My Yoga Toes have arrived, looking good enough to eat in their fluorescent pink-and-jello way. My overlapped toes quiver. Is this exciting or what? Will this make my dogwalking shoes more comfortable?
I dip the YTs in water and manipulate each toe into its own little section. Whoops! It doesn't work. Try again. This time I don't put the big toes into the whee, whee, whee piggy's smaller partition. Both feet are, with effort, finally embraced, and my toes feel weird.
An hour a day is good for starters. I read or watch TV 'cause these Toes weren't made for walkin'.
Seriously, I researched extensively before plunking forty-something dollars down for the authentic Yoga Toes. Their reviews were almost uniformly positive while those for the cheaper, less flexible, ill-proportioned, cheaper imitations spoke mainly in the negative. As a result of the YTs, my toes are increasingly more comfortable, especially in any shoe with a toe box.
I can......

I've only had these for three days, but I am totally sold - and so is my husband, who has all kinds of foot complaints. I wore them for about 10 minutes three times the first day, a little longer the second, and now I wish I had more sitting time in the day so I could wear them longer. I can feel the bones shifting - it's like chiropractics for the feet. I love walking around right after I take them off too - hope that feeling keeps lasting longer and longer.

I got them to correct my big toes that bend inward and I can't tell if that will happen yet - but all my toes are just loving the daily stretching.

Great product.
...

This block has helped my yoga practice. It allows you to have a comfortable strech, rather than over streching and creating a potential injury.

I no longer need it for most moves but I would not have achieved so much so quickly without this block.
...

The exercise ball works great for doing sit-ups, because you have a greater range of motion. I could really feel my abdominal muscles working, especially around my rib cage. It also helps when lifting weights, by making you rely on additional muscle groups for balance as well as strength. I would recommend the exercise ball if you are looking to add stabilization to your workouts, as well as to try something new....

Well for starters I have been using a ball for about four years, and I have always loved it until one of my dogs Pounced on it and his claw got stuck in it and popped it, Then I gave up exercising for a while, Now im back ON track last week I went out and Bought a new ANTI-pop ball and i love it, i swear they were the best thing ever invented.

This ball is great for me because I have a bad knee (soccer), I can do all types of exercises on it, not just yoga, that get me great results without the bad pain! It is good for people who are just getting started because there are a lot of simple exercises to do, and as you get more experienced, the more complex you can make your routine. Besides that its easy to store in a closet and easy to inflate/deflate if you're going to have company over and need all the space you can get!...

My new love these days is yoga. I'm addicted to it like it's a drug. I can't stop thinking about when I can get my next fix but, like a drug, the addiction is getting a little expensive so I've set up a small studio in my home where I can practice a few times a week.

One of the props I picked up for my studio is the Gaiam Yoga Essentials Strap. While I'm getting more flexible every day, there are certain moves with which I need some extra help to hold the stretch or to extend it. For example, lying on my back with my legs straight up in the air. Sure I could do this one up against the wall but it's not the same and going over to the wall does not always fit into the flow properly.

This six foot strap allows me to loop it around one or both feet to lengthen and hold the stretch and keeps me from getting lazy and just laying there with my legs up in the air. It's just a cotton strap but it helps get me into the right form and keep me there. The Yoga Essentials Strap is made...
...

goatspirit says "helpful for wrists and hands" about Gaiam Yoga Essentials Brick

I enjoy yoga but am limited by weak wrists that used to require the use of a fist rather than a hand flat on the ground. Then.......I sprained one had and have not been able to make a fist that supports my body weight. I tried a variety of objects to distribute the weight through my hand differently and then came across these bricks -- they are wonderful. They are soft enough to give a bit (wood would not work for me) but allow me to hold the pose nicely. Plus the company states that they are made of a product that gives off no toxic fumes.

So for sprained hands and wrist problems they make possible yoga poses that otherwise I would not be able to do at all!...

I purchased this product because of the rave reviews both on the website and in a popular women's magazine. I was lucky that I did not spend the full price of $50, but actually had a coupon for 50% off.

I used the product religiously to correct a hammer toe on my left foot. I agree with the first reviewer that this product is painful, especially if you have painful toes to begin with. The product did absolutely nothing to help me. I ended up throwing it in the garbage and finding a good Podiatrist.

I actually just had surgery to correct the hammer toe two weeks ago, and at least now I know that the toe will be fixed properly and that I will no longer be in any pain once it heals thoroughly.

Don't waste your money on this gadget. It is worthless. The manufacturers are laughing all the way to the bank.

...

YOGA TOES- HA! Well, I gave them a try because of all those extremely glowing reviews at the 'yogatoes.com' website. However, after almost 3 months of use I have seen no improvement. I have every kind of foot ailment that they're supposed to fix- hammer toes, bunions, crowded toes, etc. I used them over four hours each day- quite painfully I might add, and still - nothing. One good thing is the guarantee which states they can be returned within three months if not satisfied. I'm NOT and they ARE going back! (NOTE: They cost $50)
...

i am so obsessed with lululemon! I am a big exerciser, and i have tried many brands of clothing. Lululemon is simply the best choice for yoga and pilates! They offer many syles and colors to choose from. They fit great. The pants do run a little long, but they do free alterations. They even just did free alterations on lycra tank tops for me - they were too long, so they shortened them. I truly believe that they have a style for everyone. I love that there are so many coordinating pieces. Unfortunately, you cannot purchase the clothes on line, you must go to a Lululemon store. They look great on everyone and are so comfortable. I even wear them when i am not exercising....

Quick View: These are great for tired, sore feet especially those that have been stuffed into pointy of narrow shoes for hours on end. Relax and repair your feet with these comfortable Yoga Toes.

About Yoga Toes Toe Stretchers Men/Women's Small Size

Yoga Toes are the answer for people whose feet are contorted into shoes that aren't made for the human foot. We women wear impossible high heels, pointed toes, and narrow shoes. Men, as well, pummel their feet all day long in shoes that are ill fitting. Yoga Toes help stretch the ligaments and to straighten the toes. If you have a "hammer toe" or toes that are crooked from ill-fitting shoes, these thick rubber toe stretchers can really relieve the problems. They relax the foot and feel comfortable and invigorating.

Wet the Yoga Toes then slide on over your toes. They will stretch your feet comfortably and give you and ahhhhhhhhhhhh feeling. At first, they may be uncomfortable because your feet aren't used to being able to spread out and relax....
...

Quick View: Do you want to start or try yoga? It can be confusing picking out a mat, video, and accessories. BodyTrends makes it easy. You get everything you need to try yoga or begin the art of yoga in one package. The products aren't top of the line but they're good and the kit is very affordable.
About the BodyTrends Yoga Solution Kit

This kit includes a "sticky" yoga mat which is supposed to be the best kind of mat for yoga. By sticky, I mean it isn't slippery and helps you to get into poses and not slide around. The mat is tacky to the touch. You also get two yoga blocks that beginners often need (as do some advanced exercisers) for certain poses. Included as well is a yoga strap for when you aren't flexible enough to do certain poses. This strap helps you to reach and achieve flexibility.

The video that comes with the set is the one real drawback. It is called Yoga, Weight Loss, & You and is tough for any beginner. It does break down the moves but anyone not acquainted with yoga......

They are an excellent way to work your core muscles.

A Closer View

Pilates (pronounced puh-LAH-teez) is something like a cross between yoga, stretching and calisthenics.

Pilates:
Enhances body alignment
Strengthens the abs, back and stabilizer muscles
Stretches, strengthens and relaxes your body
When modified, is gentle enough for pregnant women, yet challenging enough for advanced exercisers.
Incorporates exercises that target your abs, back and legs, making your body strong and flexible.

Pilates is a body mind exercise system developed by Joseph Hubertus Pilates approximately 80 years ago.

While Pilates helps with flexibility, posture and strength, it isn't much of a cardio or strength training workout, so it should be an add-on to a regular routine.

What makes Pilates different from Yoga is that it's more dynamic. In many moves, you hold your torso in place while moving your limbs in different directions, which challenges your balance,...
...

Jo says "The Maha Yoga Mat isn't sticky but offered me traction - for $50" about Maha Purple Lite Yoga Mat

My son-in-law has too many Yoga mats to count. One I practiced on is the Maha Mat. It’s quite different from those I’m used to.

To the Point

I liked using The Maha Mat. For over close to $50 I think it’s overpriced.

A Closer View

The Maha mat is over 5mm thick which is a couple millimeters thicker than inexpensive mats. If you have a sticky mat you’ll find this one very different. It isn’t sticky. Some mats (Those at Kripalu – reviewed) are so sticky the mat would come up with my feet. The Maha Mat has traction rather than stickiness. There is a herringbone design which prevented my feet from slipping.

It’s about 71 inches long by 24 inches wide. It weighs 4 1/2 pounds and is made of
98% pvc and 2% polyester. It's made in Germany.

Since it isn’t stick it seemed to stay flat rather than rising up as in some poses. I used it both on their hardwood floor and their carpeting.

Jo’s Viewpoint

I like it!

...
