addictedfisherman says "Great combo but the rod was not durable." about Shakespeare Microspin Spinning Combo

I always wanted an ultra-light spinning setup to use in a local creek for Chubs or at other places for Bluegill & Small Bass. I found this very cheap, nice looking combo at Wal-Mart for $20 and knew it would be awesome!

I used it on numerous occasions including on a one week stay with my sister when we fished on 3-different occasions. I managed to catch a bunch of small Redear Sunfish, Bluegill, & Channel Catfish. The reel & rod held up great.

I really liked the cork handle and the hook keeper, along with the very short, light rod. I kept on using it in my creek for Chubs & Sunfish, along with the occasional trip to the lake for Bluegill, Sunfish, & small Bass. All went good until one trip to my grandpa's culvert to catch some Chubs.

I accidentally picked the rod up about a few inches from the tip. It snapped the rod in half like a twig. I found out that the rod was actually not that well made. But if I could go back in time I would have never picked the rod up that way.

I loved that combo!...
...

addictedfisherman says "In my opinion, not a very good reel AT ALL." about Abu Garcia Maxxar Spinning Reel

I received this reel through the mail from someone in Wisconsin, still don't know who it is, but oh well. First day I received it, it looked like a decent reel. I sorta liked the "trigger" on the reel, so holding your line with your index finger was not needed. It also had a rear drag, which was totally new for me.

Well, all of this changed once I actually tried the reel out. I paired it up with an old 6'6 medium-action St. Croix spinning rod. The reel's line kept hitting the rod while I cast. It was awkward, and thought it was maybe the rod. Then I tried it with a 5'6 medium-action Shakespeare Firebird spinning rod. It did the same thing on it.

It made a LOUD noise when the line hit the rod while you cast. The reel was also very "wobbly". The spool and reel in all seems to wobble on retrieve, which makes for an uneasy feeling while you're reeling. It also doesn't get any casting distance at all. A maximum of, probably 15-yards with a large split shot, also, after an hour or so of fishing,...
...

addictedfisherman says "Very good combo for an even better price." about zebco 33 Spincast Combo

My dad bought one of the Zebco 33 Spincast Combo's for himself because he had his other rod pulled in. Long story short, someone found his old rod in the lake, he got it back, so he was not in need of this rod. So he gave it to me.

I had already had a Zebco 33 Authentic Reel but never had the combo. It has a nice 6' medium-action rod that is very flexible. I've gotten into some big tussles with large Carp but the rod & reel handles it all.

I use 12-pound Stren on this particular combo. It's the farthest casting combo I've used, it even out casts my Spinning reels by far. Even light baits are able to get some distance with this combo. It's also very cheap, priced at only $20. I also like the rods cork handle which feels expensive even though it's not.

Biggest fish so far was a 22" Carp, but I've caught a few others of about the same size. This rod & reel is able to catch fish almost twice the size as well. I trust my 33 with just about any fish that swims.

Anyone looking for a cheap rod...
...

addictedfisherman says "Cheap quality reel that is made to last." about zebco 33 Authentic Spincast Reel

The Zebco 33 Spincast reel is a classic. When people think of the most popular fishing reel made, 7/10 people (or more) will say the Zebco 33. Why? Well, it's cheap, reliable, and it's just been along for so many years. Since the late 50's to be exact. Earlier this year I needed a new reel to use for Carp. Just had a $20 gift card for Wal-Mart.

I already had a rod, a 6' medium-heavy action Shakespeare Ranger. I had just really started getting into Carp fishing, and my dad had a 33 (older model) so I decided to buy one of the new ones. I'm glad I made that decision.

First off, the line pre-spooled, like most pre-spooled lines, is not good at all. It's pretty much prone to kinking and knotting up, not good for a Spincast reel. I originally spooled mine with 12-pound Stren but since re-spooled it with 12-pound Berkley Big Game. It casts great on a 6' medium-heavy action rod, and has the ability to catch nice fish.

I actually have two Zebco 33 reels, one is in a combo (rod & reel) and this...
...

addictedfisherman says "This is the cheapest combo you can find that handles BIG fish." about Shakespeare Tiger Spinning Combo

The Shakespeare Spinning Combo is a great combo at an even greater price of $20. It features a large freshwater spinning reel that holds 240-yards of 12-pound test, along with a 7' medium-action spinning rod. It is the cheapest combo I've seen that will handle large freshwater fish along with smaller saltwater game.

The 12-pound test that is pre-spooled in the reel is not of the best quality, I took it off and put on 12-pound Berkley Big Game and use it for Carp. It's caught it's fair share of nice fish, biggest fish yet was 23-inches long, gave up one good fight but this combo had easily enough torque to pull the fish in.

I'm sure this reel will handle just about any freshwater fish that swims. I've had one major problem and a few minor ones. The only big major problem is the drag in this reel. To put it it in my own words, it's just not that good of a drag for a reel of this size.

Other than that, this is a cheap reel & rod that is built to last. I would surely recommend this for any...
...

xoashley1623 says "I think this really works" about As Seen On TV Ab Circle

everytime i see a new info-mercail for a new fitness item i sit there and wonder if it really works. . .sometimes it seems that some of the things they come up with is just rediculous and i don't see how it would EVER work. . When the new item came out on tv i wondered and thought if this worked, im talking about the Ab Circle pro.

If you see the info-mercials you could see that it looks like it works, it looks like it could not, not work. Well my family puchased the item and began to mess with it and just mess around the next few days we felt that it had worked in some ways and this product really does what it says. I think the pads for the where you put your knees looks like it should be stuffed in your bra but at least it doesn't hurt them. I felt it work right off the bat i also felt that it worked my arms, but i wasn't sure i was doing it right. It helps a little that it is easy to move around and put up but i think this product does work.

My arms and my abs are getting a work out...
...

as an avid outdoor runner liveing in an area where the winter season turns prohibitively cold, i needed a simple indoor machine to keep my cardio up to par during what would otherwise be my downtime. the weslo momentem 635 met both my aerobic and financial needs.as a renter i had no room for a cobersom treadmill, and as a bodybuilder and blue coller worker i had no interest in a complex computer littered 'high end"machine. i wanted good workout for a reasonable price ,that i could simply turn on and go.this model provides the ability to simply use first thing in the morning, but options to keep it interesting even after youve had it a long time.the four pre settings give you the option to mix it up to keep youre work outs from becomeinng stale, while the size and price tag keep you from resenting youre investment. overall,if youre looking for home cardio i recomend this simple, solid efficiant machine.
...

It is a nice addition in that it does not take up much space in any one area. It is easy to move around, and change its location, if needed. Even though our family is at different levels of exercise, we are all able to use it at different times of the day and week. It does not make any kind of noise while in use. It has been beneficial to a healthy lifestyle in our family.
...

We bought this treadmill and paid a what a thought was a fair price. Overall the equipment worked well for about a year. I put it to the test. The treadmill is good for easy jogging and short periods of exercise at moderate pace. Anymore than that the track will start to skip. One that occurs it is difficult to make adjustments and fix. I have been fixing this thing for a year but can order parts easily (not cheaply) from an afetrmarket company. Overall all very good, just take it easy, and it will last longer.
...

We bought this elliptical trainer machine two years ago from a Fitness Center and we really enjoy using it. It is quiet so that you can watch TV while you work out or listen to music. It has an adjustable knob on it to increase or decrease the workout and has digital readings that are easy to see. It gives you a great workout without strain on your knees. You can put it on low setting til you work yourself up to a higher setting. It shows what your heartrate is just by touching the handles that are down in front of you and is just a well built machine for working out on. I like it better than walking because especially in the winter time it is cold and it gets dark so early that we really don't walk to walk at night and sometimes that's the only time of day that we can exercise due to our schedules. So it is so handy to have, we have it right near our bedroom so that we see it and we then are sure to use it and I also like it too because it has a place where you can...
...

I really like the Nordic Track 1500C Treadmill in that it really provides you with a really, really great work out. I love the sensors and monitors that allow you to view your progress. The absorbtion pads are awesome on your knees. I do not feel the same pain in my knees that I would when I tried some other treadmills from different companys. It really allows me to keep going. ANother great feature is the fan that really cools you down when you are really working up a great sweat!! Also, the incline is really smooth and quiet and really adds to the endurance of the work out. I have tried out many other treadmills over my life time, both at home and at various work out gyms, and I have to say that this treadmill from NordicTrak really ranks up there near the top from some of the other treadmills that I have used. It really combines all of the bells and whistles that you would expect from a great company like NordicTrack!!
...

johnzag says "Qualtiy product from the guy who shouts at you on TV" about Gazelle Freestyle Edge

I ordered one of these after seeing it on TV and waiting on their phoneline for way too long. This isn't a review of the customer service though is it? lol.

Here we go. Let's get to the meat of it.

I'm not usually someone who buys products on TV, but I liked the idea of having a workout machine delivered to me. It'd save me the trip of going to the store. (Gah, lazy I know, but that's what the Gazelle is for! haha)

I've had ellipticals and all sorts of other equipment. They usually end up coming off their tracks or something. The gazelle doesn't have a track to come off of. :)

This really is perfect for me. I have a lot of fun. I can get some good stretching done on it too by extending my feet further than my normal "trot."

I haven't seen an advertisement on TV in a while, so I'm not sure if they can still be purchased from a toll-free number. Your local gym may have them though, or perhaps Sears.

Good luck to all.
...

jrtumbles says "Durable and plenty of features." about ironman treadmill 320t

Dependable unit, reliable and easy to use. Would recommend to anyone. It is a heavy duty treadmill, rated for 350 lbs. Between my sons and I we have put on well over 5000 miles on this unit and it is still running perfectly.

I love the programmable features. The workout is incredible when you set it maintain your target heart rate. The unit controls speed and incline to keep you in the fat burning zone consistently. The incline motor is smooth and quite fast and the main motor is powerful enough to keep the track from slipping or jerking under load.

The two-speed fan is a really nice touch, it is just enough to keep me going without over-heating. The track is longer and wider than any of the other treadmills I have owned, which makes walking and running so much easier for me. The pulse grip handles are sweet and surprisingly accurate.

I have no issues or complaints about the unit itself, however the chest strap does not work well for me. I am pretty thick through...
...

anna2822222 says "Most easiest to use by far!" about Proform Proform 610

I recently decided it was time to start trying to get back in to shape. I looked and researched for several months before deciding on the Proform 610. It was a great value for the money, plus I was able to get it on sale at a retailer.

Setup was extremely easy. The manual on the machine was very easy to understand. Keeping track of all the monitors is also a cinch. I like to be able to keep track of calories being burned, my current heart rate, and the mileage that I am traveling all at the same time, and this machine delivered all with ease.

The belt is more than wide enough for a person to walk or jog comfortably. Perhaps it is my clumsiness, but sometimes I have a problem with my shoestrings trying to get caught up in the belt. I have noticed that this has never been a problem with this machine.

I highly recommend it to anyone who is wanting to lose weight and/or just try to get in more exercise.
...

JoshA says "It works fine, just wish it came with a little more weight." about Weider Max by Weider

The Max by Weider is a home gym that uses the resistance rods, similar but different than the bow-flex technology. I like it. It definitely works out my muscles. Let's get the con out of the way. It doesn't come with enough weight to really give the legs a good workout. The website says they have "weight upgrades" but when I tried to buy them, they said they don't make them anymore. That was a bit discouraging. I felt that they should have removed the advertisement from their website if they don't make or sell the product, especially since the weight upgrade was one of the reasons I bought the item in the first place. But, that said, it does give the legs a bit of a workout, it just wont do any major leg mass-building. I did find out that you can get the upgrade at ebay. The machine is great for all other major muscle groups, however. I feel like I get a better work-out with this than with steel weights. I don't know why, but it just feels better. I get more pumped...
...
