grannyinahurrican says "Worst possible service" about Delta Airlines

My aunt and I recently went to WV ad while the flight there was uneventful, the return flight was a nightmare all around. There were mechanical delays in Lewisburg, WV. which caused us to miss our connecting flight in Atlanta. The Delta employees were not at all helpful, just left us there after our next connecting flight at 6:55pm was full. He told us we were on standby for that flight. That's not what we were told in Lewisburg. The rep. there, a man with the first name that starts with an R didn't direct us to what gate or what flight we would be on, only that it was 10:30pm. Then he left and shut the door, thats it! We were suppose to fly out of Atlanta at 4:16pm. So we walked around for awhile thinking we're going to be stuck here forever. Neither of us had a cell to call home, calling cards were not available at any of the stores we tried, 4 in all. Finally we stopped at a centralized desk on concourse...

I love Hawaiian Airlines. They are one of the only airlines that offer non-stop flights to Hawaii from Seattle which makes it easier for those travelling with young children. They are very accomodating to your needs and are one of the only airlines that still gives you a meal in-flight without charging you. They do however charge you for ear phones to watch the movie, so keep the ear phones so that you won't have to pay on your return trip! Join the HawaiianMiles for free and rack up the points to get you back to Hawaii...

Booked 2 tickets on June 16 for october 1st and received the confirmation email and my credit card was charged. on July 2nd I receive another confirmation email who stated I was confirmed for october 2nd. I call customer service asking if there was a mistake and they say: no it s a schedule change we can change your schedule anytime, it s company policy. Surely it s company policy but even a box sent with USPS has a better schedule than a passenger on Airtran. You are a shame for the airline industry and you should put out of the market! Will not book with them and pass the word to everybody on internet to be sure this big joke stop...

I will never fly with them again! — They may have great prices but the worst customer service ever. — I have a 3 year old daughter and my husband is in a wheelchair. We had a 30 minute passing time between our flights and missed our plane because of them!!! The pilot said he had called ahead so they can have a wheelchair waiting for my husband when we landed. We ended up waiting 20 minutes after the plane landed! We got to our gate and missed our plane. It could have been prevented! How? They could have had the other plane wait and the wheelchair should have been there waiting for my husband! Not only did we have to wait another 3 hours for the next plane, they put us in the exit row seats!!! Hello IDIOTS, I have a 3 year old daughter and a disabled husband, how the hell are we going to help others if the damn plane crashes! We had to wait for other passengers to be seated and asked if it was ok for them to switch seats. My daughter, being two and having to pay for her...

The only real criteria for judging an air flight is did it get you where you wanted to go, and not fall from the sky. If that works out OK, everything else is almost inconsequential. But in the case of United, with their legendary non customer service and penchant for screwing up my travel schedule, I feel compelled to dive down to the 1 star rating. I won't even dwell on the baggage issue, or the timeliness of flights, or the unbridled non enthusiasm of the in cabin flight attendants for the needs of the business, leisure, or family traveler. — I feel my review title sums my feelings up perfectly. I fly a lot, and have accumulated well over half a million air miles with ease, and I won't fly United again unless they become the last airline on the planet. Even writing about them raises my ire, and trashes my calm. — There are many fine airlines which perform the service aspect of airline travel very well. Transporting...

I flew Frountier last summer from Portland, OR (PDX) to Atlanta, GA (ATL). This was my first time flying so I was a bit nervouse. Check-in in Portland went quick, that Frountier employee's seemed friendly. Plane was on time, had a 2 hour layover in Dever. Again the plane was ontime. From the Denver to Atlanta I tryed to sleep since I had been up all night, but the flight attendent kept bumping into my seat with the cart. Then the captain got on and sais "we are not landing, we just have to fly lower because of some problem with the cabin pressurization computer" Me hearing this as a first time flyer kind of freaked meout but nobody seemed to care so I tried my best to shrug it off the best I could. Smoothing landing in Atlanta, kinda like flying through the clouds. — — On the return trip. I showed up to the Atlanta airport early, there was a long line at the Frountier counter but the line moved at a descent speed. Waited 45 min. in line to get through security, Plus one...

Allegiant Air... Never Again!I have never before seen such a poorly managed AirLine. My first experience with flying Allegiant Air will be my last (unless I have all day to spend in the airport for a 2 hour direct flight). — First, my flight outgoing from Knoxville, TN to Orlando, FL was delayed an hour and a half waiting on a plane. Then, one week later my return flight was delayed two and a half hours because they didn't have enough planes to get everyone waiting in the airport to their destinations. The gate agent came over the microphone and announced that our plane had been given to another flight headed for North Carolina because they were delayed waiting on a plane. Long story short, we watched our plane take-off for North Carolina while we waited on it to return to pick us up and fly us back to Knoxville. — Apparently, I'm not alone in my experience with Allegiant. While waiting in the airport, I had a chance to do a little Google-ing on Allegiant Air... I...

My girlfriend and I were all ready for our 10 day trip to Belize from LAX. I had spent 2 months planning and had everything worked out, and (as is customary with travel in Belize), everything was prepaid. I showed up at the airport at 11:35 PM for our 1:55AM flight. After waiting for more than an hour with the hectic, over-crowded line barely moving, we complained that we were on pace to miss our flight, and they ended up moving us up in the line. Once we got up there, they started checking us in, and the told us that they had overbooked the flight and we could not get on. I cant even begin to tell you how angry this made me after having a confirmed flight fo almost 3 months, to show up for a 2AM flight and get bumped. Now, we are out $600 from a prepaid night at a hotel and a tour that we had planned. We are now scheduled to leave on the flight at 2 AM the next day, and all we got was two vouchers for an airline that we are never going to fly again. I will never understand how an...

I was scheduled to fly out of Flint to Seattle connecting through Cincinnati. I got to the airport and had to stand in line to deal with a representative because the kiosks didn't accept Continental passengers, only Delta, as they were operating for Continental. My flight came up as cancelled on the screen. I waited in line patiently and was told by a rep when I finally was serviced that the earliest they could get me out was 8 pm the following day which would cause me to miss work. I asked if I could drive to Detroit and fly out there. The answer was no. THIS WAS A TOTAL LIE! I walked down to the NorthWest counter and asked if I could fly to Seattle connecting through Minneapolis. The answer was yes and they exchanged my Continental ticket just like that. — — Continental has an agreement with NorthWest allowing them to arrange connections through each other. That was not the course of action the Continental reps took. Instead they only thought about keeping my money and...

Thai Airlines is an excellent airline with service that US airlines could only dream of matching. From the moment you get on board and see the bright purple uniforms, to the high-quality food served throughout the flight, there is no parallel with US long-haul flights.
Spirit Airlines is a terrible airline in every way; they only get away with it because they tend to have very low fares. Nonetheless, when you book with them, you are taking a great chance that you will be bumped off your flight or that your flight will be greatly delayed. Your rights as a customer are very limited with Spirit, and they are notorious for having poor customer service, but they get away with it by charging low fares. If anything at all matters to you other than the price, do not book with them. I had a bad experience on their Atlantic City to Cartagena flight, and the rest is...

For one, the frequent flier mile program is widely viewed as the best one among the 6 legacy carriers. It offers the most flexibility, has the least extra fees, and has the most ways to earn miles. In addition, its hubs are in less crowded locations like Detroit, Minneapolis, Memphis, and Tokyo, allowing for smoother connections. As such, I highly recommend Northwest...

American Airlines is a very bad airline when it comes to baggage. My baggage was recently lost flying from Miami to JFK, and the baggage claims person told me that it "happens all the time." The employees have a very nonchalant attitude about baggage, and it took me 2 weeks to finally receive my baggage. In addition, American Airlines was the first to begin charging extra money for the FIRST checked baggage.

Most people won't be able to use Cayman Airways because they only fly out of three U.S. airports and only serve Jamaica and the 3 islands of the Caymans. Very small route map, very small airline. They are not for everybody, but if you can use them, you will like them. — I live in Miami, which is one of the three U.S. airports where Cayman flies. I first flew with them when I was living in NYC, which is another of the three. Tampa is the other U.S. destination. — Most flights go to Grand Cayman, but they also fly to Little Cayman and Cayman Brac. These are good places to escape from the crowds because most tourists stay on Grand Cayman. — The planes are nice and the flight attendants are very friendly. There are not usually meals served on Cayman Airways because most flights are very short. The longest one is from New York to Grand Cayman and that only takes about 2 hours. The flight attendants are very friendly too. — If you are in New York or Florida, try...
