darlyn63 says "This is one small place, tiny bathrooms. Real tiny." about Red Roof Inn - Rockford, IL

When we were house hunting, my husbands company the first time set us up at a really nice Hotel. The second trip, well lets just say you had to move a certain way once you were going into the bathroom, just to close the door. It was so tiny, I honestly don't know how a bigger person could of gotten in there, the size of the bathroom. Maybe Alice in Wonderland designed it. And she didn't live there anymore.

Actually in and out of the bathroom, never seen such a tiny space. I don't mind saving a buck or two, but his company went from one extreme to the other. Kind of felt sucked in after the first trip when we said o.k. we'll move. Seemed like a nice area, it was just this Red Roof was a real disappointment. The rooms were so tiny, I just couldn't get over the bathroom situation, and from what I recall the water pressure wasn't much better. I've been to a Red Roof Inn before but not like that one on State St. in Rockford. IL.

I just found it hard to believe the company set us up...
...

mama2madalynn says "Older hotel with lots of great amenities." about East Liverpool Motorlodge - East Liverpool, OH

We stayed at the East Liverpool Motorlodge in Ohio for 3 weeks. My husband was going there for business and me and my daughter decided to come along for us to have sort of a mini vacation. We all had never visited Ohio before. Before we headed for Ohio, (we live in Georgia), I called around to different hotels that I could find online that were local to the area that my husband was going to be working at. The East Liverpool Motorlodge was the best option for our budget and needs. My first impression of the hotel was that physically it looked older like maybe originated around the 1980's or so. But it's still in great shape. The room didn't have a bad smell to it. We always get non=smoking rooms. But this particular hotel does have smoking rooms available. The East Liverpool Motorlodge Hotel has lots of amenities too such as...

-Indoor Heated Pool

-Indoor Hot Tub (Heated with Whirlpool Jets)

-Fitness Center (with lots and lots of different workout machines to choose from), Locker room with...
...

The Econco Lodge in Bossier City, LA is the most disgusting place that I have ever seen. It is filthy and infested with bed bugs. I noticed a couple of bites on my neck after a day, but thought that I had been in contact with mosquitoes. But by the time I arrived back home I had 42 bites. I even went to the doctor for anibiotics because bed bugs carry many diseases. I looked up a site on the internet to be sure that the bites were from bed bugs. I definitely was suffering from bed bug bites. I had seen a news report about bed bugs before my stay at the Econo Lodge. I knew that they were becoming a serious problem in the United States, especially in travel accomodations. And, as is usually the case, I brought them home in my luggage. I called the Econo Lodge to report the problem. The employee with whom I spoke was totally unconcerned with the problem. He said he would notify the managememnt. However he did not ask who I was or what room we had occupied. It was as though my report was...
...

We chose the Homestead Resort to have our wedding at. We choose your resort because we wanted to get married on the beach, and the views on the your website were beautiful. We live just north of Detroit, so it is almost a 5 hour drive. All of our guests also live near us, thus having just about the same drive we did.

Once we arrived we checked in, and were given keys to our room. We arranged to stay at a Little Bell Suite. Instead we were given a room at Fiddlers Pond #27, which was a plain and basic room. ]The room had 1 small bathroom, and 1 bed. Defiantly not the suite we were looking for. We had to go back to the front desk where they told us all the other rooms were booked. I had to go out to my vehicle, gather my laptop computer, and pull up the emails our wedding cordinator (Barb Ellis) to show the receptionist what we were promised. After waiting 1 hour, we were finally given another room. Once we arrived in the room, we were overwhelmed with fruit flies. How...
...

jps246 says "I enjoyed staying at the Acadia Inn in Bar Harbor, Maine" about Acadia Inn - Bar Harbor, ME

The Acadia Inn is located on Route 3 (98 Eden Street) just outside of Bar Harbor. The hotel is about a mile from the center of the downtown area. The hotel has an "ocean view" though you are looking through some trees and over the hotels that are on the other side of the road, up against the ocean.

Since it was November when we arrived, the hotel was not very crowded. We had reservations ahead of time, but at that time of the year, it did not seem like they were needed. The lobby area has the check-in desk, a small gift shop and then a dining area for the complimentary breakfast in the morning. Our room was on the ocean side of the building so we looked across the parking lot, across Route 3 and across the property on the other side of the road to the ocean.

We got a room with a king-sized bed. Rooms with two queen beds were also available. The room was your typical hotel room. You walked into a small hallway when you opened the door. The bathroom was to the left and had the sink...
...

There is nothing fancy about this hotel but the service and the location are just really amazing for the price. Sure you can find a nicer hotel in Chicago, but you will definitely be paying more which we opted not to do because all we need is a place to sleep but should be close to everything. Anyway the rooms are small but clean and loved their simple breakfast because it definitely saved us some money. I also loved the staff because they were so friendly and helpful. We would definitely go back....

While the Ellsworth Comfort Inn is nothing special, the rooms are decent, the bed was comfortable and overall for what I spent on the room, I thought I got a decent deal.

The Hotel is located along High Street (Route 1 and Route 3) in the commercial part of Ellsworth. This is a Comfort Inn and we weren't expecting much more than a clean room. We got that along with a pretty pleasant stay. We walked in without reservations considering it was November in Ellsworth and had no problem getting a room. Our room rate was $90, which was a bit lower than the Holiday Inn down the street.

That money got us the hotel room with two queen beds, a decently sized bathroom and access to the workout room in the hotel along with a free breakfast in the morning. We also got HBO on the TV along with the regular cable channels. The room was pretty basic, but clean and neat so we were happy about that. There was also complimentary wireless internet access available. We took advantage of it and everything...
...

Staying at the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel in Chicago was a wonderful experience!I have stayed in many hotels, my husband frequently travels and I am allowed to go with him. So I have stayed at my fair share of bad hotels! The staff was so nice and helpful. The hotel is situated within walking distance to a lot of downtoen attractions. The overall look of the hotel is very rich and attractive. The rooms were wonderfully decorated, clean, and spacious. And the bed was so comfortable! The bathrooms themselves are nicer than most hotel rooms. Of course with everything good there is always bad it was very expensive and the do not offer the amenities that a lot of people look for in a hotel such as free wireless, continental breakfast, pool and fitness center. This hotel is for couples or singles looking to have a great time in Chicago and want a nice realxing place to go back to at the end of the day and relax.
...

For the past 3 weeks, I've been staying at the Wyndham Garden Hotel and Resort in Boca Raton, (pka Holiday Inn). I hesitate to say I know this place inside and out, however, I do feel as though I can be a bit more objective than most due to the length of my stay.

According to hotel staff, the Wyndham Hotel changed its name, look at room layouts circa January 2009. Here is a brief description of what I've noticed while staying here:

ROOMS: The hotel beds are new and comfortable with pillow-top mattresses and fresh white linens. "Smart" chairs are located in most rooms which feature swivel desktop arm tables and power outlets built into the chair for easy laptop use. Larger individuals might feel a little cramped/confined in the chair. (My boyfriend is about 5'11", 180 lbs and is on the brink of feeling uncomfortable while surfing the web in the Smart Chair ). There is also a desk with an ethernet cable, but their wi-fi is so good here, you probably won't even need it. I loved...
...

My husband and I stayed at Ka'ana boutique resort in Belize during July of 2009. The resort made it the most amazing trip. Our anniversary was while we were there and the resort managers and chef fixed up a romatic anniversary dinner for us in the wine cellar. They had a musician playing traditional mayan music for us while we ate. They made us a delicious cake to help us celebrate and even gave us an anniversary gift (a mayan calendar carved out of slate. They really went over and beyond expectations to make our day special. We took several amazing tours while we were there (ATM cave tour, Tikal, cave tubing, etc.). Our tour guides were always so fun and knowledgeable. We learned so much about Belize and Mayan culture. Our room was very nice and the bed was comfortable. Our every need was tended to. The food was always delicious. I feel like we made friends with all of the people that worked at Ka'ana. They truly made our vacation special.
...

Roayal Solaris Cabos is a well kept hotel. The staff is very friendly, the food is good & the hotel is nice & clean!! This is a nice hotel for older couples & families.

I went with 3

The bad thing about the hotel is it is about an 30 minutes to 1 hr drive to anything. We went for a walk around the city & there was no one else in sight. I couldn't believe we were the only people on the streets. There's nothing around to walk to, except for construction on upcoming condos & hotels. Normally when I go on vacation I like to walk to the nearby bars, shops. There's nothing in walking distance, very disappointed :(.

The advertisments for the hotel is sooooo misleading. This is the 1st time I've ever been to a hotel & the beach is non-swimmable!! I'm from Indianapolis, IN we don't have a beach in sight. When I go on vacation I like to sit on the beach, we could not do that because the tides were too strong! The pool & jacuzzi close @ 7pm {how boring}. This was very disappointing...
...

I stayed at the Wild Dunes Resort on Isle of Palms in September 2009. Specifically, I stayed at the Boardwalk Inn. First of all, the overall check in process was great. I got my vehicle pass in the mail a week prior to my arrival, which allowed me to go right through the security/guard gate onto the property very quickly. The staff at the Inn was magnificant. From bellhops and valets to front desk and housekeeping, everyone made me feel welcomed. All were very accomodating to my needs and requests. They were just great in general! Always had a smile on their faces and a 'hello' for myself and my party.

I was slightly disappointed in my ocean view room...the beach and water were a distance away and several Dunes housing complexes were in between...I could definitely hear the water when I sat on my balcony though. The room was spacious, well appointed, and very clean. The restaurants and food were excellent, although choices were somewhat limited on resort grounds...great food nearby at...
...

What a pleasure it has been to receive our free night certificate without having to request it. It was just waiting for us along with the other mail. We did not call, email, write or phone for it. That was unusual. We wondered where to use it. We have been to the two other hotels in the area that belong to this chain and were postponing a visit to either for personal reasons. To our surprise, we were able to get a room at the Red Roof Inn, Miami Airport, the previous night. Another first! We were not given the run around usually encountered when using rewards certificates. The reservation process and check in were totally painless.

Upon check in we were given as requested, an all inclusive King Room. I received a T-Mobile day pass. along with the key. The room was spotless. The halls have a pleasant aroma.

My girlfriends and I wanted to have a European vacation and see sites and experience the culture and food, but we also wanted to be able to have our relax, hang out time. So, we decided to rent an apartment so we could cook and drink wine and have some nights after a busy day of siteseeing like we were at one of our own apartments. We rented one through Visit Barcelona, which is a part of Visit All the World apartments. We were so happy with it, that for the rest of our trip we cancelled our hotel reservations in other cities and used their apartments for all of the cities on our agenda! Our Barcelona apartment was in the perfect location. Right by La Ramblas the old part of the city and very close to subway lines and the beaches. It was great. Our apartment had a terrace to so we were able to eat some of our meals and have wine and cigarettes outside without leaving our apartment! Our home away from home enhanced our stay so much that I am going to write about each one we stayed in!
...

This is one of our favorite places to visit and we live in Orlando. The best part about staying at the campgrounds is that you can stay right at Ft. Wilderness and not have to leave. We stayed in one of the cabins on off season and brought our own food. The cabins sleep 6 people via bunk bed, queen bed and then a pull out sofa. There is a full kitchen, refrigerator, deck and grill. You drive your car right up to the cabin.

If you have little ones, I highly recommend because you can have the children sleep in the room (close the door) while you can go into the living room area and watch tv. Hard to do in a regular hotel.

The campgrounds have stables, pony rides, fishing, a beach, playground, arcade, pool and fishing.

If you are able to, go to Hoop De Doo. It is well worth the money and a fun night for all ages. They have some slight adult humor in the show that kids won't get, but are goofy enough that the kids love it. The food is endless and the best fried chicken and...
...

This is good bang for your buck. Location is in a decent neighborhood near restaurants and the shopping mall. Friendly staff greet you at the door. They have clean rooms, and they re-stock shampoo, conditioner, soap, coffee & creamer, and popcorn everyday.

There is a kitchen with stove, microwave, dishwasher, cooking ware, plates and utensils. Its a bit outdated but surprisingly clean and in good condition.

There is a work desk in the kitchen conveniently near the refrigerator so all I have to do is turn around to get a drink.

lc78sep says "Ashton Waikiki Circle Hotel is great if on a budget." about Ashton Waikiki Circle Hotel - Honolulu, HI

I went here a few years back with my mom and sister. We stayed at the Ashton Waikiki Circle Hotel while on our visit. It is right across the street from Waikiki Beach which was great! The rooms were very clean and the beds were very comfortable. Almost each room has a full ocean or partial ocean view which was great too. The only down side was the showers were really small, it felt like you were showering in a coffin. Aside from this I would stay here again because it was great for my budget and so close to everything I wanted to do.
...

debbiechaves says "style with no substance" about radisson - nashua, NH

The Radisson in Nashua, Nh has a lot of stlyle but needs more substance. Upon arrival it is reminiscient of a castle with knights and overstuffed sofas in foyer. The first room we were shown to had the numbers of the room ripped off the door and wall andthe lights didn't work. The second room had the same problem with the lights and when i called the front desk he asked me if i tried the switches on the wall and i had and he said he would send maintenance. Maintenance never got there but i did discover every light was controlled by its own switch at the bottom of its base and obviously hotel employees either knew this and didn't want to say or didn't know at all. There was a thin layer of dust on the furniture. The bathtub needed serious caulking and the seam where it met the floor had a flap that came apart and needed to be fixed. The hotel was very courteous on providing directions to local attractions.
...

JohnRMarler says "Clean and efficient" about Jerusalem Gold Hotel - Jerusalem, Israel

Found the Jerusalem Gold, a little gem, by accident and found it to be reasonable and clean. They serve a descent breakfast to all guest. Beds are spartan, but clean and comfortable.

The beds are small but long enough for me -6"5" and the only cover was a duvet covered quilt, but was adequate for comfortable sleeping.

Family owned, the manager seemed to be everywhere, checking out the dining room, checking out the lobby and making sure any needs were taken care of. Really did not expect the class for the price we paid, especially during a major holiday for the Jewish residents - Feast of Tabernacles.

Enjoyed the stay.

JaneF says "Spectacular setting, marvelous hosts, incredible food!" about Gougane Barra Hotel - Macroom, County Cork, IE, Ireland

This hotel is more like a B&B; very cozy - not fancy, with the exception of the food. Dined on a 4 course meal which was absolutely incredible. The hosts, the Luceys, are a very hard-working, very friendly couple with a great sense of humor who very clearly care about their guests. The setting is too much for words and hard to even capture with a camera lens. Just beautiful. Gougane Barra Forest Park is a place from a fairy tale with green mossy forests, wildflowers, waterfalls, creeks and shamrocks.

It is a really lovely place to stay and I can't recommend it enough. Check out their website for additional info and if you are in County Cork, do go see Neil and Katy Lucey. Have the "porridge" (oatmeal) with Bailey's Irish Cream and chocolate chips for breakfast - no better way to start an Irish morning!
...
