After my third child, I wanted a quick way to get into shape. And after having a December baby, I wanted to be able to do some running and be indoors without having to go to a gym or club. The answer was to buy a treadmill. We looked at several stores in our town and found some that were reasonably priced but not many options. They didn't have the automatic incline. To have to stop and do it manually was not something I wanted to have to do all the time. We finally came accross the one by Gold's Gym and I was quickly eager to buy it. It was a purchase we never regretted. I started using it right away and it has helped me to loose alot of weight. It also was a great aid in helping me train for my first ever marathon which was 13 miles. I loved all the options...built in workout plans, fan, automatic incline, adjustable speeds, timer and heart rate monitor. Sure there are top of the line fancy but this is everything I will ever need. Good quality and greatly priced. ...
...

javajo says "quality that lasts" about Weslo Cadence c72

I purchased this product used and it has been around a while, that is why the review. I am very impressed with Weslo and its products. This treadmill is in good condition and still runs as well as it did new.

This treadmill has an electric incline--at a touch of the button it wil allow you to choose the percentage of incline you want. It also shows you how fast you are going--miles per hour, the number of calories you are burning and with the use of thumb sensors, it can tell you what your heartrate is.

This machine is sturdy and well built. It is quite a large machine and takes up plenty of space, but it folds easily and can be moved around because it has wheels.

There is an emergency shut off--in fact, you cannot start the machine even accidently until you have inserted the emergency shut off key; no need to worry about little ones touching the buttons and starting it up and getting hurt.
...

We all have those days when we just don't want to leave the house . That is why treadmills are great. Every one in the family can use one. Sometimes when its raining you don't want to run but exercise is important and we need . Trust me i hate running in the raining and in the winter. My body cant handle the cold so i run on the treadmill. t is super duper safe and if you have obese children this will get them exited and they too want to work out. you can watch tv listen to music and even read a book while your not the treadmill because only your legs are moving not your whole body but you still get alot of exerciser same as runnig. SO have fun and you dont have to leave the house totally worth it and it tells you how many calories nad how may fat calories and how many miles and what speed your going. it is also very safe. ...
...

I PURCHASED A BOWFLEX TREADCLIMBER APPROX. 2 YEARS AGO. THEY HAD 3 KINDS TO CHOOSE FROM. A FAIRLY EXPENSIVE ONE, A MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AND A CHEAPER VERSION. i PURCHASED THE MIDDLE ONE. THEY ALL PRETTY MUCH WORK THE SAME. THERE ARE ONLY A FEW DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THEM SO IT WASNT WORTH IT FOR ME TO PURCHASE THE MOST EXPENSIVE. IT HAD A FEW MORE GADGETS THAT I HAD NO INTENTIONS OF USING SO THE EXTRA SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS WASNT WORTH PAYING. IT STATES THAT IT WORKS BETTER THAN THE AVERAGE TREADMILL IN HALF THE TIME. I ABSOLUTELY AGREE. I HAVE A REGULAR TREADMILL THAT I WORK OUT ON FOR ONE HOUR, 5 DAYS A WEEK. I DID EVENTUALLY LOSE WEIGHT BUT WHEN I STARTED DOING THE BOWFLEX, I WORKED OUT FOR 1./2 HOUR 5 DAYS A WEEK AND FELT THAT IT WORKED JUST AS WELL, IF NOT BETTER. I ALSO HAD IT ON AN INCLINE WHICH MADE IT SOMEWHAT HARDER BUT IT GAVE ME THE SAME RESULTS AS THE REGULAR TREADMILL. JUST LIKE ALL MY OTHER EQUIPMENT, I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE USED TO HANG MY CLOTHING ON BUT...
...

I recently bought this mat from Target, for only 40.00. At first i thought that was to much money to pay for a simple mat, but now i am convinced that it is worth it. This mat does exactly what it claims, saves the carpet and reduces some treadmill noise. Measure carefully! The mat was about 1/2 inch too narrow. We liked the quality and just decided to use it anyway. In the picture it looks brown but it is really black. My main concern about getting a mat was odor. But this one is pretty much odor-free. It is well worth the price.
...

I was always someone who wanted an exercise equipment in my home. It's not that i didn't have enough room to get it, or anything like that, i was just scared that i'd become like everyone else that i know who has a home gym. They eventually get tired of it. I didn't wnat to spend so much money on something that in a ocuple of months i would just get tired of doing the same thing, and let it collect dust. Or even worse, like what happened to my friend, its now where she hangs her clothes after she irons them. So one day i decided id risk the chance of getting tired of my investment and i went out shopping for treadmills. Me and my boyfriend went to every store imaginable and compared prices and tested out just about every machine or treadmill that particular store had. I particularly in every single store was always not only drawn to the bowflex machines, but they indeed attracted me the most and it is ultimately what i purchased. I could not have been happier.
...

junk1564 says "Great treadmill for the price" about Proform Crosswalk 375 E

A few years ago I was very interested in getting a treadmill that I could use so that I could stay active during the winter or when I just didn't want to go outside to walk. I found this treadmill at a Sears sale for about $400, which I think it a good deal for the treadmill. Some pros include:

1. It folds up for storage

2. Electric - it pushes me to maintain speed when I feel tired

3. Displays calories burned, distance, time, and speed

4. Goes from .5 - 10 mph

5. Has 2 programs

6. Has an emergency stop attachment

7. Inclines

8. Above the digital display is an area to rest a book and has a place to put a drink next to the reading holder

9. Has lasted over 4 years with no problems thus far

Some cons are:

1. Even folded it is still quite large

2. It is very heavy

3. There's no indication of different levels of inclination

4. Includes no heart rate monitor

5. Only 2 programs to follow (and they're quite advanced - at least for me, but I am not a runner)
...

This treadmill is an amzing multi purpose tool. There are all kinds of preprogrammed routines that you can pick from. In addition, you can pick the difficulty level as well as the length of time you wish use it it for. The routines are geared to the type of workout that you want to do. If you pick on of the routines, the controls automatically cycle through all the controls so you can see your progress. The controls include, the distance, time used, calories burned, METS and heartrate. I love the look of the controls. They are large and easy to see. There is also a place to put your book which is really nice. the feature that I really love the most is the incline feature. You can make the incline go up to a 15. this is great because it intenisifies your calorie burn. The treadmill is low impact so it is not hard on your knees or ankles. I would highly reccomend it to anyone who needs to exercise but does not have enough strength to do a more strenous exercise.
...

The NordicTrack E3200 treadmill is the best treadmill I ever owned. I have owned several and this one is the top pick for me. Love the dual fans. Nice to get a breeze when you are cooler off. The cup holder is great to grab a quick drink of water from. The belt has the right give so it is easy on the knees. Excellent and easy access to the speed and incline buttons. Easy fold up storage for when your workout is over. Never have a problem with my belt getting off center. I have the extended warranty and well worth it for people that use their equipment daily. More than paid for itself with replacing a new belt and parts that were wore out from heavy use. Easy to keep clean and oiled the belt. Nordic has been a great company to deal with if you have any questions. Sent me free oil to keep my machine in tip top shape. It is great to have a well known brand still make a good product.
...

somu says "I have been using this from 2 years. It works great" about Horizon Horizon T91

First, the T91 Treadmill is backed by one of my favorite fitness equipment manufacturers, Horizon Fitness. I like Horizon Fitness because they have an excellent customer service track record. The features are the best you'll find on a treadmill in this price range. The Horizon T91 Treadmill is built with a 2 horsepower motor that reaches a maximum speed of 10 MPH. Careful when you're comparing horsepower, look for the Continuous Duty rating rather than the Peak Duty rating. Lower end treadmills usually showcase peak duty horsepower ratings to trick consumers in to thinking they're getting a high quality treadmill for a couple hundred bucks. (Trust me; the people that buy those shoddy pieces of junk almost always regret it.) Treadmills rated at less than 2 Continuous Duty Horsepower are only good for walking or tripping.

I want to talk a little bit about the construction of the Horizon T91 Treadmill before I end this review and dole out my final rating. Horizon Fitness is known for producing...
...

We have owned the Crosswalk 650 treadmill by Gold's Gym for a year and a half now. It is very durable and has held up nicely. We have used it mainly for walking with a small amount of running. It works beautifully and is simple to use. I think the preset workouts are too difficult so I prefer to set the incline and speed as I go. Both the speed and incline/decline are automatic so no manually setting the height! The speed settings are very easy to control with just the touch of 1 button. The belt has a tension control to compensate for weight and/or running. The hand bars are easy to adjust and are nice to help me keep steady. It's really easy to fold and stays put and out of the way. Some drawbacks are it is VERY heavy and will take two people (at least) to carry it and set it up. The instructions for setup leave a lot to be desired. But, we took it slow and step by step and it took about one and a half hours. Overall, we're really happy with the investment. ...
...

The Bowflex TreadClimber is all the cardio machine you need. It can be a basic treadmill (but more on that later), or it can be a stair-stepping treadmill.

The TreadClimber has a belt for each leg, and each belt is connected to the machine via an adjustable shock absorber. This attachment allows the treads to move up and done as you walk forward. The effect is like climbing stairs or a hill. The workout will kick your butt.

If you don't want the stair-step mode, you can lock the treads so they become a stationary treadmill. Except the Treadclimber treadmill has a separate tread for each leg.

Easy to use electronic controls.

Cons:
The adjustment for the shock absorbers (that increases the workout intensity) seems pretty, well, general. I notice increased tension, but I'd like a more precisely calibrated way to adjust the exercise level.

The machine itself is very heavy, and so, although it does have rollers on the front that allow you to move it a la wheelbarrow style, it's difficult...
...

Hello! I love my Life Fitness treadmill. I run every morning and think this treadmill is great, even better than some of the ones at my local 24 Hour Fitness Gym! I switched shifts so I cancelled my gym membership and decided to buy my own home gym...I did not have that much room in our spare room so I looked for a treadmill and bike that would take up little space. After reading reviews on Consumer Reports and Treadmill Dcotor I decided to buy the TR 2000-HRC treadmill. I love it! I can go uphill and downhill, it is super quiet and it gives me the same running surface size as the other treadmills I was looking at but does not have the hood in the front (which I always kicked at the gym!) and takes up more than a foot less space! I have been using it for about 2 months now 4 to 5 days per week and would recommend it not only for the small size but for the quality! I purchased this treadmill based on the awards and TV shows that I saw this unit featured for its small footprint. I have limited...
...

My husband and I purchased this treadmill for indoor running over the winter months. I am the primary user and weigh 115 lbs. I have used this product for one winter and one summer and it has just started to make some loud noises when I start running on it, but they don't seem to be abnormal and do go away after a few seconds. The weight capacity of this treadmill is 275 lbs. This treadmill folds up for easy storage in a closet, but I leave mine unfolded. Every 6 months or 150 miles it is recommended to lubricate the running belt, which I have only done once so far. This process is easy and the maintenance manual clearly shows how to do this. The lubricant is provided with the purchase of the treadmill, and has enough product for 2 uses - only use lubricant provided by Horizon Fitness. I rarely use the built-in programs, but they would be helpful to spice up a workout. I also rarely use the incline function, but this is also a neat feature available. I have truly enjoyed...
...

hawaii2484 says "I lost 70lbs!!!" about NordicTrack c2500

Review:

I lost 70 lbs. with the NordicTrack c2500.

In the beginning, i changed my diet drastically and gradually began using the treadmill (because I was really out of shape and didn't want to overexert myself). Now I eat whatever I want until I am full - not stuffed - and keep my weight off by using the treadmill 4 to 6 times a week.

The treadmill has 12 pre-programed sessions (6 of them are geared towards weight-loss), a race against the computer program, and the iFit feature. However, I don't use any of these programs. I run for 20 minutes at 6mph, then walk with 1lb. hand weights for 25 to 30 minutes at 4.5mph. I watch TV/movies while I work out and I find this helps the time pass. Hey, if I'm going to watch TV anyways, why not do it while getting exercise!

I love that it has instant speed and incline push starts, a 2 speed fan, reading rack, ipod dock, heart rate monitor, two cup holders, and it's a space-saving treadmill! The fans are a huge plus because many...

...

Cliff77 says "Very disappointed!" about Proform 8.5 Personal Fitness Trainer

I bought my Proform 8.5 Personal Fitness Trainer Treadmill in Dec 2008 and by May of 09..my belt was slipping. I tried to fix myself with the horrible directions in the User Manual and tightened the bolt to wear a metal brace broke! So being under warranty I ordered the part and the same problem still! So after a few months I decided to call Proform...who I had a very difficult time reaching an actual CSR to help me. They then set up a repairman to come out. I've just had my machine fixed today and the repairman told me that I'd need frequent servicing because I used my machine for "running" instead of walking!! So I will now have to purchase an extended warranty and expect to shell out $50bucks approx every 5 months because the belts will wear out after use! My last Proform treadmill lasted me 7-8 yrs until the motor burned out, but it seems that this company has gone completely downhill and turning out very cheap equipment. If you want a good treadmill that will last...
...

brittany6685 says "ProForm 735C is a very durable treadmill." about Proform 735C

The ProForm 735C is a great treadmill. It comes with programs already installed and also is equiped with iFit, which is a program that is tailored to you specifically and can get off the internet. It goes from very slow to very fast in a matter of seconds and also inclines and declines quickly. This treadmill also is a fold up style treadmill so it will leave you some space in your home. It also comes with wheels on it to help you move it along. It has the heart sensors and also tells you how many calories you've burned and the fat calories as well. This treadmill also comes with a feature that shows you how far you've gone and have left to go out of a mile. It lights up and goes around in a circle until you've reached a mile and then starts back over. I found that feature to be very helpful when I was tired of walking but I could see if I do just a little bit more I can finish that last mile. The only bad thing I have to say about this treadmill is that it was a bit...
...

I love my treadmill. It is portable that I can roll it around anywhere in my house. Just in case company is coming I can roll it away in a closet. yet it is attractive enough to leave set out if you have no where to store it. I love the auto shut off if you would happen to fall off of it. All you have to do is attach the string to your belt etc which will disconnect if the treadmill gets away from you. lol Sometimes I will get distracted and forget to step just in time which will cause me skip a beat on my stepping and I will kind of stumble. However, because it has the great grip bars that read your pulse, etc they are also a safety feature for me. They keep me from falling off when I "skip a beat". It is so easy to move with the front wheels. All you do is fold it up, tip it back and push or pull away. It really is that simple. Also, after a while when you need to adjust the tread on it all you have to do is turn a screw on the bottom side which is easily reached,...
...
