I love being outside and doing work in the yard. We have a couple spots along our fence row that has poison ivy so it never fails, several times during the summer I break out in an itchy rash from being in contact with it. I often use benadryl extra strengh itch cream. It doesn't get rid of the itchy rash but it gives me temporary relief from the itch. In the summer I always carry some in my purse to have on hand when I need it. My boys also break out with the rash easily so I keep some in their camps bags as well. It is a great product to use for a poison ivy itch. It doesn't last as long as I would like but I constantly reapply it as needed. Easy to use on the go with no applying necessary. Just spray it on and your done!
...

lilsquibb says "Nalgene Narrow Mouth is by Far my Favorite Water Bottle" about Nalgene 16oz Narrow Mouth TRITAN Water Bottle - Filter For Good

In partnership with Brita, Nalgene has developed a line of water bottles to express one's commitment cutting down on personal waste by using re-usable sources, such as Brita water filters and Nalgene water bottles. Not too long ago, I received two new water bottles in a houseparty.com party pack. One of the included bottles was the 16 oz. Nalgene Narrow Mouth Tritan water bottle, in the Filter-for-Good décor. The timing couldn't have been better as I need to drink as much water as possible and the Tritan Narrow Mouth makes that just a touch easier.

Although the Tritan Bottle is recommended for extreme adventure, I pretty much use it while I'm at work. (That is an extreme adventure I'm sure it's not what Nalgene had in mind.) This BPA-Free water bottle holds 16 oz. of fluid and is green with a personal commitment statement as a going-green reminder. The bottle has printed graduations which are bright and easy to read for those wanting to know how much water they have had. ...
...

ML2007 says "Charmin To Go roll is a must" about Proctor & Gamble Company Charmin To Go

The Charmin Basic To Go roll of toilet paper is a must have for travelers or non travelers as well. I say this because even at nice fancy hotels and airports you will probably come across one of those restrooms where every stall is out or close to being out of toilet paper. Not to mention when you travel to foreign countries where hygiene and cleansiness in the bathroom is not top priority, especially public bathrooms. You can even put this tissue as a seat cover, if there's even a seat to put it on. Seriously though, the first time I used a restroom where there was no toilet paper, I was so relieved that I had stashed a roll in my purse just in case. And, not only did it get me out of a touchy situation, it was enough for one more person in my group to use it as well. The point is that this small 55 sheet roll goes a long way. Thank goodness for travel size toilet paper. Pop one in your luggage and one in your purse and you'll be glad.
...

I bought this air mattress for when my boyfriend and I go camping in the fall. We used to use a different Coleman queen sized air mattress but decided we need a little bit more versatility with it. So we bought this 5 in 1 unit. We has issues with the extra space in the tent when the old air bed was inflated. But with this new mattress we can use it as a couch with arm rests, a queen sized bed or a double high twin bed! It inflates quickly but I had some difficulty deflating it because of the pivot points. After a little pushing to redirect the air, it was easy to fold up and put away. It didn't come with a storage bag of any kind so we put it in it's own dedicated duffel bag along with a set of sheets and two inflatable pillows. Defiantly and easy pack to take with you for those spur of the moment trips. It does tend to get hot especially when there isn't any wind for the night. I also have some trouble keeping the sheets on the bed but with some corner sheet ties they stay on pretty...
...

My Coleman Queen Size air matress has really put me in the comfort zone camping! It is wonderful that all my standard sheets fit perfectly adn they do not "pull off" at night because of the wonderful suede top that keeps from feeling sticky and hot on the warm summer nights in Florida. I love the easy hands free inflation and ability to deflate. The double lock on the air valve keeps from unser inflating the matress and it holds aire wonderfully even on multi day trips. There is even a guaranttee against leaks! This matress rolls right up into its own carrying case and is easily stored. I open the airlock when I get done the night before and the matress is all ready to roll and pack up with out any trouble when I break down camp an hour or so later. I got a battery powered pump that takes 4 D batteries and I have used now many times over the last 5 months and have yet to have to change them out. It takes approximately 3-4 minutes and the matteress is sleep ready. I hope you enjoy yours...
...

If you buy this and other fire starter gimmicks with the intent to using them for camp fires, what you really need is a good lesson in building a fire outdoors. Using this stuff might get you off an running, but a good fire requires progression from spark to tinder to kindling to heavier wood as the heat builds. Just carry a Bic lighter. If you're in the woods, you'll find plenty of little light things to burn. After a while, add some bigger thing, and eventually you'll have a nice fire and you will have saved yourself the $3.98 that these dumb doo-dads cost.
...

Maybe I am getting old, but this pad and most other Therma Rests are just way to thin for my tastes. Even with a bit of air blown in for good measure, the pad doesn't provide enough comfort unless you happen to be lucky enough to be sleeping on a thick, well-manicured lawn in the first place. These days, I prefer a pad with multiple insulated chambers. Yes, you have to blow it up yourself, but if you're outdoors in the first place, what's the real problem with a few deep breaths?? I should add as well that this thing takes up a lot of room and is normally tied to the outside of a pack which can be a nuisance.
...

I use this bottle as a back up to my hydration pack. Once I drain the pack, I know I've got water to keep me going until my next refill. This bottle is indispensable and made of a quality that will last your life short of it being subjected to deliberate damage. What's more, unlike similar items by Camleback, Nalgene is made in the USA. Also a plus is the fact that the wide mouth mates perfectly with the MSR water filtration system. Simply twist the Nalgene bottle into the base of the MSR unit and you can pump pure water from most any source right into your bottle.
...

Jo says "Winchester Liner Lock Knife: we came face to face with a grizzly" about Winchester Liner Lock Knife 9435

We hike and carry supplies we hope will keep us safe or that we may need during our hikes. We bought a Winchester Liner Lock Knife 9435 last year for about $10.00. It is always on a clip on my husband's pack.

About the Winchester Knife

It is made of surgical stainless steel. The blade has a thumb stud for one hand opening. What this means is that there is a piece of metal coming out of both sides of the blade near the bottom which, if you are dexterous, can be used to open the knife with one hand.

It has what is called a notched thumb ramp. This is an area where I can hold the knife easily. it has the name Winchester etched into the blade.

The handle of Winchester Liner Lock Knife 9435 is 3 1/2 inches when closed and has wood inlays. There is a liner lock, a lanyard hole, and a metal pocket clip. The Winchester Liner Lock Knife is a tad over 6.05" when open and weighs 3.0 ounces. This is considered a small knife. There is no warranty.

Please explain

A lanyard hole is simply a hole...
...

The Coleman 48QT Cooler maintained the ice for about four days under the shade and kept out of the direct sunlight. Handles are strong, but seem a little flimsy, but were still able to carry this cooler with block ice and cubed ice combined with no problems, it held up well to all this and food and cans and bottles combined, you can sit on this cooler, would not recommend this however as the lid seemed to sink in when sat on, but popped back out again as soon as you get off of the cooler, I deffinitely would not recommend a heavy person sit on this cooler, I am small built and much lighter than some my age and it still sunk in when I sat on the lid, cooler was not damaged in anyway, this cooler also features a drain plug so you can pour out the melted ice water when needed which allows the cooler to feel much lighter.
...

Hi, I went camping with my sister and her boyfriend and it was fun. I had a good time and I feel that anything sown in dishonor will be raised in honor. Do not go alone because you will be killed maybe and there is darkness that overwhelms you. The people stood over me as I was sleeping and I just felt in my bones that they were murdering the owners out there just for the hell of it. I pray that anything sown in dishonor will be raised in honor about who was killed by the devil and the God not allowed to be entered in the life. I was baring my baby out there and it was fun. I tell you anything sown in dishonor will be raised in honor. I am going to purchase my own way next time with the way God is going to give me lead on what to do. Well, again go with fun loving people like I did and also praying people of the world. I love the way the fresh air feels when I do what I want to do out in the open.

This is a great product because it has a dual plug so while you have the pump still on you can close the main pump then turn of the air then close the second plug this way no air escapes and it is fully inflated! I had trouble with a previous one that i had to pull the air pump out and quickly insert the plug; a lot of air escaped from that.

This product was very inexpensive too for being a name brand product, only about 25 dollars or less for a full size! I would recommend this product to anyone who loves have sleepovers for their kids or any campers out there, or anyone who needs an air mattress for whatever reason.

jps246 says "The Brite Ice 10 Ice Pack Keeps my lunch cold" about Coleman Brite Ice 10 Reusable Ice Pack

When I'm using a small cooler and want to make sure what I have stays cold, I make sure to put in a Coleman Brite Ice 10 Reusable Ice Pack with my food. These ice packs are a small pack that can easily fit into most smaller coolers and it provides several hours of good cooling ability.

An ice pack really isn't more than a plastic container with a fluid inside that can be frozen and that's what what the Brite Ice 10 Reusable Ice Pack is. It holds about 10 ounces of fluid, which according to Coleman, is non-toxic should the container break. The ice pack is not that large and is the shape of a rectangle. It easily fits into the 8-quart cooler that I have.

When frozen, the ice pack will last for the better part of a day when you've got it in a small cooler and you're not opening and closing the cooler constantly. I find it's very easy to keep stuff cool from the morning to lunchtime, though later than that, and the cooling ability does tend to drop off quite quickly. I've used my Brite...
...

The Coleman Queen size air mattress is really good, but needs warnings. If you fill it up while it is hot outside the air compresses in the night when it is cooler and the mattress is no longer firm. However, if you fill it up while it is cool out, either late at night or first thing in the morning, the mattress will stay firm and will not leak.

Another thing you need to know about this mattress is that it gets cold while you sleep on it because the air in the mattress will get cold. You need to put some type of protective barrier between you and the mattress. Sleeping bags or emergency blankets work well for this, but a fitted sheet will not. Even on the warmest night you will feel cold because your body will lose heat due to the contact with the cold air.

Once you know these things about the mattress I highly suggest it. It made my camping experience a lot of fun and was really comfortable. Inflating it was really easy and so was deflating it. It is easy to carry, but...
...

i went cmaping for the first time ever a few weeks ago. My biggest fear was having to sleep on the ground, not getting good sleep. I have two kids. I need my energy and I need my sleep for that!!

My hubby and I are not small people....think about 500 combined pounds. Over a three night period, the mattress did lose some air, but not enough for us to get out the pump and add air.

Now, even better than that, was the price. Under $50!!! We purchased ours at WalMart. I was looking for a Coleman but settled for this since the Colemans were gone. I highly reccommend this product

It is sometimes nice to have a small cooler that you can keep a few drinks cold in while you're at the beach or when you're traveling. When I need something like that, I use my Coleman 8-Quart Cooler. This small cooler can comfortably hold half a dozen cans of soda with an ice pack or my lunch and an ice pack when I'm traveling somewhere and I need to keep my food cold. It's also small enough that it's easy enough to pack in your vehicle and the locking lid mechanism makes sure that the lid stays on securely to keep whatever is inside cold.

This is a tough cooler. It's survived drops and bangs without any problems and I've just thrown it in the back of my truck and it's done fine. There are a few dents and scratches, but no structural problems. The cooler is also pretty good at keeping things cold. It'll keep something that is cold, cold for several hours, more if you've added an ice pack. I like the locking lid on this cooler since I don't have to worry about the lid coming loose while...
...

gynn says "Great for Boy Scouts" about Coleman Queen Size air mattress

I have really come to appreciate our Coleman queen sized air mattress. It was amazing how comfortable my husband and I were on our weekend campout with the Boy Scouts. I think we would have had a lot of trouble blowing this huge air mattress up if we hadn't remembered to bring an air pump. Believe it or not, the air mattress was a breeze to inflate. We placed our sleeping bags on top of the inflated air mattress. We also used pillows that we brought from home. We were surprised to find that our air mattress had stayed inflated the entire night. We both slept soundly, athough, my husband and I did feel each other move during the night. We just had to remind each other that we were on an air mattress and not our queen sized mattress from home. After the campout, we were able to easily deflate the air mattress. It was an easy process. We just flattened the air mattress out section by section. Then, we folded the mattress in sections. Afterwards, we just popped the...
...

Jarod22 says "Coleman is the best in camping!!" about Coleman Camping Equipment

Coleman is the best in camping by far. Let me start off by first saying that they make tent, sleeping bags, propane stoves, fold up tables, first aid kits, anything you can think about in camping for sure and there a trusted brand. Ive used coleman stuff ever since my dad and his dad, so I know its time tested and approved. I currently own a tent from coleman,a flashlight, matches, sleeping bag, tent, first aid, Like I said you name it and they make it for camping. I highly recommend the coleman company for the best quality in camping.
...

jps246 says "Will provide light for a while, Emergency Candles from Coghlan's" about Coghlan's Emergency Candles

There's nothing special about the Emergency Candles from Coghlan's. They burn a while, but besides that, other than being available in most stores with an outdoor gear section I can't think of anything all that exciting. They do fit some models of candle lanterns, but you I think I think they are a bit wide for some of the lanterns.

I've used these candles a few times and they work well as a stand-alone candle, as a candle in a candle lantern, and as a candle at home during a power outage. I'm not sure they would fit in every candle lantern.

The candles are standard, white wax candles that are about 5 inches long and about an inch and a half in diameter. They have what looks to be a standard string wick. The candles are 'slow burning' and will last at least 8 hours if you continuously burn them.

The vast majority of the time I've had these candles, I've used them when car camping as a candle on the picnic table as it gets darker. I have gotten them to fit in one of my candle lanterns...
...
