njangel says "There are much better places for Italian food" about Bensi Italian Ristorante - Hamilton, NJ

My foodie friends and I are always on the lookout for new places to try. A new place opened up at the Shoppes of Hamilton on Route 130, called Bensi Italian Ristorante, so upon a recommendation from someone that worked there, we decided to check it out. It is a local chain Italian restaurant found only in the local tri-state area.

The decor is more Asian-inspried, something you might find at Kenji Fusion or PF Chang than you would in an italian restaurant. It was all dark heavy colors with dark wood. There are two doors to enter - one leads to the restaurant and the other to a little take out counter.

We were seated in a booth in the bar area, we were not given a choice, but the place was relatively empty for 8 p.m. on a Thursday night, so I guess they were trying to conserve where messes might be made.

Our server was the bartender, a very nice young man who poured very large, but slightly weak drinks (I had a vodka tonic because it had been a rough day, and another foodie had a gin and...
...

worknschoolmom23 says "Mouth-watering pork chops" about Patti's 1880's Settlement - Grand Rivers, KY

I don't know if there is enough space to say everything I need to say about Patti's. I have tried many other places and I've never experienced anything like Patti's.

Patti's 1880's Settlement is located in Grand Rivers, Kentucky. It is about 25 miles southeast of Paducah, KY, on I-24. The drive is about 2 1/2 hours from my home in southern Illinois, but we make the trip at least twice a year, or sometimes more if we have something special to celebrate.

Nestled in a nook across from the Kentucky Lake Harbor, Patti's is surrounded by beautiful landscape, gardens, and water features. While you are waiting for your table, you can shop the specialty gift shops that line the garden like a tiny village. If you stop by earlier in the day, you can enjoy the rock-climbing wall, remote control boats, games in the arcade, or play a round of minature golf. Children can play on the outdoor play or pets some animals.

You start off your meal with homemade bread that is cooked in a flower...
...

I generally frequent Kinkaid's for their late night happy hour in downtown St Paul. They offer half price on most appetizers and have drink specials which occasionally change but are usually something like 4 dollar taps, house wines, and a few speciality cocktails. The teriyaki tenderloin is excellent; always tender and perfectly done. Be aware that after a Wild game or other event at the Xcel center, seating can be pretty tight in the bar and the servers start to get a little harried, but it's totally worth it.
...

I love this restaurant! While the price is high (the most I've ever spent for a meal) it is well worth it for a special occasion. We went for our anniversary and got extra special treatment like a photo, rose, and private dining booth.

If you decided to do one of the meals be sure to go hungry! You are limited on the amount of meat that is included but they will bring the all bread and veggies you need to use up your cheese and they'll bring you more fruit and dessert for your chocolate. We always leave stuffed!

I'm always looking for a deal and The Entertainment Book has 10% off coupons which help. The Melting Pot also has Club Fondue which gives you a free chocolate fondue just for signing up. We've also done half price fondue for happy hour or reverse happy hour making it only $3.75 per person for each pot you choose (this is only available in the Lounge area).
...

JDGeorgia says "Best post roast on earth!" about Ted's Montana Grill - Decatur, GA

I love everything about Ted's Montana Grill. Bison meat is rich in iron and protein, yet still lean, and Ted's chefs know just how to cook it. The bison pot roast is the best pot roast I've ever eaten, so tender it falls to pieces with a fork and is served in a rich, meaty broth. The burgers are juicy and tasty. The grilled salmon is cooked to perfection, with a hint of smokiness. The side dishes are awesome as well. And at lunch, you can get a full meal for only $8. What a bargain! Dinner prices are reasonable as well.

What I appreciate even more is Ted's commitment to preserve the environment. The bison are raised in an environmentally friendly way, and even though Ted's serves bison meat, the bison population in the US is no longer threatened by extinction. The restaurants take care to recycle cooking oil and garbage, and reduce landfill waste--even the straws are made of re-cyclable paper!
...

slawsgrl says "The worst place to eat in Salem" about Bertucciis - Salem, NH

I have never had such bad luck at a restauant before...and I have given this particular Bertucci's several chances.....and each one had the same bad results. First of all, the service is horrible as it took a wait person 10 minutes to acknowledge that we were even at our table....and the restaurant was not busy at all as it had just opened twenty minutes prior to our arrival. Secondly, the drinks took twenty minutes to arrive and when they did I found a dead ant floating in my sprite. To make matters worse, the waitress did not take the sprite off my bill and I ended up having to pay for something I did not even end up drinking. Additionally, when our food was brought over, 45 minutes after arriving at the restaurant, it was luke warm at best and we found a hair in the cheese of the pizza. That put the icing on the cake....we definitely will NEVER be going back to this location ever again!
...

Let me start by saying that only the occasional, rare instance of a long wait to place an order kept TGI Fridays from getting my 5-star review. The food is that good. I especially love the Jack Daniels dipping sauce...on everything from their delectable, juicy, flavorful ribs to their oversized JD burgers. MMMM. As a member of their "Stripes" loyalty program, you can earn free appetizers, get passes to jump the line, and other significant benefits. Redeeming stripes points requires printing coupons from the net, so be aware that you'll need a good, functional printer. You also have only a limited time period to use your Stripes coupons, so plan on returning often...but that's the general idea.
...

This happened a couple years ago and let me assure you that this restaurant may have completely cleaned up its act since. I have been back to Golden Corral more than once since I spotted a cockroach walking along a wooden ledge next to a neighboring table and falling onto the coat of a gentleman dining at the booth with his wife. I did not want to frighten either of them by pointing out the unexpected hitchhiker that would probably be following them home. However, I did call one of managers to my table and explained what I had seen. He told me they had been spraying in the kitchen and whenever they dd so, a certain number of intended victims would make their way out into the public areas, as I had just witnessed. He seemed genuinely apologetic about the situation, and I did not pursue it further. As I say, I have returned there for dinner several times since without witnessing a repeat of that rather shocking performance. The food is always well prepared and tasty. The volumes...
...

Whenever I'm in the mood for good, affordable Italian food, we make a beeline to the local Olive Garden. The wait staff is so friendly and welcoming. The breadsticks are always fresh and usually hot. The soups are to die for...and the salad is so good, I actually finish it for a change. Of course, with the bowl placed on the table, you can help yourself to as much or as little as you like. Like pasta? You'll love the shrimp marinara. That is my absolute favorite item here. Of course, there are many other fine choices, too. And I truly enjoyed the Australian chardonnay wine that complimented my pasta choice during our last visit. As a member of the Darden restaurant family, Olive Garden accepts gift cards that can be used at a number of familiar, popular dining spots, including Red Lobster. There may be finer Italian restaurants in America but in our corner of the world, Olive Garden is a winner, hands down.
...

Grizzly's has been around for a few years and I have eaten there many times. There food and staff are always consistant.

The people are friendly and serve you quickly--they are good about refills and checking to see if you need anything.

There are several choices on the menu, but not so overwelming you can't decide. The best choices are their burgers, their frajitas and their desserts! I have also tried a holiday buffet, and that food was good too! They have an apple salad that is to die for!

All of their food is tasty, fresh, has an appealing look and is cooked to perfection--I have never had a bad meal there.

The atmosphere is inviting and clean. The bathrooms are kept very clean as well--I have never seen anything I found distasteful or objectional.

This locally owned resturuant in Casper, Wyoming has good food. However, the service there leaves a lot to be desired! A few of the employees there are very kind and nice. But there is one there that has been there a very long time, and she is the most rude and unappreciative person. One time when I dealt with her she acted as if I was beneath her, and wasting her time. Hmmm I was there to pick up a to go order, and was planning on leaving a three dollar tip. That is actually, from my understanding a very nice tip to leave for them not having to actually do anything. So I called up the manager later that day, because it was really bothering me how she treated me. And now when I go into that resturaunt, she is worse. I have never felt this way about any working individual. But if you do not like your job, go find another one. Other then this one waitress, the place has good food and a fifties atmosphere. It feels like one of those old time diners that we in the older...
...

The Fish Company hasn't been around long, but it quickly became one of my family's favorites. Locatefd in the old Atlantic Theater shopping center, it has ample parking and is easy to get in and out of also. Even though it is a little pricey, it is worth the splurge now and then. The fish is fresh and very nicely prepared and served. The decor is soothing and the wait staff is friendly, if a little slow. One of the really good things to try there is the spinach patties. I forget what they call them, but they are little rounds tossed with bread crumbs and cheese I'd guess and lightly suateed. Goes crazy good with the fish. If you like a little drink, you might want to get there between 4 and 7 i think, they have a daily happy hour with $2 well drinks. Oh, and their spinache miso salad is also very, very good. In fact, everyone I've taken there, from my grumpy ex to my picky teenager and friends and my own friends, all have liked it. The desserts are the bomb too : )
...

Some important things to know about Honore: they are open from 7 am to 3 pm Wednesday through Sunday. Closed Monday and Tuesday. They don't have much in the way of seating and it's not a cozy place by any stretch of the imagination. During the summer they open up a back patio that is a little more welcoming, and there are some nice Adirondak chairs in front of the bakery.

They do have some spectacular French pastries here. I especially love the Kouign Amann a deliciously light, sweet, salty, crispy pastry that sadly ends too soon. It's made with their croissant dough and they have spectacular croissant dough. Maybe you should get two pastries. And a cup of coffee. According to my husband the coffee is great, although he is suspect as he's said the same about Starbucks coffee in the past. I enjoy their hot chocolate myself and I when I get it I get it with whipped cream and little chocolate shavings on top. Heaven!
...

I had never had Indian food before and my friend took me there one day to eat. I asked the waiter what he recommended and he told me Masala dishes are real good. I decided on Chicken masala, which is now my favorite. They even gave us a complimentary dessert. The food was so yummy.

Now I go there fairly often when I have the $$ for it. It can run about $12-17 even if you get the buffet including drink and tip. I really enjoy the luch menu as well. It is about the same price as the buffet. The waiters are real nice and helpful. There are even vegetarian choices on the menu for those who don't like meat or don't eat meat. Not all of the food is spicy either. You are able to order al la carte as well. To drink, I recommend Indian Iced Tea.

Overall I love this restaurant and the food is awesome. It is a nice place to go relax and eat. The only thing is they don't have a kids menu, but my daughter likes the rice and the chicken masala and she's only 19 mos. This place is great.
...

JohnRMarler says "Best Margarita Ever had" about La Margarita - Round Rock, TX

La Margarita in Round Rock has the very best Frajitas and Margaritas My wife and I have ever tasted. We have eaten there many times and the consistance of great taste impresses both of us.

All dishes we have eaten have been low on the spice with any heat you want to add given to you to do - THANK GID. We hate having everything burning us to where there is not taste. These people do it RIGHT!

Service is always top notch, quick - sometimes we have to wait for the margatitas to be served before we order so that the food doesn't hoit the table at the same time.

Chips are the thin and very tasty "you can't just eat a few thousand" type and in accord with all the other good food they serve.
...

nanthiya says "Have you been there?" about Chick Fil-A - Kissimmee, FL

Boy, I have been to many Chick Fil-A in this country , but have you been to this one yet. Chick Fil-A in Celebration, Kissimmee,FL. I was a little bit uneasy at first honestly when you sit down in a fast food restaurant , then a staff approachedto you and ask if you need to refill your drink. Then he passed by again and want to take my tray away, then he passed the third time and ask me if he can help me throw away trash and if I would like to have some mint after my meal ( by the way, he said take more than you need for the future). I mean this is not just a typical fast food restaurant that anyone know. This is a first class fast food restaurant or not? Like I said at first, I did felt a little uneasy at first but after a first time. I felt that if for them to hire an extra person per branch to give this kind of service to the customer, they can creat probably hundred of jobs more to all over the country and give the customer a little sense of fast food restaurant can be superb as well....
...

maxchuie says "OMG!!!! The best food in the northeast FLAVOR!!!!" about Sarapes Authentic Mexican Food - Enfield, CT

For those looking for non-chain,non Tex-Mex, home cooked food, this is your place (or as close as you'll get in northern CT).

Located in a tiny old store front, the narrow dining room has small booths and tables. The atmosphere is very casual (think homey "hole-in-the-wall",our tabletop was cracked and patched with duct tape). It reminded us of the small family Mexican places of the southwest.
We received a small basket of chips and three types of sauces when we were seated. The first was a very mild tomato salsa with fresh cilantro and onions. Delicious!! The second was a green sauce which was very smooth with a little more heat. The third was a smooth spicy sauce that left just the right amount of zip on your tongue without killing your taste buds.
Regular offerings include beef tongue or beef lip tacos, carne asada and grilled spiced pork and there is a list of delicious sounding daily specials.
My date and I ordered the combination plates that came with rice and beans. His consisted of...
...
