly like and eat. As a result, their teeth, coats, energy levels are the best they can be. Every visit with the vet is a constant rave about how well they are doing and look. I wouldn't feed my pets anything else.
...
