After working out in the gym five days a week for over a year, I had to have surgery & couldn't get back to my regular routine right away, so my husband bought me the WesloMomentum 610 Elliptical Trainer to use until I could get back in the gym. I was a little skeptical when he first brought it home, I thought it would be too flimsy & just wouldn't be the same as the machines in the gym. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was very sturdy, with a smooth glide and excellent digital readout of miles per hour, calories burned, etc., along with a heart rate moniter. This is a great machine that takes up little space and is lighter than you would expect so it makes it easy to move around. I have now had this machine for over a year and I haven't been back to the gym since. The WesloMomentum has all the qualities of the larger machines in the gym and is perfect for everyday use in your home while giving you the same results as your gym membership at a fraction of the cost.
...

This product is and always will be wonderful, it helped me get motivated enough to want to get up and start my workout everyday. I enjoy walking on my elliptical usually Thirty to Sixty minutes per day about Four to Five days per week. I got my elliptical cross trainer about two years ago, and since i've gotten in the routine of using it regularly I look and feel much healthier! I've lost a total of 20 pounds so far with my cardio workout along with a diet. I highly recommend this machine to anybody who needs a boost!
...

This machine is not what I expected at all. I thought this was going to be an easy switch from walking out in the rain and cold for the winter. No, not at all, with this machine I have had really great workouts. Each program is different, some easier than others, which I started at a more aggressive program thinking that I was in shape, and had to go down to the easier programs just to hang in there. Now building the strength and endurance I need, I can advance to whichever level I chose for that day. The resistances are great too. The only part I do not feel suits me is that in the programs, you can go as hard and as fast as you want for a harder workup, but it shows you what speed to be going and it is super slow sometimes, like slow motion. I feel that sometimes these should be followed for warm up and warm down, but sometimes a little unnecessary. Overall an excellent machine for the motivated and for those that want the comfort of an indoor workout.
...

I purchased the BoFlex Tread Climber after watching countless commercials for it on television. Although it is fairly expensive it was very easy to open a BoFlex credit card with financing to make the purchase, and they offered $500.00 off the price! The machine did take longer than expected to arrive (approximately five weeks). It came in 3 large boxes, which were very heavy and needed two men to carry in the house and unload. The directions were understandable, which made it easier to put together despite that you had to really manuever to get into some small areas. I ordered the TC5000 model and must have misread the description because I did think that it was meant to fold up, however it does not. It came with a wonderful workout book that I followed and successfully lost twenty-three pounds in five weeks prior to my wedding! A pro is that it does come with a heart monitor so that you can make sure you're not overly exerting yourself. It is a little louder than I...
...

I have owned an Octane elliptical for the past 6 years. It has been a dependable, durable piece of equipment that has worked well to help me achieve my fitness goals. I was previously a treadmill owner, but developed foot problems from overuse that prohibited me from continuing to use it. With the Octane elliptical, I have been able to exercise five days a week for over a year without experiencing any pain in my feet or knees. Unlike some other ellipticals that I have used in gyms, I do not experience numbness in my feet. I have used all of the eight programs, which has allowed me to change up my routines. This has prevented me from becoming bored with the workouts. I have been able to increase the resistance level over time as my fitness has improved. Some of the less desireable characteristics of the machine are that the display of calories burned cannot be adjusted for gender, which decreases the accuracy. However, this is probably true of many exercise machines. I...
...

I use this particular elliptical machine several times per week to help me lose weight. It is very durable and has many features. I like the fact that it has a place for me to put my cell phone, as well as my ipod, and a place for a water bottle too! It's very sturdy and really worth the money. I would highly recommend purchasing this product, it truely is a wonderful investment in your health. The precor has variable stride lengths, and it works all major lower body muscles. Ladies: This machine will tighten your glutes and you will no longer have thunder thighs! Also, it's an amazing cardio workout as well. I used to hate working out, now I look forward to it. I invested in a different elliptical machine a few years back, and it became a coat rack in my house because it just didn't seem sturdy enough. This machine is WELL worth the cost. My sister has also purchased one for her home too!
...

I don't like to work out that much, but when I do I use the LifeFitness elliptical machine. I feel like I get a good workout on the machine and don't get the sore knees that comes with running. I can definitely tell that I'm not putting a lot of strain on my joints by using the elliptical rather than a treadmill. What I don't like is that sometimes it takes awhile to read my heart rate on the hand rails, and once in awhile, it doesn't read my heart rate at all. I like that it has a quick start, so I don't have to worry about wasting time programming it and instead can just start working out and hit the quick start. I like that it tells me calories burned and distance covered. I do feel that the elliptical is a bit unsteady- not like it's going to tip over or anything, but more that some of the materials may not be the most expensive. I could see a cup holder popping off or something. Generally, I like it and would recommend it.
...

This is a wonderful eliptical. It is the only one I have ever earned, so I can't compare it to others on the market, but in my experience it is sturdy and well made. It has definately put up with my abuse so far and I've owned it for a little over 3 years.

Every part feels sturdy and has held up without any major wear. The hand grips are in great shape, the foot pads still look new and everything still moves smoothly. It's just about time to go through the process of servicing the thing from a lubrication standpoint as it's getting a little squeaky in the wheels that move along the rails that run towards the back of the machine.

The chest strap/heart rate monitor is still going strong without the need to have the battery replaced as of yet. It is very steady in measurement and very accurate.

The only thing to be aware of is that it is built for someone with a longer stride...I'm 6' 3" and that's the reason I chose this model, as I needed something that wouldn't make me feel like...
...

My husband bought me the Horizon H Series Model E5 Elliptical workout machine and I love it! I had another model before this one for a week and we returned it to the store, the Horizon is a lot better in the performance department. It has a heart rate monitor and I always make sure my heart rate is in the target fat burning range when I do my workouts.

This machine was easy to assemble but my husband did need my assistance to hold a part up while he screwed it in. It rides so smooth and measures the distance and calories burned. It also has harder levels to increase the resistance, I don't use those because I am not trying to build muscle yet, just burn off the 3 fruitcakes I accidentally ate.

I got my machine from Sam's club and it was under $500, a very good value. Anything less won't be worth the effort because some machines can only hold a certain amount of weight, this machine can hold up to 300 pounds and won't tip over. I like that it has handle bars to hold on to and also other...
...

This machine is absolutely, 100 percent, the easiest to understand and use machine you can buy. I would have given it all the stars, except for the fact that the assembly was a little complicated. I have a 3 year old little girl and a five year old little boy who absolutely love this machine! they play on it like a standing swing and exercize at the same time. One of my favorite features is that it is very quiet, so I can use it and watch tv at the same time. I also really love the cup holder because you do not have to stop to get a drink. The hydroulic system is optional and very quick and easy to activate. Once you do, you will really love the burn you can get in your muscles from using that function. I am also very impressed with how easy it is to vary your workout by just changing your stance or arm poisitioning. Depending on where you buy the system it could come with either a dvd or booklet showing different ways to use the Gazelle SprintMaster.
...

The image 8.25 elliptical trainer shows amount of reps, heartrate, calories burned, etc. My only problem with this machine is that it is rough on your knee joints if you are not used to running, climbing, or used to using them in this way. For someone who isn't used to doing regular exercise this can be really tough. I got this as a gift, and wouldn't trade it for the world. So, it has its good and bad points. Only uses 4 double A batteries, and is really handy to have rechargeable ones if you intend to use it a lot. This machine can even be used by a child as long as they are supervised by an adult. The pedals are easy to move with your feet and legs, but you can also use your arms to help them along. My 5 and 4 year old love to get on this and exercise. I just hope they continue to like exercising when they get older. This is a good starter machine. You can go at your own pace without having to worry about falling off like you would on a treadmill.
...

This is one tuff machine. You literally feel like you are climbing a moutain. This machine has many different settings so you can mix things up as much as you want to. What I don't like about this machine is the placement of the bottle holders and for other micellanous things. It is a far reach if you are a book or magazine reader and want to turn the page or when you want to change settings on the machine it feels like you really have to stretch your arms out to reach the controls. It could be that I have short arms, but I don't think so. You can really feel the machine working your quads and glutes. The machine has a great range of motion. You can go from feeling like a casual walk or like you are running a marathon up hill to the highest mountain. You can also change the direction of pedaling from forward to reverse to get that momentum broken up a bit. I think this machine is a fantastic bank for your buck!
...

The Nordic Track E7 SV Elliptical Trainer was our most favorite Elliptical Trainer we tried and we tried a bunch of them at many different stores including strictly exercise stores, bike/exercise stores and department stores, sporting good stores. We bought it at Sears and it was on a great buy and still is. We were very grateful to find it because my husband has bad knees and every other Elliptical Trainer we tried hurt his knees. What we found with this model is the compactness and the fact that you don't have a wide stride on the pedals. The stride is very walkable where you don't feel like you have to split your legs wide apart to use it which really adds to knee and hip pain. The stride also is fairly flat so you don't feel like you have to strain your knees up and down like the old stairsteppers. The handlebars move to give you a great upper body workout. There are 8 different programs to pick from. I try a different one each time I use it. There is a manual elevation button as...
...

So, as I turned the big "34" I decided that it was time to start getting myself back into shape. I have done a LOT of research on many ellipticals, and the purchase/research of this elliptical was DEFINATELY WORTH IT!!

I appreciate that fact that this is built to last. The weight capacity is higher than most (except for the sole', which is way more expensive!). The stride is perfect for me (i am 5 7) as well as the multitudes of programs that it offers.

This machine is great for working your whole body, especially your lets and arms. It has a lot of settings, one for reach of calories, two target time, three target heart rate, etc. It also has a strip on the handle to keep track of your pulse and heart rate. It also has an intensity and how hard or easy levels you want to set it to. It's good for all ages and this is a good investment if you like doing your workout on an eliptical machine. My husband bought this for me because we are no where close to the gym, the closest gym would be 40 minutes away from the new place we moved to. I had to get my workout in so my husband bought me this eliptical machine back in Feb. 2009 for about $1,600 and I think it's worth every penny. I work out everyday between 30-45 minutes a day and I feel great after every workout. Plus I don't have to go far to workout and I'm actually saving money from a gym membership. I would recommend this product to every especially women.
...

I first looked into buying this machine on HSN over two years ago. I didn't end up purchasing it at the time, because of the reviews that the current customers posted. However, I became desperate to have some sort of physical fitness activity in my very busy worklife that kept me from the gym and I succumbed to the desperation; I purchased this machine in the earlier part of this year and don't regret it at all! It's sturdy, quiet and very easy to operate.

The StrideSelect 600 is perfect for a quick 20-minute workout before or after work...or a longer workout when you feel you need more of a pick-me-up and want to kick into a higher gear on your physical fitness plan. It even comes with an iFit card that has the voice of "Rhonda...your personal trainer." She's pretty nice and encouraging :)

I'd been wanting my own elliptical machine for a long time so that I could work out at my house when I didn't have time to go to the gym. So, I started researching different ones over the internet, but none were really the quality I was looking for or they were too expensive. I was at costco one day and decided to look in their fitness equipment, and thats where I found Nordic Track Elliptical machine. It was 800 dollars, and I took it home that night and put it together. It took about an hour and a half to assemble, but once it was together I tried it out right away. I was amazed, it was so much like the machines at the gym, and it was such a smooth ride to work out on. The only negative thing I would say about this machine is that it is very bulky and very heavy once put together, and you definately need a reasonly large area to put it. Make sure it's positioned exactly where you want it also, because once it is put together it's almost impossible to move unless you take...
...

ycamiy says "great bike" about Gold's Gym Maxx Rear Drive Elliptical

the gold gyms Maxx Rear Drive Elliptical is the easiest on your joints. I have knee problems, and there is no jarring. All in all very satisfied w/the purchase. Relatively easy install (a couple of hours), solid and sturdy product, and easy to use.
I did the Site-to-Store pick-up option and was a little upset at first that the Eliptical Machine wasn't a Golds Gym product but instead a ProForm SpaceSaver DX. It's the same machine I believe but just a different name.Runs on batteries. AC adaptor was included but no connection port was installed. Wheels are kinda squeaky, but they are rubber so that's probably normal. The program board takes a bit to get used to but once you do, its fine. The fan is useless, might as well not even exist.f When we set it up, lots of things didn't quite line up.

But, I am using it, and haven't had any major problems. It could be I'm just spoiled from using the ellipticals at my old gym. Overall though I would recommend.
...

h-u-x2 says "great for stretching and cooldown runs" about Gazelle Freestyle Edge

this machine is great for stretching, cooldown runs, long distance running, but not for anything else. There is no resistance so you cannot sterngth train, there is no handle resistanse so u dont work out ur arms much. very easy to balance on, fairly light, wide pedals aqnd a digital display. the pedals do not cycle and just move back and forth. making it great to just quickly hop on and use. Great for when your just waking up in the morning or taking a late night jog.

not a very safe thing for kids and even adults. there are shocks that heat up and burn you if you touch them, the digital monitor iant very durable, sometimes you may overstertch, and it is very easy to flip.

smccarth1968 says "If I could marry my octane I would - I love, love, love it! :)" about Octane Q37

My husband works in the fitness equipment industry (retail) so when I would visit him I would try out the Octane and dream of one day owning one myself. I even had the spot picked out in the basement. Then one day Octane ran a special promotion and we were able to get one for ourselves - and it's everything it promised to be.

1) Great small footprint - so it fits well in any-sized room

2) Nice smooth stride - some of the other ellipticals I've tried have a jerky motion

3) Great name brand - they stand behind their products

4) Excellent workout in a short period of time

I love that I can use the handles to increase my burn or go without on my "light" days. It has some great programs including random and hill. The cup holder is conveniently located and I also use it for the remote. It was easy to assemble - at least that's what my husband told me - ha!

Overall the Octane Q37 provides an excellent full-body workout - it's a great machine and it won't take up your whole basement like most other...
...
