So i recently bought this product because i saw the commercial that said that you can burn twice the calories or running by walking on this. So my family bought it and i really enjoied it. There are different finacial choices for everyone, for example some have calorie counters but it costs extra money. i would suggest buying the cheapest one because its all the same machinery it just has different programs. You can use it wear you walk up and down like on the comercial or just walk like you would on an incline. my daughter used this and broke the gear or something that makes it go up and down evenly so i would say that is a con to this product that it could brake, but then again my kid used it and i have no idea what she did. if you get dizzy easily then i would suggest not to use this product because walking up and down might not be okay for you. The maximum speed it goes to is 3.5 mph
...

The Proform 8.5 Personal Fitness Trainer is a great treadmill to use at home. Proform give out the option to have a mechanic come to your home to assemble for an extra fee, but my boyfriend assembled my treadmill for me. It was relatively easy to put together. It took us over one hour to assemble. Once it was ready, I was able to use the display to set my workout. There are large speed and incline buttons to manually set those controls. There are also preset workout cards that fit into a slot on the display, hence, the "personal trainer." You can plug in an MP3 which will play through speakers on the treadmill, and there is a fan. Of course, the display is not like the commercial grade treadmills at the gym, but the Proform Personal Fitness Trainer is surprisingly full of features. This machine is LOUD, so if you have a basement, it is better to use it there, otherwise, you'll disturb anyone in the room below. This Proform treadmill is very sturdy and durable and...
...

I really wanted to get me a treadmill so that I could start getting back into shape. I bought a Kathy Ireland manual treadmill that was manual. I thought to myself this is going to be pretty good and get me in shape fast cause you have to do it yourself. Well I was wrong to me it is harder to work out on it because you wear out a lot faster then what you do with an electric one. I think you should already be in shape before you even start on it. LOL I really would say that if you think that its a good thing for you then go for it and hope you enjoy it. It really does work and it doesn't take long on it to get into shape you just really need to be motivated.!
...

The Weslo Cadence C44 Treadmill is a good product. We bought it at Academy Sports and Outdoors. It was reasonably priced. I was so excited to get it home and get it set up. I set it up in the bedroom, I didn't use very much in there. I feared it would become an overpriced clothing rack. So, I moved it to the living-room to be in front of the Television. That worked for a little while, but only a couple of weeks. I just could not get into walking and not going anywhere. I tried Television, music, you name it. I think if I had a book on tape it might have held my interest a little longer. The treadmill is a little loud so you have to turn the television up to compensate. The treadmill is now folded up in our storage room collecting dust. Some day I will sell it to someone who can actually enjoy it. I guess I just prefer walking outside. But for those of you who enjoy treadmills, this is a good product, folds up easily and is not that exspensive. Plus, I'd sell you one pretty cheap:)
...

WESLO CADENCE G40 - ! This one works great! I have had Weslo Cadence G40 treadmill since three months now and it has been working great till now. I got this treadmill as a gift from my wife in last Christmas of 2008. I use it daily and work out for almost three continous hours. Which means I use is a lot and I dont see any sign of wear and tear yet. I have lost 50 pounds on it and I receommend this highly to everyone who want to loose weight by cardio excercise. This is good for winter time when I cant go out for walking. I have made my small gym at home and this one rules man. I am asked by many people who see a big difference in me and I give all the credit to my treadmill. It has a four training programs on it which works great. it concentrates on your whole body work out but need a lot of stemina. This one is very sturdy. It can also be folded when not in use, this is very helpful when you have a kid. I am very happy with my it and I recommend this to everyone who are planning to join...
...

JackieOh says "The NordicTrack C2050 Treadmill is great for home use!" about NordicTrack C2050

I decided on a NordicTrack C2050 treadmill due to the reputation of the company and the following features:

beginning price point (approx. $899)

Minimal noise

Ability to connect to iFIT.com

Ability to connect an MP3, CD, portable stereo, home stereo and computer

The treadmill does fold-up for storage

The display will show the calories and carbohydrates burned during a workout

Other displays are: speed, track progress, training zone, incline and odometer

1.75 HP Motor

Speed: 0-10 MPH

Incline: 0-12%

Treadbelt: 20X55"

CardioGrip Heart Rate Monitor

Water bottle/accessory holder

Built-in fans

Where you can run on this treadmill, I would not say that this model is the best for running.

I've had my treadmill for about 5 years and have yet to have it repaired. I've only had to adjust the belt once to tighten it.

If you are looking for a beginning treadmill, I would recommend the Nordic Track C2050.
...

I starting really getting active around April 2007 when I retired. I started out walking about a mile three times a day. When the season got cold it wasn't a lot of fun having to walk in the cold especially when it rained. I also did not like the idea of having to purchase a gym membership then having to drive to the gym three times a day if the weather was bad. So I decided that purchasing a treadmill was the thing to do so I checked out walmart's website and found this one was in my price range. It has several great characteristics, such as time walked, distance walked, and calories burned. I feel that the best feature is the distance walked but knowing how long I have been on the treadmill is also a great feature. I started out walking for 30 minutes three times a day just like I had been walking outside. I gradually raised the speed so that I was walking faster. I do not run on the treadmill due to my age.
...

I can't say enough about the treadmill. My husband and I really love the way it works, easy to use and get a work out at the same time. Easy on the knees, but does what it is supposed to, work us out. Being able to set the speed helps both of us, we can adjust for the way each of us wants to use it. Quiet so that you can watch tv or listen to music while you are working out. Does not interfere with someone else if they are in the room at the same time. Rolls easily so it can be moved to one side of the room or the other. When you are using it, you do not even know that you are working out that is how good it makes you feel. Easy to balance on and the size of the walking area is a plus. Not one of those little slim walking areas that you are afraid you are going to step off of. Both of us are hoping this will help use reach our goals.
...

I really love to ride a treadmill. Treadmills help you lose weight. When you ride a treadmill you are going to get tired. You only get on a treadmill and ride it when you have to start it manually, because if you don't most likely you are going to fall. Treadmills can be dangerous. Dangerous is bad. Being in a state of mind that is dangerous you are not in a good frame of mind. Being in a good frame of mind help the idea of excersise. Going for the best frame of mins is good because of the great benefits. It's all in the type of things you walk in the gym wanting to do. If you walk in and already tired then that work out for that day will not go well. I know people don't want to work out but it feels so good to know that people are excerciseing because excesising is good for not only the body but also the soul. Loving to exsercise is not bad in fact it's good, but when you have good and positive influence you know that's the best influence in the world.
...

I love my c2300 Nordic track treadmill! I purchased it 3 months ago from Craigslist and got it for a super price. The cushioning grommets (i think that is what they are called) slipped a little and it caused the board to creak and crack when I walked, but it was easily adjusted by my husband. I have been jogging and running on this treadmill at least 5 times a week since I got it and love the different programmed runs. (there are 4) the inclines and speed are challenging but I keep building stamina. Definately reccommend:-)

The Gold's Gym Trainer 550 is a Gem! This treadmill is exactly what you need for the price you pay. For roughly $500 you get an event trainer, weight loss programs, heart monitor, calorie counter and distance tracker all in one machine! I love my treadmill! What I love most about my treadmill is that I never get bored with it. Every workout is different. One day I might do an uphill walk for thirty minutes, and the next day I might do the weight loss program! I have learned that you don't have to get bored with a treadmill workout if you have the right treadmill. Prior to buying the machine, my friends would say, "I don't like treadmills because I like to do different exercises." With my treadmill I do many different exercises. For example, if you put the machine on a low pace and walk in the opposite direction, you give the back of your thighs a great workout! Also, if you hold in your tummy while you walk on a high incline, you will get a tremendous ab workout. The bottom line...
...

I have had this treadmill for over a yr now and like many others i first bought it with the idea i would be in great shape, lose weight, use it on a daily basis because it was there for convenience. Well, reality struck me about having it for just over a few months. It started to be more like a coat rack, im sure many others can relate to this. Well, I recently have started back up again after almost a yr. I got it all cleaned up and out of the corner, took off all the coats lol and started walking. Well, after sitting for so long i wasnt sure how it was going to be, still all in great shape, not me the treadmill.

I love the proshoxmax cushioning that is has, you can really tell a difference. I also love the idea of the key to attach to yourself so if for someone reason something goes wrong, when it is pulled, that is it, it will shut off. But i wish there was a more permanant key, im afraid to lose it and if i do, it wont run without it. I understand the safety part, but it would be nice...
...

We purchased this Smooth Fitness treadmill about 18 months ago in Dec of 2007. We used it infrequently at first and then (and still now) every day, multiple times a day. It has held up great. It has many functions - can register your heart rate via handles or wireless chest strap, inclines up to 15, and calories/time/HR target settings. Plus, the motor is powerful and has a lifetime warranty.

We've had a few small issues but Smooth's customer service has been VERY helpful and accommodating. The main issue was we were not aware to keep the wheel lubricated with silicone so the build up of static electricity caused the heart rate strap not to register on screen properly. Again, customer service helped us with the issue and sent a replacement part at no cost. Now, the only nuisance is that it is noiser and a bit "squeaky" when running on it. Otherwise, it seems like a "like new" piece of professional gym equipment.
...

I am writing a review for the New Balance 1600 treadmill. It is a wonderful treadmill that does just about everything you need in a treadmill. It calculates calories, heart rate, miles walked or run, and has up to 10 programs that you can use to exercise your body. It inclines at the push of a button. It goes faster or slower with a push of a button. It has a book holder for reading. It also has extra large cup holders on each side of the panel, so you can put a large bottle of water. The fan is located right in the bottom center of the panel and hits you just right. It has a power button, stop button, and an off button. There is also an automatic button to set the incline as you are walking or running. It can store up to 4 people's workout routines. It calculates the calories burned by what weight you enter into the system. This treadmill is definately gym quality and just as big, but it also folds up for easy storage. I would highly suggest this machine.
...

pleroy says "Great treadmill for good price" about Horizon T1201

Great treadmill for a good price. Easy on the legs and has several training modes, plus you can save up to 4 workouts. I really like this feature because I can save different workout routines depending on the day, how hard I want to work or how much time I have. It also does very well in terms of impact adsorbency. I run 6 miles a day and never feel like it's straining my joints. The incline goes to 12, although I'd like it to go to 15. The display provides info about incline, speed, calories burned, time, distance and heart rate. There's also an ipod docking station and speakers, which is quite impressive given the size of the speakers. It's a little heavy and awkward, but pretty simple to fold up and store or move out of the way. I'd recommend the extended home service warranty, as they can be very expensive to fix. I haven't used mine, but have been told it's no hassle and they come to the house to fix it.
...

My husband and I bought this treadmill in December 2007 and use it in our basement. My husband uses it much more frequently than I do because I have a gym membership with a friend (we go after work on our way home). I do, however, use the treadmill on the weekends when I am at home. This was not a cheap treadmill. It is gym quality and we certainly paid for that quality. But with that price comes the assurance that we can run on it and not worry about it breaking three months after we bought it. I appreciate that it comes with the chest strap to monitor heartrate because that means I can swing my arms and/or pump some iron (small hand weights) while walking. It is a bit louder than I would have wanted. In order to watch TV while on the treadmill, we have to turn the volume up quite loud, so the basement door needs to be kept shut so as not to disturb others in the house. I also wish the reading rack was a bit more substantial...I can't seem to read anything more than a...
...
