All of the paper jams up in the corners and stops the machine. You have to unplug it and dig the paper out of the shredder. It was one of the worst shredders I have ever bought. I had a cheap-o $9.99 small shredder from Wal-Mart that worked alot better than this one. The only problem with it is it did not have a base, you had to hang it on a trash can. I think I will get it back out and start using it... It makes life easier.  When it still can't connect to another fax, it will print a report and you will know if did not succeed.  Easy for those who can't wait all day to confirm a fax was successful.  I liked it so much at work, I bought one for my home-- now i am not at the office 15 hrs, I can finish at work and fax it to myself....
