PattyTherre says "Cute and pink but do women REALLY need their own weights?" about Everlast for Her 3-Pound Easy Grip Weights

Quick View: I generally lift heavier weights but I have a few very fast-paced cardio workouts that incorporate light weights into the routine. My heavy weights were simply TOO heavy for me to do the workouts and not screw up my form. I decided three pound weights would be perfect. Instead of just buying simple weights, I went for girly pink ones. These are fine but really, I would be just as happy with unisex, no frills weights.About Everlast for Her 3-Pound Easy Grip Weights — These come in various weights and are sold separately. I didn't realize at first that I needed to buy two. For some reason I thought they came in pairs. They are very bubble gum pink and shaped like B. I tried to look at them as shaped like an E for Everlast but they aren't. Whatever. The hand grips have little finger ridges to get a good grip and they are covered with vinyl which feels good in my hands. — The vinyl soon gets slippery though when my hands sweat and I had to invest in another pair...

Over the winter, I got lazy and ended up gaining some weight. I tried to lose it on my own but just couldn't stick to a diet. Finally, on my birthday, I decided to give myself a present and went to Jenny Craig Weight Loss Center. I am a lifetime member so I am able to go in without paying a registration fee and only pay for the food. While I was there, I noticed a pair of Jenny Craig 2 lb. Hand Weights. These weights actually go on your hands like a glove and are perfect for adding resistance while walking. I bought a pair for around $22 and absolutely love them! — About these weights... — These 2 lb. weights consist of a comfortable, durable neoprene lining that contours to your hand shape. The Hand Weight is secured with two Velcro wrist straps and one Velcro palm strap. The need to grip or hold weight is eliminated. One size fits all and they are hand washable. — What I think...

These are great for weight training, however I think there should be a little better grip to them. Maybe a rubber handle of some sort. Also the middle is really small and makes them hard to hold. Great price, but you get what you pay for. My wife has smaller hands, so they are easer for her to hold, but it does mess her hands up cuz the grip on these things suck. —...

A year ago my husband decided it was time to "get in shape" so he decided to buy a Bowflex. — — He searched through the internet and without asking my opinion or letting me take a look around, he purchased one. Mind you now, he picked a nice model and several attachments and ended up paying $1500 for the unit and delivery. (he's not one for research) So you can see I wasn't a very happy camper about that! — — Anyway, we decided to workout together every other night. We stuck to this plan. He was able to use more weights after the first week but not me. I quickly lost interest, but used it faithfully for 6 weeks. — — Not really seeing the improvements I wanted, I stopped. My husband uses it maybe once every week or two. The newness wore off pretty quickly. — — I guess if you are really into exercising and body toning, then the Bowflex is just right for you. Just remember to shop around and be sure this is what you want. It's a lot...

I got this about 6 weeks ago. Already I'm starting to see noticible results. I work out for about 30 minutes 4 dayts per week. This is not the type of gym to add bulk, but more tone. I've worked out at gyms for years w/ free weights and this is just as good. My only complaint would be that the weight is not the same as free weights. My only complaint would be that I have already maxed out the 210 lb weights w/ leg press, lat pull down & bench press and will have to get the 310 lb add-on really soon. The weights do not really match up to regular free weights (I can lift 210 lbs with some effort on the bowflex whereas 210 lbs free weight is a struggle). —...

I liked this trainer when I first saw it because it does not take much space, is compact and can easily fit under a bed. I like the training as well but soon found it boring as there is no way to change the resistance of the training so that you can increase the intensity of your training and gain more out of it. This is really lacking and that is why I don't use it much anymore more. They could do without the calory counter but allow for variation in the level of resistance training you want. I found it easy to use while watching TV so that I would not get bored with it. Not a bad machine just lack the various level in...

I owned this one for a short time and it worked okay for about a month. I definitely did not get the results in my legs I expected. The motions were not as smooth as I hoped. The calorie counter was pretty much useless as it did not seem very accurate at all . The tension knob broke after a month so I was unable to adjust that ( it had no tension at all). I had to use it with an old rug because the stepper left constant grease stains on my carpet. The video that came with it was alittle cheesy and the stepper also got and it was alittle rough on my knees. —...

Although nice to use, it is far too light for most users, other than the aerobic crowd. May be combined with circuit training, though to provide a nice energy burn. The rack is nice but with limited floorspace, it quickly gets in the way, especially if not in use. For such a light set of weights, a wall hanger would be ideal. Other than the weight and handling issues, the bells are nice to use on a regular basis and would be ideal for the older set as well as the aerobic...

To the Point — — I've been using the Hoist 4600 Multi Station Gym for about 5 years now in Florida. There is a small fitness room in our condo. I love this machine. I target it for those who are not body builders but who want to work their muscles in an easy manner. Using a machine is the easiest way to work out and quite effective. — — A Closer View — — The new and at retail price is in the $7,000 range but since it's been around for awhile I found it on sale and used in the $2,000 range. Not a whole lot can go wrong with this machine. It' is great if you have a warranty but if you don't I can tell you that nothing has ever been wrong with the Hoist and in all these years of use there are no tears in the nicely padded vinyl that all the stations have. The warranty for home use for the frame is a lifetime warranty; 10 years for moving parts, paint, cables and upholstery. It comes with a large placard that visually shows you how to do each...
