Telpher says "When you absolutely, positively don't care about customer servic" about FedEx

After having two really awful experiences with Federal Express within a month, I feel compelled to write them off, and to write a negative review of their service.

Used to be that FedEx were the go-to guys for getting stuff delivered quickly and efficiently. Their service used to be the gold standard. Those days are long gone. More recently, I've found they're sloppy, don't respond to customer service requests, don't deliver packages in time as promised, and are careless.

Last month we ordered a rather expensive anti-gravity chair to help me deal with a chronic back problem. The online dealer used FedEx to send it to us. We were told to be home between 9 and 5 on a certain day, as FedEx would not deliver without someone here to sign. I stayed home on that day, and never left the house. FedEx never knocked on my door. When I called to ask what the problem was, the person was rude and clueless. He claimed the package had been delivered. I explained that I had been home for every second fo...
...

I RECEIVE MANY SHIPMENTS AND I MUST SAY FED EX HAS BECOME A NIGHTMARE AS FAR AS BRINGING PACKAGES TO YOUR DOOR STEP. THIS IS ONE OF THE MANY OCCASIONS THAT THEY HAVE" ATTEMPTED TO DELIVER" A PACKAGE TWICE . THE SAME PACKAGE BUT THEY NEVER MAKE IT IN THE FRONT DOOR BECAUSE THE DRIVER DOES NOT RING THE DOORBELL. I HAVE OBSERVED TWICE FROM MY LIVING ROOM WINDOW WHICH HAS AN AC INSTALLED SO THEREFORE I CANNOT HAVE THE FED EX GUY STOP FOR ONE MOMENT SO I CAN RUN DOWNSTAIRS TO PICK UP THE PACKAGE BEFORE HE RUNS IN HIS VAN. BY THE TIME I GET DOWNSTAIRS HE IS GONE AND HAS LEFT A NOTICE ON MY DOOR WITH 2ND ATTEMPT. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE UNABLE TO GET VAN TO COME BACK AFTER IT HAS LEFT YOUR ADRESS EVEN IF IT HAS BEEN 10 SECONDS AND YOU CAN STILL SEE THE VAN PULLING AWAY. WILL ASK FOR ALL MY SHIPMENTS TO BE SENT VIA UPS FROM NOW ON NO MORE FED EX

PS.
Roch says "Fedex lost our box!" about FedEx

It was our first time to ship via ground fedex. We are relocating from SF, Calif to San Antonio,Texas. It was already a mistake when they didn't inform us how to label our boxes. The driver was kind enough to come back for our boxes when our labels were not printed out correctly.

We sent 7pcs 20x20x20 boxes and only 6 boxes arrived to it's destination. We kept waiting for the 7th box until it was past 2 weeks. We called Fedex and they said we should file a claim and that a "claims agent" would be calling us regarding the compensation. We kept following up our claim and they told us it was in the process. 1 month later no phone call from the "claims agent" and the fedex representative told us that they mailed a check for $100 plus the shipping cost! Before hand I already told them that I will not accept that amount and would rather have the box recovered since it had our priceless personal belongings. They said that since we did not declare a value for our box that was the maximum amount they...
...

Fed Ex was once the best of the best. When no one else could get it there in time, or was dependable to meet the deadline you could always call 1-800-go-FED-EX and count on a friendly representative ready to take care of you and your needs. Not anymore. I have watched over the course of the last year as Fed Ex has again and again failed their own committment times, when you call to ask where your shipment is, it is conveniently blamed on weather problems. Sometimes even in the town that I live in, when it is clear for three states around me, I watch the radar nightly. I have had them refuse to honor scheduled times, forget packages in a truck, misdeliver, not read the notes placed in the system and then when you call customer service, do they fix the problem? No, but they will give you your money back. Ok great, now that my customer has waited all day for the package, missed lunch, I look like an idiot, I have heart burn, yeah give me my $25.00 back. Sheesh.

Use caution with this company....
...

TheColdOne says "Going FedEx? I'd think twice about that." about FedEx

I live in Hayward, California, and I try hard to not get FedEx to deliver packages when I place orders online. This is only the second time, but it is even worse than the first. I live in an apartment complex, and instead of coming to my apartment, they assume I'm not home, and go straight the the manager's office to frop it off... I don't even know until I either check with the manager, or she calls me the next day letting me know about it.

This time, they didn't even do that. They marked it as "4:17PM - Customer not available, or company closed". I was home ALL day! no knock on the door, no call on the phone, nothing! And the manager was even in her office around that time! FedEx was at least halfway decent back in Reno, but here, it is definitely my last choice for package delivery. Now, where'd those heavy-load pidgeons go? I have a package I need to get somewhere on time....

I like the online version of the USPS shipping store. But I like the USPS shipping assistant even more. The shipping assistant is on my computer, and it shows all the shipments and tracking numbers. I just click the status button and it updates all the info for all packages at one time. No back button pushing, no click here, click there. I can also print labels with or without postage. This is a feature that the USPS site no longer offers....

I buy a lot online and sometimes I get the stuff through FedEx. I live out in the country and its 90% dirt roads out here. Although streets are marked clear a lot of people don't take the time to mark either their house or mailbox the same way. Mine is clearly marked and I am only one of maybe 60% that do that.

My Dealings with FedEx

Whenever I do get a delivery from them they come knocking at the door whether it is a "Must Sign For" package or not. If I hear them I answer the door and if not they will leave it in between the screen door and front door (if it will fit) or on the porch if it is a nice day. They only do this when my truck is in the driveway though. If my truck is not there they have left a note on the door and then taken the package around back and either placed it on the back porch, or under the pool shed overhang if it is foul weather.

Now in my book that is above and beyond what they are supposed to do. They will walk into the back yard to make sure I get my package.......

Although I seldom need to ship anything it is nice to know that I can get it done by a caring and knowledgeable staff. From boxes to foam peanuts they have it all right there. The one occasion that stands out for me was when my son graduated high school this past summer.

The Service

My son had made a bookshelf and a cd rack in school and wanted to ship them to his mother on the east coast. He was moving there and could not take them with him on the train without it costing an arm and a leg. So we ventured out to our local UPS Store. The lady behind the counter greeted us as we walked in with a smile and asked how she could help us.

We explained what we needed and where it was going and asked her for advice on the best way to handle it.

I LOVE THIS SERVICE!!!!!

I can't imagine going back to standing in line at the post office. It's so easy to go online enter the information and print the label. You will need a postage scale or be a really accurate guesser to enter a weight for shipment. Then request package pick up, leave on your front porch (my recommendation) and be done with it. You can even order stamps online - order priority mail shipping boxes online and they deliver for free. Free boxes, free shipping - what more could you ask for?

Only negative is that I ship to Soldiers in Iraq a lot and they aren't able to do shipping for that yet. Customs forms have to be taken to the post office but other than that, love the service.
...
