DevicFORCE says "Champion shredders lack durability & longterm performance" about Axeus Champion Paper Shredder

The Champion Shredder I purchased at Walmart regularly gets paper jams. Also, when I turned the shredder head over to clean a paper jam, I found the shredder's metal prongs bent. I was stunned to find that with normal use such extreme damage occurred. The metal in the shredders must be of inferior quality because I have a Fellowes shredder that is still operating without fail with daily use over 15 years. — Also, on the two occasions that I've tried to reach Champion Customer Service, I got voice mail. In two days, I have not received a return call from their office in response to my message. I was also disappointed to find that their warranty statement lacks a clear definition of the time frame within which they will repair their shredder. That lack of clarity suggests that the company might try to manipulate the consumer by withholding repair or technical assistance if the consumer has weak boundaries or is not informed about...

About a year ago I decided it was time for our office to upgrade from our cheapie ribbon type fax machines to something of a higher caliber. I purchased our first Brother Intellifax2820 from Office Depot and love it so much I bought another from Amazon. The first from Office Depot because of a MIR that made it cheaper than Amazon, and the second from Amazon because it was the lowest total price I could find without MIR. We use these machines on a regular basis and have never had a problem with them. I highly recommend this machine. —...

I was delighted when I first bought this two months ago. It shreds paper like a dream. — That is, until it dies. — I've had two of these in two months' time. One died after two weeks; the other, a sturdier model, I assume, limped along for two months until it died in the midst of shredding this morning. No warning, no reason. It's dead. — No paper is clogging it. The container is empty -- and it was close to empty when it died. — Good thing the guy hoodwinked me into buying the extended warranty, huh? I can't wait to go up there today and tell them what a piece of crap it is -- and wait for them to give me another one in exchange. Let's just hope it lasts two months. — Save yourself some time and money -- DON'T BUY IT. —...

This shredder has not lasted anytime. All of the paper jams up in the corners and stops the machine. You have to unplug it and dig the paper out of the shredder. It was one of the worst shredders I have ever bought. I had a cheap-o $9.99 small shredder from Wal-Mart that worked alot better than this one. The only problem with it is it did not have a base, you had to hang it on a trash can. I think I will get it back out and start using it...

— We got this shredder over the holidays, and I have to admit I'm a big fan. I really like that it's designed to be set on top of a desk or table rather than on the floor. It chops up cds, credit cards, staples, 5 page stacks of paper, and can probably turn scrap wood into toothpicks. — — My only nitpick is that I wish it were diamond cut, rather than 2in by 1/4in rectangles, but that's really really minor. — — I wouldn't trust the chomping of my sensitive documents to any other household appliance (or pet). —...

heicoc says "Never buy from Staples again" about Staples Stores

We purchased an HP Compaq Presario computer from Staples in December before Christmas. About mid January it started making a loud buzzing noise and kept shutting down in the middle of us working on it. After spending almost 2 hours on the phone with first the Staples warranty company, then with HP, nothing was resolved. After a week we called our local Staples store while having HP on another phone, and our Staples store told us to bring in our computer and it would be fixed within 48 hours. After hearing nothing for several days (we took it in on Sunday and I called back on Wednesday) I called and after being on hold for over 15 minutes was told the technician had left for the day. So I called back the next day, Thursday, and the tech told me he would have to call me back. So an hour or so later he called to let me know he thought it was the power supply and he would order it, so it would be a few days. After several days he called and said...

We all get the mailbox full of junk mail, it is the American way after all. Along with that junk mail are all those credit card offers and a chance someone could steal your identity. We all need to be aware of that danger and do something about it. I am doing my best and my Champion Paper Shredder helps me do just that. — — How it Works — — The Champion Shredder takes what you feed it and proceeds to pulverize it into diamond shaped confetti. The smaller the pieces the more you can be sure that nobody can put them back together, thus protecting your valuable credit for would be thieves. The Champion makes a mountain of little paper shreds and I know my stuff is safe. The shredder is automatic, just insert the paper and it begins its destruction through the razor sharp teeth in the shredder housing. Paper jams are no problem as there is a reverse on it too unjam it should that happen. — — The only times I have had to use it is when...

If you spend quite a bit of money during the year for office supplies, then you should join one of the major office supply retailers' loyalty programs. Worklife Rewards is the loyalty buyer program associated with Office Depot. The program provides monetary rewards every time you spend money either in a retail store or online. — Membership in the program is free. You get 10% back in rewards on purchases of ink, toner, paper and their Business Services such as printing, plus you get 1% back in rewards on nearly everything else. One downside is that the reward program excludes purchases of computers and higher end technology equipment. There is no limit to the amount of $ you can earn. Once you have earned at least $10 in rewards during a calendar quarter, you will receive a reward gift card in the mail. If your rewards are less than $10 in any quarter, they will carry forward until the end of the calendar year. —...

we purchased this shredder at our local target when it was on sale. and lucky for us, it was on sale... because this shredder doesn't have much going for it. first off, it is a loud shredder. the fact shredder and receptable are enclosed doesn't help muffle the noise much. also, even though it claims to be able to shred credit cards, it sounds like an out of shape man running on the treadmill after 5 minutes... the motor can barely move the card through the shredding "teeth." and after not even a year, and only occassional use, it's dead in its...
