mochi0172 says "Favorite restaurant" about Chambers Kitchen - Minneapolis, MN

Chambers Kitchen is my all-time favorite restaurant. I go out to eat all the time--my boyfriend and I have tried almost all the fine restaurants in the Twin Cities area. Chambers blew my mind away because it was so unique. First off, it is located in downtown minneapolis in a boutique hotel (chambers). It also has an art gallery that should not be missed. The main dining room is the the lower floor or basement area. The top floor is very trendy with lots of art, fire places and an ice bar. It's definitely a place to be seen so make sure to dress to the nines. I would describe the food as Asian fusion. I recommend the Tempura battered walleye dish (has a great mix of flavors) and the bacon-wrapped shrimp with cumin. Both dishes are excellent and made with quality ingredients. I first went there when they had a Restaurant Week special (three course meal for a fixed price) and they had the most unbelievable dessert ever. I don' remember the name (the dessert menu changes...
...

awgalindo says "take if from a local, sea captain's house is fantastic!" about Sea Captain's House - Myrtle Beach, SC

this is one of those places in myrtle beach that i recommend to anyone looking for great seafood. all those huge seafood buffet restaurants just don't cut it. when eating out ANYWHERE, you should always look for what the locals are eating, and your tiny little hole-in-the-wall places are usually your best bet. such is the case here. this quaint little restaurant used to actually be a beach house (right on the ocean). the prices are reasonable (for a young married couple who don't always have a lot of money to spend, if you get what i'm saying). the food is delicious (try the crab cakes, you WILL NOT be dissappointed!!!). reservations are recommended, but if you go out to eat anywhere in myrtle beach without a reservation, you're going to wait, no matter WHERE you go, so waiting here would definitely be worth the wait!!!
...

Well I guess it's not the best place for me to go eat as I do not like ribs. However, when I have gone in to eat at Famous Daves in Gilroy I order a salad. I might add that the salad is VERY good. However I must say that each time I have gone to eat there the wait time is not very good, although I do have to say that the waitresses are great. The last time I was there we waited over 45 minutes for our food and we were only a party of 4!!!! So although their food may be good (at least what I have eaten) their wait time is not.
...

I have eaten at Applebee's twice and both times have become ill after eating. The first time I ordered an item without bacon because I do not eat beef and pork and they brought it out covered with bacon. When I told the waitress, she acted like I ordered it that way. I never would have because as previously said, I don't eat beef or pork. Both times the service was very slow and they were not all that busy. There is nothing worth mentioning about the wait staff, aside fron what was previously said. The atmosphere was average for a restaurant of this type. The food was mediocre at best. The drinks were overpriced and watered down. Nothing at that restaurant would bring me back for more. I normally eat at chain restaurants and this is by far the worst one I've been to. Never have I gotten so sick from restaurant food. I was sick the rest of the night. I will never eat at Applebees again.
...

I tried Cold Stone first in Omaha and was hooked ever since. The first time i just tried the plain ice cream which was kind of ok. So if you wanrt to eat just plain ice cream you might want to skip this but what you should and must try here are their specials.

They mix ice cream with almost everything fvfrom nuts to wafer to candies to brownies. You can get fresh fruits in you ice cream to and you need to pick a size.

There is Like it, Love it and Gotta have it and the size increases by the type. So what I took was the Love it and trust me i could not eat it all it was so full. What i would suggest is to try the Owners Special. Its rocks totally.

They also throw the ice cream in Air and then one of them catches it in the cone which is fun. And they may break into a Flinstones song so dont be surprised. A place which will be always loved by Kids and us too ;)

Dengeos is one place you have to visit when you are in Buffalo Groove Area. The ambience rocks and the food is excellent for the price. I got a plateful of pasta for just 7 bucks and that taste of the paste was sooo nice.

My husband ordered Gyros (When you are here you have to try their Gryros) and they just rock. It was called by ABC news as one of the best joints. And so it is.

Its a complete value for money the food is awesome and reasonably price for the amazing menu and quality. Its a must for any food lovers to be here and to end it all have a baklava. Its a sweet cookie kind of a pastry with honey and walnuts and its amazing.

You have to see and be in this place to believe it. It rocks....
...

witchenkitchen says "Houston Barbecue Company is in it for the nickels and dimes " about Houston Barbecue Company - Houston, TX

Barbecue is a food to get wild about. It implies party, good times, but also tasty seasoned food. It's simple, there's not a lot of clutter around barbecue and that holds consistently across the country. There are so many styles and variations and up 'til now I've loved them all! Give me a simple cut of meat cooked to perfection with a tasty sauce and a side of slaw or ranch beans and you'll discover a happy customer. How hard can that be?

I've planned workshops close to favorite barbecue restaurants. I once traveled from Casper, Wyoming, to Gillette, Wyoming, in the winter for some fine ribs and ended getting stranded for several days by a blizzard. Chicago has its style, as does Memphis, Kansas City, North Carolina, Kentucky, Maryland, Indiana, and Texas. There's a stand in the food court at Atlanta's airport that always gets me. I'm learning Texas has several styles but there are consistencies between each that seems to hold from region to region. A "highly acclaimed" barbecue...
...

Lansdowne Arms an Irish Pub with glass garage doors in the front that open during warm weather providing an open atmosphere and outside seating. During the cold weather the doors are closed with the illusion of being outside with the surounding windows. The menu includes delicious appetizers served with beautiful presentation including crab stuffed mushrooms and pan seared brie to name a few. During the colder weather nothing is better than the potato Leek soup. The salads are tasty and huge even the house salad is extra special. The menu is large with something for everyone. My personal favorites are from the tradidition section including Roasted Corn Beef & Cabbage and the Cod Fish and Chips. They have daily specials and a 1/2 sandwich lunch special during the week. I love the turkey ruben. I have brought many guests and I have never had anyone not exceptionally happy about the meal and atmosphere. Located in the heart of Highlands Ranch I am continuously impressed by how...
...

NoNo's Cafe located in Highlands Ranch off Countly line road is an unique family owned resturant that serves cajuin and American food with a New orleans twist. The restaurant looks welcoming w/ the look of an old victorian house greeting guests with rocking chairs on the front porch and offering seating in the restaurant or in the screened in portch. They offer a Signature menu that never changes to include Crabmeat Au Gratin, Blackened Ribeye steak, Blackened Catfish, Crawfish, Gumbo and Po-boy sandwiches. They also hae a featured menu that changes every two weeks available along with the signature menu. The meal is not only unique but delicious and the staff are always friendly, it is not unusual for the owner to seat the customers and come to their table to see how the meal was. My favorite appetizer is the Crabmeat AU Gratin with lots of crab. My favorite main dish is crawfish Monica, blackened catfish smothered with crawfish in a special cream sauce. My favorite dessert...
...

We have been driving by Il Pomodoro for months. One thing that deterred us from dining there was road construction. The other was one stop we had made earlier between lunch and dinner. Too late for lunch; too early for dinner.

Every other time, often when returning from another restaurant experieince, we would say, "Hey, we could have stopped there."

So this time, we went out with neighbors and we planned ahead.

The building in which the Il Pomodoro resides is an archetecturally interesting, attractive and colorful structure. It catches the eye.

Once inside, you pass a station where take-out orders can be picked up. Then to a hostess station. We were greeted pleasantly at both posts before being seated promptly.

The first surprise, a pleasant one, was a table card that announced a menu of specials at $9.99. That's right. A half dozen dishes for under $10, including a salad. Next was a wine list that had glasses as low as $6. Two of our party decided they wanted to split a bottle...
...

A friend and I tried Tosca on West Morgan Street in Durham. We sat outside on the terrace, which was nice, but overall, our experience was not so good. One of the dishes we ordered was a ravioli special with asparagus. The other was a chicken spinach pasta dish of some sort. Unfortunately, we couldn't actually find any asparagus in the special, and the chicken tasted vaguely fish-y. When we got the bill, we were surprised to find that the ravioli dish was about $28... thankfully, we had a restaurant.com gift certificate for $25, so the total bill (tip included) was only about $35 (that included two entrees and one soda). All-in-all, I didn't think the food was all that great, and certainly it was overpriced. Waitstaff was alright, but nothing spectacular. I won't be eating at Tosca again... if you're in the mood for it, I would recommend the Blue Corn Cafe on 9th street in Durham. It's a sister restaurant of Tosca, and I enjoyed it much more.
...

Reza's Restaurant is one of the best dining spots in the Chicagoland area. It has great appetizers such as marinated mushrooms, grilled potatoes, hummus, falafel, stuffed musrhooms, salads, way too much to mention. But the great thing is the bread, they bread they give you, is always fresh, hot off the grill, and they will keep it coming!!

They have a wide variety of dishes, from seafood, to lamb, to beef and chicken, to vegetarian meals as well. This is one great restaurant for all types of eaters.

They serve lunch buffet, and buffets on the weekend, all you can eat, and it has such a great variety of dishes for the buffet alone. not to mention the massive choices on their regular menu.

pitcherday says "Buffet Palace is Asian buffet at its finest!" about Buffet Palace - Killeen, TX

There are no less than a million Chinese buffets in Killeen, Texas. Buffet Palace is by far the best one. First of all, they serve Chinese, Japanese, and Korean food, not just the typical fare found at most sit-down or buffet Chinese restaurants.

They've got about 10 different kinds of sushi. California roll, Philadelphia roll, eel, tuna, spicy, mild. And they are all fresh and rotated often. Neither I, nor anyone else I know who has dined there has gotten sick from the buffet-style sushi.

Hot and Sour, Egg Drop, Won Ton, Kim Chee, one seasonal, and two other soups where the noodles, seafood and vegetables are fresh and you just add broth. That way it's fresh and nothing is mushy from sitting there all day.

The buffet is huge and offers something for everyone, even the kidlets. There are the staples: sweet and sour, teriyaki, Kung Pao. They also have fresh salmon, steaks cooked to order (on certain days), pork dishes, cocktail shrimp, crab legs, and vegetarian offerings. They have a...
...

pitcherday says "Stay away from "ghetto Denny's"" about Denny's Restaurant - Killeen, TX

There is no reason you should be eating at the Denny's in Killeen. There are two other 24-hour breakfast/diner restaurants practically within walking distance of this nasty establishment. The IHOP has crappy service, and Kettle has a run-down looking inside and allows smoking, but seriously, you are way better off with either of those.

I've been in the Killeen Denny's three times. It smells really bad in there. It smells strongly of urine and cleaning fluids which I guess they used to clean up the urine. All three times it smelled like this wherever we sat.

The service was sub-par, at two visits I got so tired of waiting that I went to the soda fountain and filled up my drink. I'm a pretty patient diner, I like to give waitstaff the benefit of the doubt especially at a restaurant like Denny's. Many times they are over-worked and with lower prices, the tips aren't so big, but I was so thirsty!

The food was typical Denny's fare, and it wasn't cold, and it was prepared as we asked. I went...
...

khan5811 says "HORRIBLE PLACE TO VISIT" about A Taste of Burma - Sterling, VA

I wish we could give negative stars this place. What a HORRIBLE first and last experience! I will break it down into sections for you to read.

Waitstaff: The lady working at this place took her sweet time serving us. She didn't care for our concerns that our food was not good, and when asked for water it took her 30 minutes to get it for us, even though the place was completely dead. She spoke English well, but appeared to not understand us when we were talking to her.

Food Portion/Pricing: This place is WAYYY overpriced for the food they serve including the portions. We ordered a bowl of soup for two ($11) and when it arrived, the bowl was the size of a regular small soup bowl filled 1/2 way. I asked the waitress if this is the right size for a "Soup for Two" and she said it was. Needless to say, my wife and I only got a few sips each. We both ordered beef dishes, I had the Mongolian Beef ($16) and my wife had the Slow Cooked beef ($15). I was shocked to see when my plate arrived, it was...
...
